Ryan Pitchford Um, the Velvet Underground are in there, and I don't think they had anything hit very high on the charts ever. And the Ramones never had anything big until after they started dying. Say what you will--and I agree, some of the inductiees are questionable--but at the end of the day, it still gathers a collective of fantastic musicians and their stories.
Big Muff Fuzz also does the trick. they sound really similar i own both. The Big Muff is cheaper but the DBA Fuzz war has a better casing and lifetime warranty. Both equally awesome pedals.
***** Did someone request of you this knowledge? Or were you just putting it forth unsolicited? If the answer to the former is "yes," go about your day; if the answer to the latter is "yes," you have hereby been invited to participate in this years Philistine's Festival to take place in the beautiful city of Corona, CA, United States, from Dec. 2 - Dec. 7th. The exact location is "TBD" at the moment, but I can assure you it will be revealed soon. Contrary to popular opine, it will not be held at the Centennial High School Gymnasium, due mainly to the unwanted press stemming from last year's multiple kangaroo-human boxing deaths. From the UK- thank you! Imaginary Person is probably one of my favourite songs of Ty's, and this live version is just the best. Hoping I can see you in the USA some time. Always wanted to visit. Thanks for keeping good music alive!
Why, i remember seeing Ty Segall land on the shoreline of Colorado. As he leapt off his boat, he declared, "SHEM DEL AH CREM DE VU AH SU SU SWAH!" I still think he's the best turkey beak salesman this country has ever seen. I mean, shit. Who else can paint a mustache on a sycamore? Makes me cringe just thinking about it.
Finger on it I saw it on the tip of my finger I got it What was in it was all in your finger I saw it Finger on it You got it like hair on your finger You got it You're so real You belong like a planet You got it
Best band ever created to this day! I still listen to Type O at least 3 or 4 times a week! The music never gets old, and always gets me though whatever crap I’m going though at the time. Just like it did 20 years ago when I first got into Type O Negative. Toads place New Haven Ct. they used to tour ever album there. Sure miss those days of seeing the boys live. Such a great cover you do, I love everything you do.

That’s why he’s so unique. The genre is garage rock. It’s meant to be raw and a pure sound. It sounds like it came out of a dumpster but that’s why it’s so fucking rad!
If theres a new rock genre like grunge coming then they will site Ty Sygal as the influnce, the same way Velvet Underground Mudhoney or Ramones were pinoers.
you definitely can but humbuckers arent ideal. split coils dont really give the same sound as a regular single coil in my experience (idk if thats due to the actual pickups or the fact that most single coil guitars have 250k pots and most humbucker guitars have 500k pots) and you might find youll get more output than youd like and it may be too warm and muddy. I would recommend pretty much any fender/squier with single coils but especially mustangs. Fenders actually releasing a new line of mexican made mustangs next month which should cost like $500 and sound pretty promising. However you can definitely get similar sounds with a les paul. the real key to getting this sort of tone is using a fender tube amp and a fuzz pedal (they use a death by audio fuzz which are quite expensive but joyo makes a good one as well) the truth is youre not gonna be able to get an exact tone like this for cheap but there definitely are ways to get sounds that would fit the genre on a budget (joyo fuzz pedal, solid state amp, and pretty much any guitar) but i would avoid most digital or simulator amps because they dont take fuzz pedals well. another thing to consider is that ty used a les paul on manipulator and i think he still does for a more classic rock tone but not for his early stuff. Sorry for the rant but i hope that was helpful
duuuuuuude thanks you explained it sooo good i didnt know fender was releasing 500$ mustangs whennnnnn i neeeed one i was looking into the fender mustangs but only a modern player mustang with p90s are like theyre budget mustangs i was also thinking about getting a vox amp and a fuzz and reverb pedals too but yea i would reaaaaaalllllyyy like to know more about the single coil mustang for 500 bucks thanks for ur info dude
Mustangs are weird to sting. I usually just leave mine sticking out like that too. I'm just always paranoid about them falling out of the slots when I try to cut them.
Oh, a troll. Well my aim wasn't to entertain you but to call a request for this guy to string his guitar properly. Of course if you're actually here to listen to Ty Segall then you're used to boring, so why the personal attack? You're just some 12 year old troll who is on the internet because his mom went out to buy cigarettes so you thought you'd come on here and cyber bully. You have no dad haha piece of shit.
The drop in finger never gets old
Did it ever get old, Luke?
Huh, Did it Luke?
Did it?
Bit Old now luke?
its still not old
Hands down the most original dude out there right now. One of my favorite musicians of all time. Rock Hall?
lolttyl143 who the fuck would want to be in that joke-book? Plus you have to have had a number one hit or top ten record or some shit.
Don't you mean fingers down?

Yeah a good portion of his songs are all covers lol just saying

Ty still has everything and more, but these were the days.
spedracer4U those were the days in every single way.. every thing sucks now.
Ty doesn’t suck. But everything else does.
ok I watch this video every day and I don't know why
RomanSkate same
Because is so fucking dope
Been chasing after this guitar tone for the longest time. Might be time to just get a fuzz war already.
Big Muff Fuzz also does the trick. they sound really similar i own both. The Big Muff is cheaper but the DBA Fuzz war has a better casing and lifetime warranty. Both equally awesome pedals.
I want that Mustang...
It's a 67
+david dewitt I'm sorry to interject here, but I can't seem to find the question this is in response to. May you direct me so kindly?
+Brighton DeChienne That Mustang, the one lolttyl143 wanted, is from the year 1967.

this mustang sound is in my opinion distinctive and refers to ty segall more than any other of his guitars
Mustang and Jaguar era Ty Segall was such a vibe
I'm infatuated with this artist
This band kicks a serious amounts of nuggets
Finger on it
I saw it on the tip of my finger

What was in it was all in your finger

Sir this is ty segall
Psychedelic garage punk? I think it sounds fitting
this is so fucking real
this guy was really born in the wrong time. in the 90's, he would have been on par with nirvana, pearl jam and soundgarden, maybe above them
fucking love this
Dope
Ty Segall fucking rocks
yumyum
All I'm saying is he's way better than Jack White
...Black
Hell yeah
THIS IS FUCKING BADASS
3.58 john cusack anyone?
i seen him live recently and he doesnt play like this anymore

can that bass get any higher?
Its sad but ty is just to late with his music. If he was around in the 80s 90s, he would be a fckin legend now

does the second guitarist have a jag or a bigger mustang?
charlie used to play a mustang but in like late 2014 he switched to a jag i believe. im pretty sure theyre both parts guitars
you think i can get a sound like that with a les paul? split coils? also thanks for the name i didnt know his name haha

but i am actually thinking me and my band already have a sound so why compromise it right
does someone know which pedal he uses in the beginning? that is not a fuzz war yet......
He has a boss tuner and the Fuzz war pedal, and an ABY box- so he can use 2 amps at the same time.
it sounds like he's just straight into the amp
nah lol
no its a mustang
Nope both are mustangs
Someone should teach Mr. Segall how to string his guitar.
yeah mr white! yeah science!

Is that a girl playing the drums? Siiiiick
She's kind of a bad drummer from what I've heard live, like listen to how much she is speeding up here, wat too fast for the song
Hey, is that a JagStang? You know, the guitar Kurt Cobain came up with?
nope just a mustang 9 years late but yeah
Astro Lounge vibes but not nearly as good as Smash Mouth
