@@en8596 they top guys weren't taking the fight before, but now they have no choice. UFC doesn't like Beneil's style (I love his fights btw) so they really want to kill 2 birds with one stone with Islam v Beneil because those 2 are actually the best in the world but Dana doesn't want them at the top yet.

The only time Dana comes out to say a fighter didnt want to fight is when the fighter asked for more money and Dana didn’t negotiate at all.

Will, can you ask Islam to come out and say his side of the deal? I feel like Dana intentionally pushed him off of the RDA fight so he can use that excuse to not give him the title shot and give it to Conor. It'd be good to hear his side of the story
I honestly doubt it's that... I honestly think that Dana says no, or more like Hunter and Shelby say no because that fight is too big to promote in 3 days time... that's a fight that gets put on a main event on a fight night type of fight... or he actually doesn't want Islam to get in there and find a fight, possibly taking him out of contention for the next title fight.
I honestly don't see Conor getting a title fight off of his return. I think it'd sour A LOT of fans, including myself. I wouldn't watch it.

I've purchased the rope and started hanging it above the plank. My life is shit and I'm ready to end it all.. Until I heard Islam is fighting RDA, I see this life is still worth living! Cancelled my suicide plan, started seeing a therapist, getting a job and finishing my study. Life is good for one day until the fight is cancelled. Now the rope is calling out to me..

Great video I think what is important that comes out in this video is the collective effort of the team for success and to meet its needs is priority. I believe the formula for success of each individual fighter relies on this and there's no need to break it based on the whims of all outside pressure to individualize a fighter. Just imo anyways. I am guessing Islam wanted to fight Rafael, but had to step back for someone or something like his teammates’ fights as he kept mentioning after the Bobby Green fight that he needs to support them for the upcoming events. Or maybe something else quite hard to guess. We shall wait and learn thanks to this beautiful channel.

Islam should've taken the fight. He needs to be out there to be valuable for UFC. He's reserved personality and lack of interviews is only pulling him down. He needed to take this fight to show that he will do whatever it takes.
Islam should take on Jordan at a big exhibition like Ben Askren did at MSG.
But they should do one wrestling match and one submission match.
I think Islam is right about Jordan, he excels in wrestling though very basic power moves like blast doubles and charging people out of the circle.

Dana said the UFC really wanted the RDA vs Islam fight to help the card this weekend. Why doesn't Islam go to the UFC now and say he really wants that fight? We all know the contracts aren't set in stone. He will still have to fight Benny but this would be a way to make a statement to the fans/MMA community. This would be the best option for him - to get this fight back with RDA.
