Junk Journal Glue Book Made With Scraps

- This jj was made with scraps and leftovers from my stash. I use it for doodling and storing test prints for my digital designs.

Would love to see how you put this together. Looks as if the front of the book had stitching on the front. So would your sewing machine be set up for heavy stitching. The book is beautiful for personal use.
I sewed the signatures in using a pamphlet stitch: ruclips.net/video/9RFB0wUR7u0/видео.html. The stitching on the cover was done on the layer you can see only, and then glued to the file folder cover. I use a medium (cotton/denim) needle on my sewing machine. Thanks :)

+EphemerasGarden I found this after viewing you "butterfly kisses" altered composition book. This is a beautiful "glue" book! I have never seen one before, and I think this is a great introduction to one! I've been thinking of making something for BFF who has been asking me to share my art with her, this idea will help me make a bday gift. What a fun book! I keep a dictionary by my chair to doodle and draw in if I'm watching tv, and all my colored pencils are right there on my end table next to my chair. Thanks for sharing. :-)

I love this! I bet you had so much fun doing it. I also love to color/doodle to relax in front of the TV. I am thinking of starting a Junk Journal like this, using an old textbook that has a bit of a glossy finish to the papers. Do you recommend using gesso first so paint will stick better? What kind of papers did you use in yours? Thanks for sharing. ~~Liz

I haven't really gotten into glue books but this one is really creatively done. Didn't think I really liked them until I saw this one:) I especially love the colors and various papers you used. I can't figure out though how you got that little pompom trim adhered...did you sew it in? I've never seen pompoms that small but I love it!

About how many hours does it take you to make one of your journals?
Bec Elene I've never really counted. I think it depends on the style of the journal and the amount of time devoted to embellishing the cover, the inside pages, as well as binding type, and so many more factors.
I thought you might say that. And trust me I understand. I was just curious of your average time. I figured the time you spend on each one must be a factor in how much you charge for them so I was just curious. It seems like you put in sooo much work. I would love to see a tutorial on how you go about the sewing elements you put in the journal. A process video or tutorial would be sooo helpful because I would like to try that myself.
