AD10 is probably my favourite CS design. The build quality was just a whole new level. Love a Tanto though so yes, I probably will go for the Tanto blade version and share pocket time between the two (until the next blade!).
@@carlostovar8585 Nope, this is the regular version. I’m pretty sure they don’t make a Tanto Lite. I own both blade styles of this knife now, and I love both of them.

Some videos you just have to see twice! The Tanto AD-10 has become a favorite EDC of mine. Perfect for me. Thinking about getting one of the new DLC AD10's... I'm thinking it's a good idea!
Definatly a tough choice as they are both awesomeness wrapped in amazing. Going to have to go with the drop point for my needs. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
OK..... I Ordered the AD-10 and its taking a little too long... I hadnt seen the Tanto yet, just saw it 20 min ago!! I went and bought that also!! HAD TO HAVE IT!! So now I have both coming and I can wait.. im like a little kid .. Just high quality knives!! I needed both. Thanks for the GREAT REVIEW
@@Jimislash Hey Thanks for replying.. I am getting into doing reviews myself.. Just getting started.. but I learn from all of you guys... Have you ever seen a guy Named Knathans Knives ? cHECK OUT WHAT HE DOES WTH THE AD 10'S.. totally customizes them to one of a kind!!
I have BOTH Now... the answer is Simple.. I love them both! the hollow grind on the Tanto is Sick!! its a little sharper in my opinion.. Having both I have the freedom to choose whatever im in the mood to carry.. Yes its a little big, but the weight is PERFECT! it deploys easily from the pocket and the blade comes right out with that feel of quality as it clicks home.. after youve had a bunch of knives you know what quality feels and sounds like. these are a great value for $150 a pop.. I almost want to buy more because I feel the price will go up.. the simple answer Get Both!!
I'm a little confused, maybe you gentlemen can help. When the AD series came out there was the drop point and the tanto. So this new one is like a drop point combined with a tanto. So will the new 'tanto' replace the original one that came out or are they keeping production on both tanto's ? Also is there a designated name for the 2022 tanto?
I may very well get one of these and prioritize it. I have one of the really early Cold Steel AD-10s with the hollow grind and it slices like crazy. Now, I understand most drop-point AD-10s are like my AD-15 where they're flat ground and you get less slicing power (I break down ABSURD amounts of cardboard). But with a tanto, since it's by definition hollow ground, I'm not gonna have to think "okay, I have a tough to find, close to irreplaceable by 2022 blade, so I have to baby it, be careful with it, and in general back off what I usually do with my Cold Steel knives." I'm VERY tempted to get an AD-10 Tanto so I can just ease my mind on my hollow-ground drop point and let it be, if not a safe queen, just a much lighter user.
AD-10 is kind of a snug fit for me but that is a cool looking tanto. Chomping at the bit for the mayhem drop though. As mentioned here earlier tanto 4max scout would be spectacular.
AD10 Tanto, do I need this? No I have a AD10, do I want one? Yes Please. So which do I like best, I think it would be hard to choose. Would have to carry and use the Tanto before making that decision.
Nice, and very nice even, but the cold steel AD10's are too expensive for my taste. I'd never pay over a hundred dollars for a folder. Now if it's a fixed blade, that's another story. But paying that much for a folder is out of the question for me.
sometimes you get what you pay for! I use to buy sub $100 dollar folders but my tastes have evolved to enjoy superior materials, fit and finish, better quality, etc. I know you can buy some really good beaters sub $100 these days though.
I own the drop point, but that tanto blade looks like it could handle a fire stick really well. Just another excuse to buy it and I can have one In each hand. Lol!
It’s interesting for sure. If Devon can make Levan sweat at all he will take it as far as he can. If Levan pushes through the kings move first round with ease then it’s over. I’m hoping Devon can show up around 300lbs that will help tremendously.
The Tanto or otherwise the American Tanto is a fighting blade designed for penetration. The drop point is designed for bush craft. Different purposes yet I own both. My Tanto I carry for 2nd Amendment purposes and my drop point when I am out backpacking or hiking. Fantastic blades from Cold Steel as usual.

@@Jimislash I honestly think this is a North or South of the Mason-Dixon line debate. Then again Texas being it's own country we might not even care and call it the Lone Ranger blade.🤪
It is pronounced Tan-toe. But in Japanese, the Tan part is said slightly faster than we would say the word Tan, because it is part of a Japanese compound word. Just saying.
"...get an aftermarket pocket clip..." I've searched for aftermarket AD-10 clips, and I've only found 1 place and they are closed for months. They are not a popular knife for pocket clip makers.
Hahahahaha...."tell me what you like better, and I'll tell you if you are right or not!" LMFAO! I will get one later to accompany my original AD10. I like the tanto only for the sharpness for piercing and slicing. I have the Code 4 in standard and tanto iterations and the hollow grind tanto is my goto for almost everything. But I doubt it is as tough as the flat grind.
I found a new in box Tanto AD10 on Arizona Custom Knives, and brought it home. I love that it's hollow ground. Just an awesome knife

Id probably go with the drop point. My voyager XL tanto fills that need nicely. Even though its not as nice as the AD10, still the voyager delivers.
