Yes, we’re counting down every single subscription he gets, it’s been a while but as he says in this song it’s worth waiting ’cause this day will come and we all will celebrate with him. He’s worked so hard for many years without giving up his dream, he’s an example to all of us in so many ways, and mostly i believe for the great guy he is, humble with a very good heart…it’s impossible not to love him, no matter you’re a man or a woman.
This was amazing! Not much to say….we have watched him go from a skinny boy of 20 to a handsome man, now in his 30s. Dan's early days weren't easy. It took him having to reach rock bottom emotionally, to get up and face the world with a "vengeance"! Thank you for yet another fantastic reaction to Dan. Your surprise at what you were about to watch, when you saw the first image, was only overtaken by your pure enthusiasm as the video progressed. And you are so right, if ANYONE was destined for greatness, it's Dan. It is evident beyond doubts he has been gifted with an incredible talent for music and a divine voice, which laid the natural foundation for his soul's dream. But it's also very clear, that if he hadn't had the strength and determination of spirit to work as hard as he did through all the years, he might have become a good singer, but not the master he became. But also, we also know no matter how hard he would've worked, had he not had the gift of sheer talent from the start, he would've been just like so many of the musicians we see in the mainstream industry today.
I agree, and it also makes me think of his family--including both his mother and father. From what I've heard Davi say on HIS channel, he and Dan have had similar hurdles standing in their way over the years, but due to how they were brought up, they've jumped them, and gone right on around the track. I intend, for the rest of MY years and miles and miles of track left to me, to be blessed watching and listening to THEIR years and miles and miles of track...as long as they'll let us...and I hope that will still be a very long way out into the future.

Great reaction. This was Dan's 100th video - his celebration of how far he and his channel had come at that time. That old, original Dragonforce Singer Audition is still out there. He re-recorded that song 5 years later (along with Victor the Guitar Nerd) (or maybe it was 10 years later) to show how far he had come since he first began. It would be fun if you could do a double-reaction to those two videos back to back.

Thanks for reacting to this one. I haven't watched it in a long while, but I was still moved to see it again. You really should go and watch that first video he made and then check out his 3rd video, Living on a Prayer (he has remade that one since then). His Dad paid for him to have voice lessons after the Dragon Force audition cover and he stuck to them. You can hear the progression in his singing skills. It's an amazing transformation. Love that you appreciate him like the rest of us do and I hope to keep hearing more.
i know you react to a lot of dan's covers, and am surprised that you have not run into this before now. it is truly precious. those of us who have watched him for the last few years can really feel like we watched him grow into the talented and confident performer that he has become. it is truly inspirational. thanks for reacting; had not seen it in a while.

Great stuff, eh? A testament to his talent, genius, and fierce determination. When this was made, in 2018, he was still very far away from his goal, and now, in early 2024, he’s almost there. What an inspirational guy. BTW, I recently took a look at the Siege of Paris video, where he does four vocal parts. I was pleasantly surprised by his creativity, his voice then, and his already sophisticated editing skills. It’s worth a look. Thanks so much for putting this on - it’s a great start to the year. If you go listen to his earliest videos, you could tell that there is great potential there, were they really good well depends on who you talk to I suppose. And then listen to him now, yeah, it’s great that he took all this time to put into the work and the training and and just kept with it. Dan is amazing!
If Im not mistaken he was 20 in the first clip. From the little I know, it hasnt been an easy journey. Am very grateful he had the strength to fight the demons and achieve the success hes earned. Im saddened, selfishly, that he doesnt produce very much music anymore. Hope he doesnt disappear altogether. Loved your review of this. Expressed my own feelings about this perfectly.❤
He did the weekly grind to build up his channel to a place where he wouldn’t have to do the grind anymore. He put so much of his life on hold to do that, and now, he’s closing in on 1M subscribers, he’s in position to do passion projects - original music with Eric July and Fearless, the Manowar tribute album, other covers. No need to be sad or worry about him going anywhere. The man is doing exactly what he was born to do, and he’s not going anywhere.
Im aware of his other projects. It wasnt a criticism; no one would expect any performer to.keep that pace up; particularly as he does almost all the behind the mic stuff too. I was referring to his you tube channel. Not everyone is able to follow on other platforms
Well, if you take into consideration, the amount of work he puts into every detail of his videos, and into keeping himself fit, in order to deliver the quality he wants, then it's only fair, that he doesn't put out more, especially when he also has people pulling on him from all sides to do podcasts, participate on livestreams etc. And he has his family too, and a life outside of youtube.

I believe now is the right time, not only for you but also for Dan, for you to react to it.

Ro--YES! Being the daughter of a musician is a wonderful, wonderful thing, but not always (rarely, actually) easy. I, too, am the daughter of a fabulous, wonderful musician. Interestingly, I am now the oldest singer/musician in our still-living parts of the family, but I have six kids who all can sing beautifully, and most of them play instruments, as well. That includes the littlest guy here at home, who will be four years old on the 31st of January 2024 (my husband and I share ownership in a small hobby farm, with our youngest daughter, her husband, and their eight children (ages 19-1/2 down through almost-four). Judi & Harry are passing the flag down to their children. I have only met one of my five great-grandchildren, but from what I hear, those little ones are being brought up with music in their hearts as well. My heart will definitely go on. I truly hope that is the new song Dan will soon be singing to us. 😀

Every time I go back and watch the old videos and/or listen to THIS one (again and again), I get both the laughter and the fun, and the "mama" and now "grandma" thing going (we have six kids, 22 grandkids, and five great-grandkids). However, I still don't have dry eyes when this song gets over (and I watch it often). But then...I'm that way, as my own kids and grandkids know. It doesn't take much to make my eyes started watering...which doesn't mean I'm not a WARRIOR, which is the other reason I relate to Dan and his work.

Thanks for reacting to this one. I haven't watched it in a long while, but I was still moved to see it again. You really should go and watch that first video he made and then check out his 3rd video, Living on a Prayer (he has remade that one since then). His Dad paid for him to have voice lessons after the Dragon Force audition cover and he stuck to them. You can hear the progression in his singing skills. It's an amazing transformation. Love that you appreciate him like the rest of us do and I hope to keep hearing more.
i know you react to a lot of dan's covers, and am surprised that you have not run into this before now. it is truly precious. those of us who have watched him for the last few years can really feel like we watched him grow into the talented and confident performer that he has become. it is truly inspirational. thanks for reacting; had not seen it in a while.

Right there with you. Every time I go back and binge on this again, it lifts me up. I'm glad you waited until now! Often, after the holidays, there are a lot of people who end up in a slump, for at least a while. This song is definitely a lifter.

Great stuff, eh? A testament to his talent, genius, and fierce determination. When this was made, in 2018, he was still very far away from his goal, and now, in early 2024, he’s almost there. What an inspirational guy. BTW, I recently took a look at the Siege of Paris video, where he does four vocal parts. I was pleasantly surprised by his creativity, his voice then, and his already sophisticated editing skills. It’s worth a look. Thanks so much for putting this on - it’s a great start to the year. I’m so looking forward to Dan’s one millionth subscriber video!

He did the weekly grind to build up his channel to a place where he wouldn’t have to do the grind anymore. He put so much of his life on hold to do that, and now, he’s closing in on 1M subscribers, he’s in position to do passion projects - original music with Eric July and Fearless, the Manowar tribute album, other covers. No need to be sad or worry about him going anywhere. The man is doing exactly what he was born to do, and he’s not going anywhere.

Well, if you take into consideration, the amount of work he puts into every detail of his videos, and into keeping himself fit, in order to deliver the quality he wants, then it's only fair, that he doesn't put out more, especially when he also has people pulling on him from all sides to do podcasts, participate on livestreams etc.
And he has his family too, and a life outside of youtube.

I've been thinking about that. I have absolutely NO DOUBT that even if Dan "loses the bet" and does NOT get to 1M subs before Gary does, Dan (being Dan) will already have figured out the perfect way to sing that song...and...YET... I cry a lot with this cover, a movie plays in front of my eyes, for those like me, who have been following Dan since 2013, because being the daughter of a musician, I know how arduous and difficult this road is. New cover is coming - MY HEART WILL GO ON - CELINE DION , TITANIC METAL 😂😂 TKS ❤
Ro--YES! Being the daughter of a musician is a wonderful, wonderful thing, but not always (rarely, actually) easy. I, too, am the daughter of a fabulous, wonderful musician. Interestingly, I am now the oldest singer/musician in our still-living parts of the family, but I have six kids who all can sing beautifully, and most of them play instruments, as well. That includes the littlest guy here at home, who will be four years old on the 31st of January 2024 (my husband and I share ownership in a small hobby farm, with our youngest daughter, her husband, and their eight children (ages 19-1/2 down through almost-four). Judi & Harry are passing the flag down to their children. I have only met one of my five great-grandchildren, but from what I hear, those little ones are being brought up with music in their hearts as well. My heart will definitely go on. I truly hope that is the new song Dan will soon be singing to us. 😀

Every time I go back and watch the old videos and/or listen to THIS one (again and again), I get both the laughter and the fun, and the "mama" and now "grandma" thing going (we have six kids, 22 grandkids, and five great-grandkids). However, I still don't have dry eyes when this song gets over (and I watch it often). But then...I'm that way, as my own kids and grandkids know. It doesn't take much to make my eyes started watering...which doesn't mean I'm not a WARRIOR, which is the other reason I relate to Dan and his work.
