According to Disney animator Eric Goldberg, one fan wrote a letter to Walt Disney saying, “Dear Walt, what have you done to Mickey?”. And upon reading this, Walt told the animators of these commercials to stop. By the way, who else came from the 2022 Mickey Mouse documentary?

Somehow It's a complete mystery of why they stop making rambler cars in America decades ago. But you can still find a treasure trove of rambler cars nationwide, but at a very high price. I recommend that you type in the word google and you'll see what I'm talking about. Also I like the UPA retro style version of the walt Disney commercial for the rambler car.
Sounds a lot like parental brainwashing. I mean, how exactly is using intellectual property to promote a product an act of communism? Mickey, an American icon, helping to sell an American car. If anything, it’s an example of Mickey being a sell out, by giving into capitalism. Clearly this was an opinion based on ignorance. Why couldn’t he be more like today’s fans and claim that the new design is destroying his childhood?
Do you suppose Paul Rudish looked to these commercials for inspiration when he did the newer Mickey Mouse cartoons? In addition to Mickey, Minnie and Pluto advertising Nash, there were also ads for the Hudson featuring Donald Duck and his nephews.
This is how on Documentary the tales of a mouse some person said dear Walt what have you done to mickey? That commercial thought Mick and Minnie got Married! Ohhh my days

With how much Disney is sucking up to the left wing nowadays, it's safe to say that the "kid" was right. I mean, Paul Rudish's Mickey Mouse could also be seen as "left-wing pandering".
Literally every animated commercial from this decade had this exact same angular style.
You're welcome. I love the stylized look that Tom Oreb did for these commercials.
Love this art style so much...

Tattle tail snitch, Mickey can't have nothing back than, not even ads.
These ads primarily appeared on "DISNEYLAND", as American Motors was one of the series' original sponsors.
This art style looks more like UPA than Disney.
It's funny you should mention that. Disney did some UPA inspired cartoons in the 1950s. Notably the shorts with Professor owl

Maybe it reminded them of contemporary (at the time) Soviet animation?
I doubt it was a kid. Probably a guy posing as a kid to get Disney's attention.
Becauae these commercials are aping UPA's style and a bunch of UPA people were communists
Tom Oreb, genius.
Thanks for posting these. Very interesting.
Those are absolutely Morty and Ferdie, wearing some of the standard outfits they wore in the comic strip at the time.
The '55 and '56 Ramblers were sold at both Nash and Hudson dealerships with appropriate badging.
Do you suppose Paul Rudish looked to these commercials for inspiration when he did the newer Mickey Mouse cartoons? In addition to Mickey, Minnie and Pluto advertising Nash, there were also ads for the Hudson featuring Donald Duck and his nephews.
Very possible. The Paul Rudish shorts have also made little references to this Mickey design so the creators are definitely aware of them!
This is how on Documentary the tales of a mouse some person said dear Walt what have you done to mickey?
That commercial thought Mick and Minnie got Married! Ohhh my days
They are married. Uncle Walt said so in 1933.
Michael mouse 💀

The "Communist Art Style Letter" is a bit of urban legend. There were other reasons
It's because early tv animation had a very low budget and was very limited
Wonder what Nash looks like now
Mickey and minnie has children in the comercial why doesn’t nobody talk about it?
