And I can prove it. Here's how house glitches work on console and PC.

    I don't know if it helps, but controllers can function like a mouse on console by pressing L1+R3(LB+Clicking the right analog stick in) and using the L2(LT) and R2(RT) as the left and right mouse buttons
    Edit: actually just tested it and it should work for Xbox players!

    I was so glad to see you pop up on my YT homepage again, and OMG, so worth it. I've been glitching for a year and a half and using the "stand against the wall sideways with the Rotate tool active and turn until it shows up" method (and sometimes the "glitch a bed under the stairs and go to sleep to get *into* the stairs" method to get partitions to fill the space next to the stairs and now you tell me I could have just used the regular ol' storage placement glitch? Mind. Blown! And I'm not even 3 minutes into the video! (I could not get the "rug on top of the door sill" thing to work, though, but I'm keyboard/mouse all the way).
    Your build looks absolutely fantastic! I did a similar in my FC's small house in the basement--made it a cave. I went waaay over my item budget, though. (And I honestly shed tears after the 7.0 update because *something* in that update knocked a lot of my floats off-plumb and it is *so cramped* down there that there's no way I could re-float those waterfalls--so when you say, "mistakes are beautiful," that hits home.But I love the way you planned out the workshop door and the door leading downstairs--the doors really do limit what you can do with the space, but you kept things lovely and simply laid-out, but the details make the build. Well done!

      You know you could just mod... LOL. It's so much easier. And the community is huge. As long as you don't say you mod you're FINE.

      @@Iceyicez Can’t mod without a PC and not everyone wants/can afford a PC that can reach the new FFXIV benchmarks. Mods also really test the limits of your PC, variable based on the mod & how many you are running, so not ideal for everyone. & there are still others who enjoy playing within the limitations of vanilla FFXIV. Maybe just let people play the game how they want to play the game. People here already know modding does a lot of heavy lifting for them. They don’t need you to tell them.

    this is so true, a fc friend always insist that i should use mods for housing, but for me, That takes away all the sense of making housing in the first place. But of course that's my opinion. Making an effort and trying to make a design by making the glichtes and yes, suffering the process is what really gives you the feeling of having achieved it at the end of the day.

    • @galatunia
      @galatunia  2 месяца назад +2

      Manually glitching gives you far more control as well! Which is great for those smaller details. Though I don't blame some folks for modding: it's usually an accessibility issue. These glitches got *hands*.

    Hi there o/ I've just started watching your videos and am really enjoying your content. I also play with a controller and mouse on pc, so it's nice to see a creator with the same setup as me to show how to do things :)
    In regards to the storage placement glitch, does this also work with placing partitions and collumns against walls with the new minimalist interior? I've recently started furnishing my small and have a floor plan worked out thanks to Makeplace, which uses a lot of marble partitions. I'd like to put some pieces flush against the walls, but I keep getting a noticeable gap that I'm struggling to hide or eliminate.

    • @galatunia
      @galatunia  15 дней назад

      Hey there Felodontis! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos :D And to answer your question: yes, the storage placement glitch does still work with the minimalist interior to a degree.
      I say that because the skin takes away a lot of the space the storage glitch usually bypasses. For walls in general it still works, but depending on what types of walls you use getting flush is going to be tricky (or sometimes impossible).
      For example: stage panels can always be storage-placed almost perfectly flushed against walls for whatever reason. Whereas the blank partitions you can put wallpapers on will usually have a small gap no matter what you do, but you can get pretty close. Every furniture piece reacts differently.

    I thought addons weren't allowed in FFXIV?

    • @galatunia
      @galatunia  6 дней назад

      Strictly speaking they're not. If you're caught using them in-game that's grounds for an instant ban. *However,* the community's gotten kinda flippant about it. SE can't act on accounts unless they're reported, so there's been an increase in players not only using addons, but using them in ways that flat out wouldn't be possible in the base game.
      Which is a real problem in the housing scene in particular. It's becoming common for players to use mods to place furniture pieces in ways they shouldn't be able to. Which has also lead to a lot of people believing housing designers aren't capable of doing what they do without them. Which also has the side effect of leaving console players feeling like they can't build a pretty house.
      That was the driving purpose behind this video. To show not only is it a big lie that you *have* to use addons to build a pretty home, but that you can even do better with less effort if you know how the game's engine actually works.
