At 43:10 Monique moved on top of Naveen's Decay token, so Naveen could have caused her figure to slide into the path of the Tomekeeper maybe? I don't think this would have affected the ending. Nice playthrough and an interesting game.
was gonna say this - it would've made the last two turns more suspenseful though! and suspense is important to the genre of vampires and zombies!
That’a totally on me (Naveen). In hindsight I should not have had my player piece directly on top of my decay token, it was camouflaged so well and Monique ping ponged her move so quickly.

As far as I can tell, Monique could havve gotten abasically equivalent result, by not luring the keeper until after she made her move. No matter where Naveen made her slide, she could have ended up with the same result she got in the vid. (I think.)

I *think* that Navine missed forcing Monique's vampire to move where HE wanted it to for stepping on the decay and grabbing the tomb...then she could have been captured by the tombkeeper on HER OWN turn...anyway...
Aside from that I LOVED THIS VIDEO... I have watched half a dozen run-throughs, and only NOW do I really know how to play this game... awesome... and I LOVED your strategy playing out...well done by both of you. This is the best I've seen from you guys!

@@BeforeYouPlay I agree. This is not my (or my wifes) type of game, but as usual, you make a very entertaining and engrossing play through.
Looks fun! At 22:27, I think Naveen could have taken out both of the vampires without using stench by moving and tossing the bottom-right-most bookshelf to be horizontal in front of the tomekeeper, then choosing to move the tomekeeper left on it's path since the path forward would've been blocked.
Yeah, would have had to move the zombie 1 to be in front of it first though no? Which he had enough movement to do

At about 43:10 he should have made her slide into the tomekeeper! He woulda got a point and she would have lost that figure, wouldn’t have been able to move the following bookshelf and moved that character twice, then at 46:24 it would have been 9 to 8.
She still would have won but it would have been one point closer lol.
You’re not actually allowed to move opponents onto the Tomekeeper. The Tomekeeper has to be moved onto their space for you to score. That would have been good though!
@@BeforeYouPlay oh dang! Well still great video! Idk if you ever played cairn, but this reminds me of it slightly. Like a more advanced version of it. Lol

This is really a charming game. The media dump is weird, but well, it’s worth it when the game is this fun.
It’s a very clever game, you’re totally right about the marketing push, but they have to do what they have to do.

I have one question though, I think at 36:50 the distract die was not expended and would have required 3 boosts instead of 2, is that correct?
Not that it matters as the wall rotating ability got boosted instead for which the second use was not impactful nor necesarry.
Please do a playthrough of Fields of Arle. It is one of the not so well-known Uwe Rosenberg games. What makes it unique is that it has been designed especially for two players. I am sure you will like it.
It bothers me a bit that the base game has a witch and a troll in the box art, but not in the box

What happens if you block off a location for the Tome Keeper? where is he going to go??
Every hex must be accessible by at least 1 path. So you are not allowed to completely close off a space. Hope that makes sense.
@@BeforeYouPlay what about closing up a straight line in the middle Im guessing this is not allowed too?
@@ivanristov5835 Yup you are correct, all spaces must be accessible and cannot be cut off (from what we understand).
Considering a late pledge on this and I have to ask, did you edit out any long periods of analysis paralysis here? Other playthroughs have seemed very slow and stagnant compared to this.
Hi TJ! Yes, we edited out our thinking moments. Although, the more you play, the faster it gets. We had played the game several times before filming so I don’t think the thinking time was excessive for this video.

This game looks really fun. I was hoping it wasn’t a crowdfunded game but it is and it’s pricey for a small box game. I know the base game has more factions but what you do and use to play for me makes it a small box game. Unfortunately I will pass for now until it hits retail.
