I love how the movie really explains a bunch of stuff Season 1 referenced
Like how Maki said that she hated using Playful Cloud in her fight against Hanami was actually because it was Geto's weapon of choice.
Or the multiple callbacks to Yuta being overseas in Africa was shown in the post-credits scene
Or the fight that got Nanami listed as the sorcerer with the most Black Flashes that we were told in Yuji's fight against Hanami
And why "Geto" doesn't want to be seen in season 1 because he's already dead in the movie

Miguel wasn't technically a bad guy. He just did Geto's bidding because of money. He was then hired by Gojo to train Yuta.
He wasn't being paid by geto. He just believed in him and followed and once he died he started helping train yuta because of his potential

this movie had todo fighting 100 curses, nanami doing black flash 4 times in a row and the reference why maki doesn't want to use that weapon
Todo only fought 10 according to the anime and one special grade I think

I totally missed suguru using playful cloud when I saw it in theaters. When I saw it here I thought, "oh shit, that's playful cloud. Ooooooh so this is where she got it. Nice." It totally makes sense why she doesn't like using it lol

Guys just to clarify Yuta is still a special grade because he comes from Gojo's great family he has the boundless ammounts of cursed energy and it was that cursed energy that turned rika into a special grade curse and attached her to him also since she lives in yuta in all that cursed energy it was basically like a hyperbolic time chamber for curses thats why in the beginning they said how does a girl with no known cursed energy turn into a rapidly growing special grade curse it was because of Yuta also Yuta apart from having Gojo level cursed energy has a hacked broken OP cursed technique like All of the other 2 known people of Gojo's clan has which is Gojo and the dude Gojo mentioned Yuta is related to.... Yuta's Cursed technique is basically quality copy where he can copy cursed techniques that he has seen or been around to a respecable level and use them for a set amount of time so yeah OP af

@@Arashi257 Doesn’t need to be a hereditary type, he can copy any cursed techniques according to the manga. The manga also implies that rika has to have consumed blood or some part of the person the technique needs to be copied from

It's unfortunate that many reactors seem to miss the prominent "squelch" sound effect right after the screen fades to black when Gojo is talking to Geto. Also, in the series, we only ever see Geto with a giant stitch-mark on his forehead. Gojo didn't just "let him go," he really tried to kill him.

Yuta was pushed to the limit, and his true blood and potential as a sorcerer exploded. The fact as a child he mustered enough frantic energy to create a love curse as strong as Rika-chan is amazing. The pieces fall in line so well when his heritage is revealed, and explains the massive growth he's able to achieve, as well as what he was training himself with in the background for months.
From what little info we get about Rika's past, she was *not kidding* about the last six years being her happiest. Which says a lot about her life up to the point she died.
Yes! I've been waiting for this! Time for some Yuuta greatness! Also, just for context. It's not really that 0 is a prequel to JJK, it's actually the other way around. 0 was published first and it was meant to be a short story with nothing going past what was shown in the movie. But the thing is, the four chapters making up 0 were so damn popular that the author was pretty much forced into making a whole series out of this concept. So, yeah. Yuuta is the og main JJK character. Maki the og "girl character", Inumaki the og "bro character" and of course Panda the og mascotte. While I do really enjoy JJK's main group, I will always have a huge soft spot for 0's. Their team is just so cool! Oh and Rika-chan was the og Sukuna, pretty much. Queen of the curses vs King of the curses.
So that's why there are a lot of similarities between Yuuta and Yuji. Personality wise, maybe not so much, but the circumstances that surround them, quite alike.

inumaki can't really just say "kill yourself" or "die" on geto because first he's a special grade sorcerer, there's a big possibility that his curse speech will rebound back to him if he goes overboard with the speech so he need it to be a weaker speech not instantly die cause it will rebound and he'll die instead

All i can say is that Gojo did not let Geto go, for now its a mystery how he is still alive in the show but you will learn eventually why he still around

I just had an idea, that the guy who ran over Riko was the guy Itadori went to "save" to the prison. Because they mentioned he ran over a girl while driving without license.
I don't know if this is spoilers but from what I understand Rika is not the source of Yutaa's power but Yuuta created Rika from his own power. It's always been him and his inherent power.. he's special grade because he has access to unlimited cursed energy!

I find it both increadibly badass and funny that in jujutsu kaisen they split Kakashi into two beings. One is Gojo, the teacher withpowerfull eyes, the other is Yuta the copy ninja with insane legend behind him. And the fact that Yuta is related to Gojo makes this whole thing even funnier.

This movie is a perfect segue to the next season because Yuta is gonna be a major character in the upcoming arc. Yuta and Gojo are distant cousins in a nutshell but what Gojo mentioned about Yuta's ancestor is important. After Gojo and Yuji, he's the next one to be OP as hell. Just wait, this is like just a glimpse of what Yuta can do.
I’ve heard that after Gojo is Yuuta so he would be like the 2nd strongest character.
i think he will be show up at the end of season 3 or the begining of season 4
Yuta isn't in the next arc though. He comes into the story after the Shibuya arc so it depends how much content they put into season 2 (considering it's supposed to run for 6 consecutive months!! :D)

Two things I want to mention. In the anime yuta is mentioned twice. Once yuji is told there a student working over seas. And second he did the Kyoto school fight event on his own the year prior. Also rika has moved on but the curse that she became stayed with yuta
Yuta was mentioned more than twice. As far as I can remember, Gojo, Megumi, Panda, Todo, and Mechamaru mentioned him.
But Yuta wasn't the only participating in the exchange right? They said he was the only first year. Though I can't remember for how long the current 3rd years have been suspended, but it's unlikely Yuta did it alone

The three part nunchuck Geto used was Playful Cloud, the same weapon Maki, Fushigoro and Todou used against Hanami, the plant cursed spirit in s1.

Fun fact when gege akutami started working on jujutsu kaisen manga Yuta was supposed to be the main character but still he wasn't getting vibe of it he wanted something simple who people can relate more after that he created Itadori Yuji as main character

Yuta was simply meant to be the MC in this short series. Nothing more. He never intended him to be the MC in the main story.

This was the incident where Nanami achieved 4 consecutive Black Flash's and where Todou became a legend for exorcising hundreds or thousands of demons bare-handed.
Gojo learned from yuta and at least gave itadori a weapon to protect himself.
That intro really feels like an intro for a comedic reality TV show with y'all in it, and I am ALL for these vibes. It's like Friends, but better.
I just realized that Yuta used Black Flash twice. The first one broke his sword and the second he used to punch Geto. That's a pretty cool detail
He didn't use it twice. His sword broke because he imbued too much cursed energy at once in his sword and a regular katana can't handle that.

They seemed to ENTIRELY miss the point that his powers didn't come from Rika 😂 Rika IS his power, the manifestation is a focus well for his huge af cursed energy. Her spirit is gone but the manifestation still exists. Gojo is even convinced Yuka can surpass him in time.

btw, cursed energy can be used to increase ones strength, durability, and speed. In case anyone hasn't caught on to this yet and it's also how yuta is so strong later considering he's just a kid.
I think that it was mentioned in the data book that the driver that killed Rika was the guy that Yuji and his friends were trying to save in the detention center but they found him dead instead.

"That's so good I want more" - that's what literally everyone was saying after that exact story was dropped as a one volume (one shot) manga in Shounen Jump back in the day. Because Volume 0 was so popular with only a few chapters, the author agreed to making it a story. Since Yuta's story was already told, they settled on writing a new story, with a new protagonist, set in the same universe with the OG cast being mere support around the new gang with Yuji at its center.

This is nonsense. Yuta was never meant to be the main protagonist because there was never meant to be a JJK.
This story was written as a miniseries called Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu High. It became such a big hit that the author got an order for an entire series and then decided to write JJK.

The timeline doesn't match up for that to be true. Because the prisoner was said to be a teenager from what I recall and he'd have been a kid by the time Rika died

If you remember season 1 Inumaki's power scales with his enemies power, he couldn't make Nanami do things after he ran out of juice and she was able to resist it. It's why he's still grade 2!

Im sure someone mentioned this to you, but the driver that killed rika chan was the same juvinile deliquite that was killed in season 1 by sukana's finger and that fushiguro returened his clothes to his mother.
@@Apathina it’s never outright said but I don’t know many other girls in jjk that got hit by a car. Plus in the manga you can faintly see the Rikas blood smear on the picture of the incident (On page 163 of volume 2). So maybe it is not cannon but I like it

What's interesting is that this story was the original introduction to the Jujutsu Kaisen world. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was the original manga that didn't take off, then the author just used the same world for Jujutsu Kaisen and the manga took off. It's why this story is a perfectly good introduction to the world, because that's what it was, an intro to a story that didn't originally take off

Notes for the movie
- Without a doubt Gojo Satoru killed Geto Suguru, his best friend. He is now dead in the main series
- Yuta, after Rika has been released, has been downgraded into a Grade 4 sorcerer. Hence as to why his white uniform has been changed into black.
- At the end credits scene, we now see Yuta donning the white uniform again. So that might give you an idea on how strong Yita is.
- End credits scene shows Gojo in Kenya, hence as to why Gojo wasn't present when the 1st years fought the cursed womb. That's when Yuji died in episode 5

IIRC the author originally intended for Yuta to be the main character but decided to go a different route for some reason, which is why we ended up with Yuji. I think that explains why the backstory of this show is so fleshed out, and I also think it's interesting how much Yuta and Yuji parallel each other; random nobodies that get inhabited by curses that display overwhelming sense of control over their cursed energy. Definitely looking forward to the upcoming second season!

This isn’t the case
There were originally no real plans for jujutsu kaisen to be made. In 2017, Gege Akutami, the mangaka, created a short series called Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School. That miniseries is the source material for this movie. When that miniseries was released, it got so popular that Gege was given the opportunity to created a more of this series, and that’s how the Jujutsu Kaisen manga came to be in 2018. That miniseries was retroactively dubbed Jujutsu Kaisen volume 0. Gege has said that yuta was never planned to be the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen because he felt as though his story was complete in his miniseries.
I feel so bad that i missed this movie in theater 😩

this is a v minor detail but i love to mention it, after the events of this movie and yuta lost rika, he went from special grade level to grade 1 level and it took him only 3 months to regain his special grade status

So shortly said, Yuta wasn't powerful because of Rika, she was that powerful because of him. Yuta himself is a beast. Also pretty sure gojo and yuta are distant cousins or smth, so yea he's pretty much from a big jujutsu family. Yuta won't be a new maki since he still has the same amount of power

38:05 “I didn’t see any Christmas decorations … maybe it’s not a thing over there.” Actually, in the winter time, you’ll see very beautiful illuminated avenues of trees, light shows, etc. However, Todo, Miwa, etc. are in Kyoto, which is a very ancient city with many World Heritage Sites, National treasures, and other structures of cultural importance, so they have strict rules to keep the city beautiful and traditional looking. That being said, I can’t say for sure as I’ve never been to Kyoto in the winter. If you go to Tokyo, Yokohama, or Osaka, however, you’ll see a lot of Christmassy decorations. If you come to Tokyo, I recommend Roppongi, such as the Midtown building or near Roppongi Hills. Also check out Odaiba. Enoshima island in Kanagawa is also beautiful, and you should go up to the top where the lighthouse is. Yokohama city’s Minato Mirai at the bay is beautiful too.

Is Gojo and Yuta going to be powerful because they have angelic blood or whatever the comparative analogy is? Like curses and blessings to devils and angels? Just putting that theory out there because they are ridiculously powerful compared to everyone else.
