Even with Jake being the moral center of this film, it's also amazing how criminals like Roger and Smiley also manage somehow come across as likable compared to Alonzo! lol
Yeah, because, like Smiley said, Alonzo has no honor; if he had been in Smiley's position, he would've still killed Jake in the tub. The only thing I didn't like about Smiley finding out Jake saved his cousin was that it would've been better if Smiley witnessed him doing it because Jake is a cop; that's what he's supposed to do. The visual of Jake going out of his way to save her shows he's more than just another cop; it shows he's actually a good person and is actually trying to make a difference.

Every-day people in the U.S. needed guns later in history than in Europe because it was a wild and lawless frontier area. Europe was "civilized" for a long time, so the only people who really needed guns were soldiers and law enforcement, but in the Americas the diffuse population needed guns to hunt food and to protect themselves from large predatory wildlife and from rampant outlaws. As soon as I saw you were reacting to this movie, I ran to watch your reaction to this film. Another great Proforance is Denzel in the movie John Q. That's a great movie. Underrated if you haven't seen it that would a great reaction.
Damn, who edited this 😭
I follow you guys on Patreon, but my favorite part is your guys' discussions at the end.
Yeah, I wish all reactors would have at least 10 minutes at the end where they recap what they just watched etc. It makes the overall reaction experience better.
I love this movie. Never gets tired of watching it. Always love your movie analysis afterward. Both actors nominated for Oscar for this movie. Denial won it.

"I run shit here, you just live here" Is the most ego maniacal, disrespectful, belittling statement Ive ever heard. The sheer arrogance.
