    I'm glad that you persevered and finished the Corolla painting; it's a great achievement.
    You will know from history that the 'all-time' greats of the art world often started off their careers by visiting museums/galleries and copying the Old Masters. Even though you found it difficult at times it will prove to be a wonderful training experience as it will toughen you mentally. As an artist you probably wanted to deviate from the original Sorolla painting and include something original; but when you copy you have to stay within boundaries of Sorolla's work. It's like being in a prison mentally. Painting one of your own compositions would now be good for you to help release your own imagination once more. Glad to see that you are not hiding behind the camera as much in this video.
    Regards!

      Thank you for your comment! Sometimes it can feel weird copying another artist. But just like you said, it’s a unique learning experience ❤️

    I just found your channel and I'm binge watching it, Sorolla is one of my favourite painters so far, If you ever have the chance to visit Madrid, take time to go to Sorolla's Museum, it's worth the ride! I love how tour study turned out, it's gorgeous! Greetings from Mallorca💜

    Hello dear. I discovered your channel today. I wanted to write to you on social, but I can't find you. Your videos are beautiful and you have made me want to go back to painting with brushes! Lately I've been drawing in the bullet journal, but now I'm going to start again thanks to you!

    Great job! I’ve never tried to paint with these small, loose brush strokes.. Do you have any tips for it? Also what brushes do you use here?

    • @simonemoedt483
      @simonemoedt483  Год назад

      Thank you! I had to rewatch the video, but the small black brush is from Sostrene Grene. It is nylon, Nr 1, and very cheap, but I absolutely love this brush and use it a lot in almost all my paintings. We have a Sostrene Grene in town so I take one home very often. The other brown brush I’m using is from the brand Raphaël, Nr 8 from the series 8740. I think it’s originally meant for acrylics but when I’m painting I just grab whatever I like. As for tips on loose brushstrokes, grab the brush more by the tip of the handle and try to resist the impulse to ‘tidy up’ your brushstrokes (which is hard and I still do it a lot).

    I learned of a new artist today watching you paint a master copy of one of his pieces. You painted it beautifully, Simone. Now, I must order the book for myself.
