- Free-Fall Lifeboat launch at the NSCC Nautical Institute Strait Area Campus, Port Hawkesbury Nova Scotia. NSCC is the first Canadian school to offer free-fall lifeboat training.
It is a fun ride down to the water. :) Развлечения
now picture doing it at night dead tired half asleep in a heavy storm as your oil tanker is consumed by fire. incredible machine
Adrenaline is a handy stimulant.
Nice footage but the safety harness of the female coxwain is incorrect and if the lauch is from a higher altitude spinal injuries will be the result
Always wondered what that was like. Great Video!
???
Evan Jacobs p
it's like a roller coaster ride
Always wanted to know how this would look like, thanks! :D
That looks like fun! Now, how do they get it back onboard? Like to see a vid of that!
Well I guess as the ship is sinking you could try to line it up with the cradle lol, but I’d assume they have a crane or something to fit them on
@@Myname-il9vd Need too know incase one forgets the jewels...LOL
The sled which it slides off of has a recovery position and it allows the life boat to be loaded back on the ship that way
ruclips.net/video/fTvDJHyctH0/видео.html
There are 2 parts to the mechanism it sits on. The rails and the davit arm which can swing out over the water just like a typical davit crane. The boat can be launched in the same way without requiring a freefall.
Excellent video, job well done! =)
just like the one from captain phillips
ThatOneKid yep
TheAmateurAsian very similar, it’s a great film.
JUS LIKE DA ONE FROM DA MOOOOOOVIE
Can your kind ever make any sort of statement without bringing up some sort of media? Holy shit.
@@bigsyrup8567 dude he is probably a kid, why are you upset ?
Yeas
Captain Philips is my best film
Terrific! Great stuff, like to do it myself. (The guy at the end with his hands in his pockets is either very able or a bit naff.)
As the coxwain is forward facing, where's the head restraint to prevent whiplash?
Спасибо за это видео Благодарю Молодцы!!!!!!!
very cool video! Thanks
Tools In Action hi
Really nice video. ... Helpful video to train the people and easy get the idea in to mind. .... This motion picture speaks more than the words. ...... Thanks. ..
7 years ago but, thats alot of ...
I loved going to nscc, they care about the hands on experiance
I love those who can smile in trouble…- Leonardo da Vinci
The jack system to launch boat seems like it could be a issue . Hope there is a secondary launch option
Yuppy!!! Shipwreck is so fun!!!
Well done, Lass!
Awesome footage... Where is the music from?
Bucket list! Have no clue where to even ask where can i try this. But i shall!!!!
Looks brutal
WOW FIRST 2014 VIDEO THAT CAMERA LOOK GOOD
Amusing!
Freeeeeeee freeeeee fallin
OH PLEASE that thing was practically in the water already.
How does that have anything to do with training for the process of preparing and launching a free fall boat? Do you really think a more violent deceleration from a higher fall will add anything useful?
gobby prick should give a clue !
Gobby Prick no
Agreed
On higher heights the seats would have to be facing up to the sky to prevent injury and death. They had people die from the breaking of the necks facing forward as they hit the water.
This lifeboat has a capacity of 20 persons and 19 are facing up to the sky, it’s only the coxswain that sits forward like that. Did it today, very cool experience!
Free fall life boats have launched much higher.
At 66 YO, I wouldn’t want my POS neck launching in a forward facing seat, I would love to launch in a aft facing seat-that would’ve a thrill.
Where's the video from outside the boat? It would have been way more exciting seeing it come of the boat and hitting the water.
Well one can see clearly the force of impact with the water , the Life boat can take that but wouldn't the sit be more beneficial if it was on a spring so to avoid backlashes ? If a human jumps from that high would sink deeper because the heights , weigh , fall . ?????
She is brave :)
i love this video
“You asked for this Irish!”
I think thats how the line goes?
Now actually drop from the back of a freighter. 40 feet up
Its a school man, its more to learb how the process works in the event its needed
that must be rlly fun
Engraçado vi alguns comentários em Outros vídeos por leigos que esse queda quebraria todos os ossos das pessoas!
The ones who were inside probably did the biggest yolo in their life
Does it play the cool music too?
What she going just before launch?
The seats should be positioned in the opposite direction to the water. That way the cervical vertebrae do not suffer a whiplash.
in another video i saw, looks like all the other seats on the boat are facing the other way, but i guess the operator has to be facing forward and "takes one for the team" 🤷
The question is how u get it back up there lol
Bryan Micklewright thats the whole point you want to get off not back on
ulfpe yh but how do thay get ther boat back up there to next launch
This is a special scenario since it was a test, so they probably got a crane or something. But these types of boats are meant to escape a sinking ship, so they're not really meant to be reinstalled.
Actually the ship has davit arms that can readily pick up a launched lifeboat and put it back at any time.
you can throw it back up if ur strong enough
I believe ship launch equivalents are at 30 meters and pull up to 18 G's....
There's no way it pulls up to 18Gs. That would significantly decrease survivability.
I read that it is "only" about 14 g from 30 m nowadays because of a better shape of the boats.
Not to sure of the guy's but 30m is on the high end. From that high up they actually plunge in underneath the sea before its buoyancy propels it back up ala Red October.
Good demo. Just saw the video of the El Faro. They could have used these lifeboats sadly. RIP.
What kind or make is that small orange boat at the end of this video?
It's a NorSafe Rescue Boat, hard to tell exactly what model it is as they have several that are pretty close. They make them in my hometown. Porbably same manufacturer as free fall rescue boat as well. They have a very nice english website: Viking-life com
For those cooling lines you should try to use a sacrificial anode.
Que valiente mujer
Just like the arrestor hook landing on an aircraft carrier.
Very much like a swim off in a amtrack
I AM DE CAPTAIN!!!
А чья это "Беда"?
That looks like fun....I'd do that.
Weak... do a drop from a oil rig or the accommodation block of a container ship
Weak... Make a RUclips channel pop out a video that gets 2 million views instead of shitting on the guy that did
looks like fun
I have a question, how do they get the lifeboats back up when they have done a test launch? Please answer!
The top frame swings out with a wire and it gets lifted up by the stern and then winched back up its track, is the simplified version of self recovering of it.
this reminds me of a movie
Was that Danica Patrick Driving ?
Can I pay to experience this? It may be a good fundraiser.
Nice drop. But her free hand should have been on the opposite side harness.
This look fun
want to live in one of these
Definitely whip flash
Why are seat face forward
Remind me of Captain Phillips
feels microgravity in several miliseconds
Melhor q o Titanic
This year I'll be buying one of these to turn it into a house boat. I'll keep it in the water though and won't try to launch it...
Uncle Dodge that’s a great idea I’ll maybe try it and can you post some of the vids on your channel
@@bobdabuilder3324 Somebody else did it before me! ruclips.net/video/gPkllfA_cVE/видео.html
I thought the design was to have the people sitting backwards to absorb the impact.
I think the passengers are. I guess the pilot isn't.
A broken neck is quicker than burning to death.
This be fun
This music is epic haha
That must be scary...
now imagine 30 meters
50 meters
Nice
Im the captain now
Launch Craft Before Rig Fire Melts Boat.
Now do it from 30m :D
Nice vidio
Thanks, but I’ll take my chances on the ship.
I would totally yell "Cowabunga" when plunging into the water.
Has anyone been in one of those lifeboats before or a normal lifeboat
What do you mean with normal lifeboats
Those are normal lifeboats
I hope that I never have to abandon ship, those freefalling lifeboats make me feel giddy. Therefore I will stay on dry land.
Deslynn Sporne most cruise lines don’t have free fall ones they have ones that slowly deploy you
Watch captain phillips part 6 clip to understand
Most cruise ships have boats that are lowered into the water, not freefall.
why do they do this
I am the captain now
How high is that launched from?
Wow
0:50
i am the captain now
0:55
Yeah great fun..... now ride me straight to my Doctor, as my spine is now a few inches shorter!
I would...
Rip spine.
Well the handbrake obviously didn't work..
That is not a handbrake.thatnis the release lever
Off-shore the height is a lot more. You go down reverse seating.
The passenger seats are backwards facing. The operator always faces forward so they can make sure they aren't going to hit anything on the way down, and so they can properly pilot once underway.
who is the realy inventor ??? wat vooruinvinder ??? isn't French ????
Wtf is wrong with you?!
wrong? alex don't speaky de English..
The inventor is french Living in Toulouse
TO BAD THEY DONT SELL THESE TO PUBLIC WOULD MAKE GREAT DRY BOAT SO WE DONT GET WET IN WEST BC CANADA WATERS
