This is so much better than the usual stuff on TV. So glad I can get RUclips on my TV though I have to go on my PC if I wanna 'Like' or comment. Be great if your still with us in years to come. Shame there was no footage through Hastings near where I live - I presume you pass through there before Dungeness.
Hi Scotch I think I did go through Hastings, shame I didn't get any evidence! Seem to remember a nasty climb from the coast going inland, infact that's the same for most of those places along the way. Great to hear you're enjoying the vids I hope to make more
Man!!! Adventure after adventure, feels like I'm right there only I don't have to work as hard. I too have come across the monster drink situation, right when I thought I couldn't ride anymore or stand. It had the same effect on me as well (actually the exact same effect). Not a good feeling when you're coming out the other side. Today I was on a ride. But the winds were dangerously strong. They almost blew me off the darn road in several occasions!!! Not doing that sort of thing again!!! Anyway, thx again for yet another great video 🚴
Took me 4 days to cycle from Bridgwater to Gravesend so I’m very impressed by your effort. I hate cars coming past so I stick to lanes, which is one of the reasons I’m so slow. Interesting how quiet some of the lanes are when there’s huge roads nearby. But, beware of posties stopped just around blind bends! Good luck with the big ride.
Great ride, Adam! You are an inspiration for me. I am working on my long distance endurance (and my dirt pile competence). Your mentioning of seven deaths reminded me of the nine lives of cats (or Tomas Katz for cineasts' sake). I wish you and all fellow cyclists a safe journey 🙏.
Respect Adam. Chapeau to you. I don't ride on busy roads any more. Been knocked several times in years gone by don't want it happening again. I value my life. I plan routes meticulously now if I am riding in an area I don't know which in the UK likely means zero cycling infrastructure. Did you not have breakfast at the Premier Inn eat as much as you can and take a Tupperware container?
Great effort, I think your dodgy plant would be Bindweed, great for insects but a pita in your garden. Desert refers to the amount of available water, so you can have them rock up in all kinds of funny places (even Kent) well done for escaping death.
Fair play. :-) Pointy roof kent barns are oast houses IIRC. I have taken to offroading again as had way to many close calls on the road with motorists on my own long distance adventure earlier this year. I reckon 5hrs on the cx/gravel conversion offroad, with a few bits of back lane to string it together is worth double the road distance/time.
Impressive couple of days in the saddle. I currently live in West Sussex but come from Canterbury so was intrigued by your choice of route. Very aggressive drivers down this neck of the woods, spend my daily cycle commute avoiding dodgy bus drivers in particular. Still havent switched my single speed to a fixie but hope to give it a try soon.
A Cinelli track stem turned upside down would get some of that weight off the arms! It might just make the drops useful again. You might even have to lower that stem by a couple of spacers. If you can't hold a position, it's time to try something different. Sometimes raising the saddle and moving it forward a bit helps too.
Ah, the Upton Scudamore-Warminster mound, the elder statesman of piles of dirt. Surely it's only a matter of time before English Heritage schedule it as an ancient monument. Deeply impressed by your 600 km ride, this would take me at least twice as long. Incidentally, you might try Richard Fairhurst's cycle.travel route planner, which tries to find quiet roads. Alas, there are places in southern England where these simply don't exist.
If I have to get thro a busy roundabout, I get off the bike and walk thro. I got hit on one some years ago and so have several others I know, they are very dangerous road features. A class trunk roads are best avoided in general, its not worth the risk.

@@adamwatkins Thanks for replying - greatly appreciated - good to know you gonna make some more vids - I will look forward to watching them.
Super display of endurance Adam. Well done. I do lobe your running commentaries. 😉
Just a quick 600km then..!! Holy bold dirt piles..!! Sweet ride.
I like what you did there with regards to the route, not just a pretty face Mr Watkins aye!

"Watch out for gout" keeping eyes peeled, haven't spotted any yet!
good to hear it, can never be complacent !
Another classic.
Thanks for the supply, of my equivalent to EastEnders!

Gary the drivers were bad, terrible route planning from me, hope you are enjoying SS or fixed whatever you prefer
oast houses, found in hop growing areas for drying the stuff.
convovulus is the white climber, there is a more pretty ,less hardy type, grown by gardeners, which is blue and commonly called Morning Glory....

I’m disappointed, you cut out my hometown! You skipped between Worthing and Hove and missed out Shoreham by Sea!!
What gear ratio did you commit to in the end for this latest mission? 46:17? Well done regardless, good watching!
Still on 48:17 I picked a flat route for it 👍
@@adamwatkins I've used that ratio. A bit heavy except for flats.
13:24 that's an old Oast House!

And how was the langster? I heard some chaincreaking? Is it up to this just like you?
yeah a few complaining noises but i assume it thought it would get an easy life hacking around london. It was in for a shock
That road into Dungeness is awful. Great ride 👌
yeh i dont think i need to go back there again , phew
That petrol station has very specific opening times - 645am - 945pm 🤔
Eye sore the sign!
Great ride Adam
