I instantly knew that by the way you said "they get EVERYWHERE" you had the same experience as me and everyone else lmao, at one point my room desk looked like someone had seasoned it with black pepper all over it. I would go to bed after a few hours on my PC and wake up in the next morning with my pillow full of those goddamn black little dots all over it. Never buying a fake leather thing again, my DxRacer chair is starting to degrade as well, what a nightmare
there's a big difference in sound. after changes to a somewhat fluffy earpads, the sound is a bit more crunchy. but I guess I would be used to it after some time. With pu leather earpads, I replace about once or twice a year.
there is no big difference, velour pads slightly reduce bass and sound insulation, but it's really little that can be measured with just a microphone. Choose the best comfort and forget about this
fkkkkkkkk lmao i gotta go find some pleather earpads had to switch to the velour ones hadnt used them since i got this headphone 1770. my god my basshead ass is crying rn
Wow I just switched from leather to the fabric ones and the outside sound is WAAAAAY louder now. With the leather ones I couldn't hear my PC, now I hear the fans going.
Thank you for the frequency chart. PU (fake leather) sounds better but it is too sweaty to use for long. However it is a challenge to find velvet with slimmer paddings so that the holes are big enough to accommodate my ears. I just buy and try.
I wear glasses with blue light filtering lenses while I game, and I use velour ear pads because the leather ones press the frame against the side of my head, which is very uncomfortable, however the softer velour ones don’t do this
I get that something as porous as velour will leak some sound, and leather could get sweaty, but the way PU quickly flakes off is absolutely ridiculous, and it baffles me that they're the standard. Surely, there's a better option. I'd rather just have pads made of velour, or maybe just an uncoated dense sponge-like material, not unlike the old-school walkman headphones - sound leakage be damned. At least those you could wash a few times before eventually replacing them. But I can't believe we can't come up with something with good sound insulation that's also breathable and reasonably durable. And price be damned - you probably want to keep a decent set of cans for 10 years anyway. If we can put a man on the moon....
I still don't know which one to use, the velour are so comfortable but the bass and overall sound quality is a lot worse than when using the leather ones. sound quality over comfort??
best way is search for a specific model, if you cant find ear pads for your headphones, then you can use this video guideruclips.net/video/X4Gp9NBT-u0/видео.html
time to cry so i wasnt tripping. have a dt1770 never used the velour earpads. the pleather one loved the bass. now its like a more balanced sound mids and highs are clearer fkkkkk xD

thanks for this comment I was searching for comparison, now I will switch my leather with velour pads, thanks again man :)
Oooh... I might've to try some velour pads now. I find most headphones uncomfortable just because they press on my glasses.

Velour ear pads are just as fluffy as my BLAHAJ shark from IKEA 😂
They are :)
Does velour not peel off like pu leather? Cause I don't want to keep spending money on changing cups
no, there is nothing to peel off.
I notice that the cloud alpha's earpads are deeper than the cloud 2, could this increase or worsen the bass?
I don't think it will be noticeable.

it is one of life's hard choices. I use Sennheiser HD600 headphones, and they has only velour ear pads.
Dis the velour gives enougg sound insulation for you to play in a room with a lot of peoples without getting annoyed by the noises those peoples make
it depends on how much noise those peoples make. The best result is trying both ear pads - velour and leather and find best for your purposes.
Hey, how about Velour pads vs Mesh pads?
you mean fabric mesh?
@@TechscrewDIY yes
@@foxgirl7172 I haven't tested them separately, but the situation will be the same as velour pads.
@@TechscrewDIY velour gets abit itchy when im slightly hot or sweaty tho
@@foxgirl7172 with leather type it's even worse in hot weather

which one is more durable
velour :)
is there a difference between leatherette and pu leather?
most likely negligible, not as leather and velour :)
@@TechscrewDIY but which is better? I guess leatherette?
@@notyomix depends on your requirements, I love velour, they are so comfortable.
@@TechscrewDIY I mean between leatherette and pu leather
i hate leather ear pads my ears and hair around them feels wet after a little bit just use every material but not leather
and velour ear pads make you feel much better ?
