As a person who loves the training more than competing, I love these type of videos. Please continue to include these along with your other type of videos. You have very well rounded content. Thank you ❤
I love how Emily tells you just take your time , don't want to worry about other people, it's just you and her and all of us cheering you on , she is such a doll all the way around , you did well picking her
I would LOVE to see more videos like this one! It was very enjoyable! Wilma looks like an absolute dream to work with! Your horses are treated so well! 😊 ❤ 🐎
i absolutely love how much meg is focusing on not rushing wilmas training and doing what's best for her in the moment given how she's feeling! so many people would just force the horse to go jump big jumps and get out competing asap which isn't goo so i really do admire how meg is working with her new horse!
Wow! She did fabulous over the crazy poles, she adjusted herself..herself, both speed and foot height. Really clever with where she is putting her feet!!!
She is absolutely lovely! Brown or Bay is immaterial as her natural beauty shines through with her way of going and her gentle but thoughtful behavior. She will do nothing but continue to get better and better because you are doing all of the right things with her! She will go as far as you want her to go with that personality and I love seeing you two working together without the distractions of others…. I would continue with the pole work and begin to do some elementary dressage work to keep things interesting and different for you both. So excited to see her progress...
Great video!!! Meg, don't forget your Rich lesson--in the 15m circles, OUTSIDE HAND needs to STAY PUT. You're throwing it away. WAY more inside leg to a really solid, stable outside rein will help her stand up on those circles and work over her back. 🙂
OH MY GOD! I knew Wilma would be good the second i saw her but she is absolutely BRILLIANT!! She is so honest, forward and so loyal, even if she makes a mistake she keeps going and aces the next thing, absolute angel she is ❤️🥰
Loved how the 3 ponies are bonding Meg, Wilma is so sweet. Etta has grown so quickly she’s beautiful and I love how scruffy and muddy looking in the winter months just real horsey. I always looked forward to bringing them in and giving them a good clean baths etc ready to start the season .tfs😎🏇😎
Hi Meg Dear, I loved the week in the life of Wilma. She is coming along beautifully and I thought that she is progressing very well indeed. She has a very smart brain and is thinking things out for herself very well. Congratulations Meg, keep it up you are doing super with your lovely new mare. Jane❤️🧑🏻🦰❤️🐴
Love this video, especially the pole work. It gives such great instruction for my just-turned-five Mustang/Thoroughbred cross who, by the way, looks like Wilma's "mini me" in every way possible.
I too think that the hacking is one of the more important aspects of a young horse's life. They see so much and they see the reality of the world. Plus the gradient change and dealing with mud. Vital Meg vital.
Love the new gear on her! I always love seeing the greens and such on dark horses, I think she'd also look absolutely beautiful in dark red or dark blue colors if that company makes that. Thanks for such a lovely vlog, Meg! It's so fun to see Wilma learning new things and learning to trust her new humans. ^-^ And we've all been there with vaccine after-effects, Wilma, hang in there! 😅
I think red looks stunning on dark horses! I had a horse who was a black bay (not that I’m a color expert; my focus has been on good horse keeping, training, and riding. Never got into the intricacies of colors beyond the basics). He basically looked black, but with a bit of brown just around his muzzle area. Anyway, I had a bright red saddle pad which looked stunning on him! Sadly, I think someone “borrowed” that pad and never returned it…. But I think Wilma would look lovely in red!
It’s lovely to see your building partnership. I would enjoy seeing more of your self directed schooling as well as some of the lessons with Rich and Emily and others. So much to look forward to.
33:12 i loveeee that colour on Wilma. you are doing such an amazing job with her. cant wait to see what the future holds for u two, keep up the good work meg!!
She's impressive. Very chill, very mannered, with tons of trust - if something isn't working out, instead of panicking, she just thinks through it and does it right the next time. You're looking confident and you're ready to help her; I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun together. I really loved the pole work and your reasoning behind it.
I love the episodes with training, esp. your explanations for your choices. That lesson away was amazing..so new to you, to the place, and she was so sensible, so willing--already starting to trust you and your aids. I thought her approach to the chevron was just perfect. Strengthening the topline and back end is always slow, but frankly I see a little difference from the video of your ride on her in Ireland. By the end of January--certainly February--it'll be more obvious. Six months and you'll be able to see a lot more of her future physical self. What a mare!
She’s got a lovely temperament bless her. That last school was really helpful. Going to go and try and do it with mine while it’s fresh in my memory, thank you
That was really good to get a different viewpoint today. I've only ever watched the end result of your endeavours, so taking a peep at your training process was a real eye opener to all the fantastic skills you have mastered. You really deserve credit for what you have achieved in my view. I am almost 70 and haven't ridden in 35 years. I love being in your stable. Sue xx
I love everything! You made the correct choice in Wilma. You two really suit each other, fantastically. Can't wait to see more, especially jumping lol ❤
Super vlog Meg….love Emma, so glad she’s on board, very perceptive. Wilma looks like she has everything going for her, really nice mare. Keep showing her progress please, so interesting. 👏🏻.
I absolutely love how sweet you are with her ❤ your by far one of my favorite Equestrians. I'm 9 months pregnant and can't ride atm so watching you relaxes me. I can't wait to get back out in the hunt field!!! I'd give anything to meet you!❤
Thank you to have included your mistakes here and there. That’s seriously so nice to see. I feel like having a horse is caring for them 360 degrees. From physio to riding them to nutrition and supplements to planning their play time etc it’s just really difficult sometimes. Especially when you’re getting to know them. Can’t wait to see your progress !! x
As someone who is new to the training world I very much enjoy the informative videos showing what you do with her and how you do it! They are very educational as well as entertaining!
She’s so lovely. You are very lucky to have her. Please take this as a learning lesson and give horses time to recover from vaccinations as a matter of course. Good luck with your new adventures together!
Well im loving Wilma so much ❤ definitely got the connie brain and a tb back end. She's so well put together! Also, loving the comment that her muscles are like butter 🧈 😅 they've done such a brilliant job with her in her ireland home. Gave her the right start in life... 🏡 👏 she's definitely going to be one to watch megs thats for sure. Love watching this type of vlog when you talk throughout the entire session on what your doing with her and why its so helpful and interesting but i like to see the progress as the sessions go on and move up the levels. I like the way you're already very much in tune with her, especially picking up when she's tired, and it's time to end the session instead of pushing her too much too soon. The worst thing is to blow her brain too early on. So yeah, well done megs you've got a real gooden there on your hands! Cant wait to carry on watching both of your journey together. Enjoy her ❤
I’m SO happy that you bought Wilma! She seems to have a lovely disposition, and clearly has talent to go far with you! She seems to have a very good brain for a young horse; not spooky or wanting to bronc, willing to listen to your aids and a quick learner. I’ve got a young horse myself, 5 going on 6, who is the same way (except much larger at 17.1 h 😂) It’s SO nice to have a young one with a good brain, that you can ride without the worry of them unexpectedly acting insane, and that you can mould into exactly what you want them to be. I can’t wait to see your progress with Wilma. Slow and steady is definitely the way to go, but I know that you both have a very bright future ahead! Much love from the USA! 😘 (Meant to add that you do a GREAT job of caring for your horses/ponies. It’s nice to see other horse people doing carrot stretches and having the physio out regularly. You’re a great horsewoman on top of being a great rider)
I love watching her! I can see so much potential in how she moves, I think she's going to be soooooo mega! I'd love to see your second ride on her in Ireland! Also definitely need to see lucindas thoughts on her!
at 29:18 when they all had their ears forward was too cute , I love Wilma you two are the perfect match . You should try the sienna on her it would look amazing , love the vids keep it up Meg!!
May we see a video of her second try out and your decision making on which horse to buy? Am loving these videos, would also like an update on the foals please. Thank you
Absolutely love this style of vlog! It's so beneficial, especially as a teen with no creativity 😂! You two are such a match and you are going to go far together. ❤
Love the session at the end, and you talking through it. Really interesting and gives ideas for me to try and home because its sometimes so hard to think of new things!
I love the immediate relationship and confidence you have with Wilma, she is the one I thought suited you best when in Ireland. As your trainer said, YOUR horse,YOUR timescale to do what and when you choose, please don't rush her as she will try her heart out for you, but she is still a bit immature and needs to grow into the best she can be, also I would love to see Hobbit on board ❤ xx
Oh my lordy your keeping me going with my boy who has been with me since feb 2023 …. So far I have fallen on him 6 times, had my girth snap and had him bolt with me twice after he napped into an electric fence ……. You are my INSPIRATION MEG !!!!! please keep your amazingness going you are brilliant xxxxxxx
As a person who loves the training more than competing, I love these type of videos. Please continue to include these along with your other type of videos. You have very well rounded content. Thank you ❤
Awh thanks so much! More training videos coming your way ❤
Me too! My barn time with the ponies is waaay more important than trophies and ribbons. ❤
Wilma is so chill but very willing. Such an awesome horse!
So mega isn’t she 🥹
I just love her!@@elphick.event.ponies
I love how Emily tells you just take your time , don't want to worry about other people, it's just you and her and all of us cheering you on , she is such a doll all the way around , you did well picking her

That color looks amazing on Wilma. So nice of them to outfit her. They can also tell that she will be going places.
Really suits her doesn’t it 🥹🥹
Wilma's such an honest, willing and sensible girl. You've got a gem there!
i absolutely love how much meg is focusing on not rushing wilmas training and doing what's best for her in the moment given how she's feeling! so many people would just force the horse to go jump big jumps and get out competing asap which isn't goo so i really do admire how meg is working with her new horse!
You and Wilma are absolutely ment for each other ❤ she's gonna be amazing in the future 😍
She is so special! Can’t wait to see her progression with you Meg ❤
Wow! She did fabulous over the crazy poles, she adjusted herself..herself, both speed and foot height. Really clever with where she is putting her feet!!!
id love to see an updated "week in the life of Wilma" video to see her progress so far!

I agree... It was so much calmer and more concentrated with just you!!
It’s great news that Emily loves Wilma too. I think she has had everyone’s approval now. Well done Wilma xx
Great video!!! Meg, don't forget your Rich lesson--in the 15m circles, OUTSIDE HAND needs to STAY PUT. You're throwing it away. WAY more inside leg to a really solid, stable outside rein will help her stand up on those circles and work over her back. 🙂

Still only 10 minutes into the video, but I had to comment you’re doing so well with her! She’s lovely 🥺🤍
Yay! Thank you! X
Hi Meg Dear,
I loved the week in the life of Wilma.
She is coming along beautifully and I thought that she is progressing very well indeed. She has a very smart brain and is thinking things out for herself very well.
Congratulations Meg, keep it up you are doing super with your lovely new mare.
Jane❤️🧑🏻🦰❤️🐴
Yes I love the little at home exercises way more! They give me great ideas and are much more relatable than all the wild excursion vlogs.
I agree! I’m always looking for good training exercises to use as “homework” between my jumping lessons
That Green is gorgeous on her!
Isn’t it just 😍
Wilma has officially won me over. Her mind is incredible!!!!
wow her reaction to all that polework was amazing, just one or two looks but she just stays with you and keeps going. what a dream horse
Wilma is such a lovely willing to work girl ❤ I Look fowards to your Journey together meg🫶🏼

She’s such a good girl and so smart, such a fast learner… I absolutely love her!
Absolutely adore her!
Can’t what for many more Wilma videos!
Love these style of videos so so much ❤️!
To me it looks a little bit like Ari has taken on Ace’s roll which is very sweet, as if Ace taught Ari how to be the main man in the herd ❤
She is so lovely! It looks like she’s really fitting in and finding her stride with you!
She's impressive. Very chill, very mannered, with tons of trust - if something isn't working out, instead of panicking, she just thinks through it and does it right the next time. Yup! Growing up, my dad always gave our horses several days off after shots, and we had one mare that always needed a full week to recover.
She's such a gem its nice to see you so excited. Your bonding nicely and I love her name Wilma it suits her
Those rugs look really well made, nice details on them! Wilma is looking like a very special horse.
