- In Chapter 11 of The Mandalorian, Bo-Katan reveals to Mando that not all Mandalorians are like him -- that he was raised by a cult of religious zealots who broke from Mandalorian society in an effort to restore the old Way of the Mandalore. These "zealots," known as the Children of the Watch, raised Mando to be a Mandalorian unlike most others. In this video, I analyze the content of this episode, focusing on the theme of childhood, with references to Plato's Allegory of the Cave and The Little Prince. We have a lot to learn in life as we grow and collect new experiences on the path to growing up, but even the wisest and most experienced adults have a lot to learn from children.
Wow! Tom Richey talking about the culture of Mandalore as thoroughly as real history!
Man I love this channel
The man the myth the legend has returned
I'd love to see more episodes like this, enjoyed it immensely.
This was great! I like the incorporation of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave and The Little Prince. Oftentimes, I tend to forget how shows can have really meaningful and applicable messages if you just look for them.
I’m just happy thrawn was mentioned
Continuing this series would be amazing
wow your analysis of Mando is amazing! I never even thought about the trusting aspect of him. I love how your break everything down and use other things from our history to compare. This was awesome!
So glad you enjoyed it!
Tom thank you for making me feel like my obsession with star wars is validated by teaching it like it's going to be on my ap test ✊😔 💕
After a long hiatus.. he's back.
Dang man, you really have a grip on the character development and themes that I haven't heard before. I can see the influence of your history knowledge on your analysis. This was awesome to listen to, I definitely gained a much deeper understanding of what's going on. I'd love to see more episodes of this, even making it into a series. Thanks Mr. Richey!
This is the way...
Wow, he foreshadowed the end of season 2 without even realising it at the time, most impressive.
Awesome take!
Fantastic analysis!
In the first episodes Mando always told Grogu to spit it out and then later on he finally figured out that he actually needed to eat and started getting him food.
as a matter of fact i did enjoy this
Eyy, a normal Tom Richey video again!!! I never watched Mandalorian but it's Tom Richey so Imma watch all the way through lol.
edit, realizing the bell wasn't on so I missed on :(
I appreciate your support so much!
Yessss another great star wars video
Should have kept the helmet on.
Do you have a video on Georgia runoff explained? i would like to learn about it without watching a bias video like the ones I have seen. love your videos!
"The way of the Mandalore is to always keep your end of the deal"
Haha! Tell that to the Jawa who got cheated out of the jetpack, which he tried to trade Baby Yoda for. Kinda hypocritical of Mando if you ask me.
Liked it.
Lmao, APUSH is done for me but not Star Wars, what a channel this is!
more star wars
I liked it, thought what you brought up was really intriguing(wrote this while watching)
You gotta do more of these!
Really amazing video and how you combined real history with one of my favourite franchasies. It was entertaining and valuable! I loved absolutely love to see more!!
So they’re basically mandalorian boomer
Mr.Richey, Our class uses your videos in our class we just watched some of you videos on "The Election Of 1800" and we always love your videos, were about to do our unit on the American civil war and would love if you were to do some type of collab with MrBettsClass(ruclips.net/user/MrBettsClass) on the civil war maybe a parody or maybe a real educational video. Thanks -Anonymous Student
Why do you look like a Wahlberg brother
What is that metal track you use in your intro and outro!? I love it!
Has anyone ever told you that you look just like the actor who played Stuart Smalley on SNL? If you ever saw an episode of "Daily Affirmations With Stuart Smalley." You'd swear it's a caricature of you 😄
