Wish I had this knowledge when I was shown my neighbors Luger collection in the 1970s. I was just big eyed at seeing several Lugers just like in the movies.
Wow! What perfect specimens of such rare and now getting older by the day weapons and all their gear! So nice to see that other folks appreciate the amazing ingenuity and engineering that went into these things, but then having to function in the worst-case conditions as yet they're still impressive looking! 😊
Good gosh almighty that 1906 is breath taking! Everything about it. The condition of the pistol is impeccable, the holster, cleaning rod, vanity plate and I have never seen an adjustable rear sight like that.
Wow that was so cool , particuly loved the ww1 navy luger full kit with the mag pouch and stock also have a bit of a soft spot for the artilerys with stock and pouch ect had not seen the mag pouches before very interesting and again very cool thanks for anouther excelent vid 👍👍
We can actually have unaltered WW1 Navy Lugers here in Canada (I think.). I can’t believe they don’t exempt older collectables from the minimum barrel lengths here.
@@haroldgodwinson832 Oh Harold, Trudeau and his supporters are not fascists; misguided liberals yes, but not fascists. I recommend The Anatomy of Fascism by Robert Paxton. By his definition Donald Trump is the closest thing to a fascist leader in North America.
I have a 2nd Variation Mauser 1934 KM pistol. Is anyone running a magazine exchange to reunite pistols with matching mags? My pistol is O.3952 with one “Banner” mag and one O.4461 marked mag.
Dumb question: Why did the Navy and artillery have longer barrels? I had assumed that it was so that stocks could be attached to use them as carbines at longer ranges, but from seeing the holster, this is clearly not the case.

Admiral Raeder was in charge of the Kriegsmarine in the prewar years, not Admiral Doenitz.
Tom Witmman may be the best person to ask about Imperial Navy officers, he has a few of the active officer record books from that time.
Some U boats were lost in the war. Survior guns may be quite rare.
@Casull~correction; 'Most were lost' 75%
great vid tom
NORDSEE UND OSTSEE OSTSEE is the baltic sea and the other side of Denmark is NORDSEE west of Jutland and down to the English channel.

You shouldn't be too surprised. Fascists are hardly ever reasonable.

I like how similar my CZ 24 is to the Mauser pistols, even to the magazine.
Another great video, FYI, When I win the lotto, we shall have lunch together lol

Do You have any info if the Kriegs Marine used the P38?
yes. They did, but they have no special markings and therefore there is not a way to know which ones went to the Navy
Would anybody here know where I could get a pair of gloves like that? Would love to have them for handling/cleaning my guns.
Amazon has a variety of white gloves available.
@@LegacyCollectibles as always, you're the man. Thanks for the info!

Why would the holster type mean it can't be a carbine? Looks like the holster is designed to stay attached to the board stock even when shooting.
Ive noticed halo markings are random and not everywhere.
