    very good thank you !! just to make it clear; i thought if measure attenuation you only use the shield of the coax but you use shield and inner conductor..?! 2nd: if i use safer-software do i have to calibrate the vna device also or only load the calibration file from my pc which i have made with the calibration assistant? again thank you for reply!

      Yes, to measure attenuation of common mode current choke, I shorted the inner conductor and shield on both ends. This is to simulate the common mode current since the current direction needs to be same in inner conductor and shield for it to be common mode.
      I had calibrated in the device and just read the data in nanovnasaver.
