You know, I was thinking about how I needed a sledgehammer because I want to use it for Training my back muscles very aggressively. And then his theme song started playing in my head and here I am.
When I was a kid they aired that show in the afternoons about 5pm here in Venezuela. I NEVER forgot the intro song but I was too little to know the name of the show and even harder to remember cause it was in Spanish. Couldn't tell no one about it, couldn't find it on the Internet... Last night a friend and I were talking about old TV shows and he brought this one to the table.. When I hit play and the song started I almost broke into tears!!! almost 26 years later I could hear that song again!! so many memories..
steven romero Glad I’m old enough to remember the title. Can’t imagine how you felt, to miss this, when youtube is just there waiting for you to type the name. (Not sarcasm)
I'm from Nigeria but I had a similar experience with the show; only watched it twice or thrice but I was too little to remember much of the scenes except the introduction 😁
My dad had the entire show recorded on VHS tapes and we used to watch together when I was little. I’m 25 now, and I have a sense of nostalgia now for Sledge Hammer. I even sleep with my gun on its own pillow now.
I friggin loved this show as a kid. Even now, I find myself humming this theme from time to time, and I often repeat his catchphrase to people who have no clue what I'm referring to.
I loved watching that show and I was always waiting for the intro when the show started, but one of the biggest things about that show that I loved, was..that..gun. Beautiful slick matte silver body, and I loved that white ivory handle. A simple looking gun, but a gorgeous ass gun. I’ve always wanted to own any kind of BB or pellet type gun I could get my hands on that looked closest to that model.
Look at the sheer beauty of that cold steel... The gentle curve of the trigger. The seductive smirk of the hammer. The wavy grooves of the cylinder. The long and seemingly never-ending shaft of the barrel. What a weapon. Don't you just want to make love to it?
If my memory serves me right, he didn’t have a damn clue what he was doing! It was his sidekick that sorted it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I loved this series, tried not too miss an episode. 😂😍😂😍😂😍
most of the times, but sometimes was clever, like when found a bomb diguised as a clock in a watch shop by cutting the electricity, or when he undercovered a thief posing as a coffee vendor after being told that the cafeteria was going to close, and the local operated 24 hours.
My favorite bit was, after being humiliated during the whole show by a bad guy that had take him and a whole bus hostage, he starts hitting the guy. For every punch, Sledge gives a reason for it, like "and this is for calling me 'Honey' ". When the guy asks what the last one was for, Sledge replies, "That was gratuitous!"
I’m 37, I’ll be 38 the middle of September and I loved watching this show, unfortunately for the only two seasons it was on. I don’t recall what time I watched a price think the episodes I caught onto might have been reruns after it was already over I think, because it was always a late afternoon/early evening time that an episode was on. There is a commercial for some kind of cream, some kind of medical cream every time before the show came on and not only did I think the show is funny but I absolutely loved that gun. The beautiful silver was such an incredible mix with that ivory colored handle. I had a couple toy guns, more or less the revolver type as a kid growing up, and are used to cut out handle pieces of white paper or cardboard and tape it over my revolvers handle so it looked like the handle of the gun, and then I would wait for that medical premium commercial to finish and I would do the intro much like sledge would, picking up the gun, swinging around my finger the same way, and doing the entire intro with his body movements. I was so into that show. I thought he was hilarious, and I thought Dori was hot. 😂😂

This show was ridiculous and brilliant at the same time! From a time when people could take a joke and laugh at themselves. How we miss those days....... (Trust me, I know what I'm talking about!) 😂
My stepdad became a cop a week or so before this show premiered and after watching a couple of episodes I asked my dad if being a cop was like this.He laughed a little and patted me on my head. I remember that night well because he bought me a transformer and he brought us some KFC chicken for me and my mom and older sister.Good times.

ABC did the show dirty. In the show’s second season, they aired it against The Cosby Show. How low.

How do you know it was the worst when you were born 9 years ago? You weren't alive back in the 80's. Pshh kids.
Too bad they did have season 3. The producers and creators could of did a episode of parody of "When Harry met Sally."
goodass show!
