I think the problem isn't killing off characters. Or making it that any character can die in a story. It's doing it with no fanfare. When a hero dies we want it to be heroic. We want the character to go out in a blaze of glory. Not killed off panel, or drowned at the beginning for shock value.

@@Trevin_Taylor and that's reality, you know what people look to fiction as an escape from. Or as Hitchcock once said "They Don't Go to the Police because its dull." So while death is senseless in reality, it being senseless in fiction tends to be utterly boring, unless the senselessness of it is the point and tying into the greater theme of the work being presented.
With the drowning part, I learned this recently in a safety course, you can 'feel' perfectly find after being nearly drowned and saved BUT there usually is still water in your lungs and often they recommend you go to the hospital to get it drained or it could potentially drown you later if left inside the tissues too long.

To be fair, this video came out a few months after his first appearance in Ultimate Fallout #4 (August 2011) and the fifth issue of his solo series Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #5 just came out the day before the video and Miles replacing Ultimate Peter Parker was really controversial at the time. Mainly from people who thought Marvel was being too PC or woke or whatever racists say. (That's not what Linkara is doing though. Exactly. Don't underestimate the force of a tidal wave. If you get caught off guard and it gets you, you could very well be out of it before you even have a chance of thinking to escape. Regardless, if it wasn't the tidal wave, it would have been something else. The goal was to kill people in numbers, not to kill them logically.
Most incarnations say he only has line of sight teleportation, meaning if all he sees is water, he could only teleport into more water. Also, tidal waves are disorienting and you may not even know which way is up, meaning he could have accidentally teleported even deeper.
The worst part of the mess of an explanation for the tidal wave is that messing with tectonic plates is an established part of Magneto's skillset. Dude's done some crazy stuff with volcanoes before, which are ALSO caused by shifts in magnetic plates. The earth's crust is 8 percent iron, surely more than enough for Magneto to mess up a minor fault and trigger an earthquake off the coast of New York. There are lots of minor fault lines there, and while the odds of them moving and creating such a disaster on their own are tiny (thus why the West Coast, which is right on top of a MAJOR fault line, is much more prone to massive earthquakes than the East Coast), a superhero with the right skillset could easily exploit them. Literally all they had to say was "he used his magnetic abilities to shift tectonic plates, triggering a massive earthquake off the coast of New York City," and it would have been done. None of this nonsense about polarity moving the tides or what have you. If I, a twenty-year-old who has never picked up a superhero comic in his life, can slap down a good explanation, why can't the official writers/editors at Marvel do it?
5:30 "Does it involve going to see The Dark Knight for the ninth time"? Oh, god. Thanks, Ultimatum, for reminding me that I could be checking out much better superhero-related fiction. 7:58 Does that sign in the background read "Grand Theft Auto"? Ultimatum is so bad that it's absolutely BEGGING its readers to check out much better works of fiction, not just related to superheroes.
Just realized another weird thing about this story, after rewatching the Ultimates review and this one back to back. Why isn't Magneto pissed at Hawkeye? Why doesn't he focus on killing HIM especially? I get the whole "everyone must pay" thing Magneto has going on, but wouldn't it make more sense if he did all that AFTER killing the guy who took away his son? I wouldn't call it a plot hole, but it is weird when you put things into perspective. It's as if the stories forgot how much of a fuck up Hawkeye is. He was the spark that had Magneto go over the edge. SPOILERS - - - - - - - - - We know it was Dr. Doom (somewhow) and that Quicksilver isn't really dead, but Magneto didn't. Shouldn't he start from Hawkeye? And from a narrative standpoint, I think the story should have addressed that Hawkeye is partially responsible for all this. To be fair though, I rewatched these reviews a ton and I only just now thought about this detail. So I wouldn't call it a glaring mistake.
Magneto/earthquake alternate alternate idea that makes more sense than currently presented: by focusing really hard, Magneto was able to take control of Earth's iron core and wiggle it a bit, causing catastrophic earthquakes.
Or even better he had Thors hammer....they could have said he tapped into that somehow and its storm making abilities....since its magic that makes more sense
Jfdrac Far especially since last time I checked, Mjolnir from the Ultimate universe doesn’t have the enchantment that makes if so only someone deemed worthy can wield it. Granted it kind of takes away what makes Mjolnir bad ass since Mjolnir in the 616 universe can only be used by a select few that are deemed worthy so you know that there is something special about that person if they can use Mjolnir.
I have to say, for most of the first episode here I was wondering what was so bad about Ultimatum. I enjoyed Cap and Thor, Spider-Man, Wasp and enjoyed the concept. It's far from perfect but not the worst thing in the Ultimate universe. I paused the video and got up to get a drink as I'm having such a thought. I get back and unpause the video. And Wasp is being eaten by the Blob and Magneto outright brutally murders Professor X. Oh god, this is going to be one of THOSE huh? I'm thinking the next 3 issues are where sh*t truly begins to hit the fan.
this comic was the ABSOLUTE worst. the only saving graces were: -Cap and Thor in Hell fighting the undead -The fantastic group shot of the Ultimates after Cap wakes up. -Ultimate Captain America period.
Arc13 imagine *reading* this shit. Being on the page right before, and getting up to get a snack thinking, “why the hell do people hate this?” Only to come back and be greeted by cannibalism.
5:13 Comic: "I got an idea..." "Does it involve going to see *The Dark Knight* for the ninth time?" "Maybe." Me: Ha! Batman reference, cool! ...WAIT A MINUTE, did they just reference Batman in a Marvel comic, And NOT in a way where they are making fun of him? Wow, you don't see THAT everyday.
Random to be leaving a comment years later, I know, but Magneto would never kill Xavier in cold blood, for ANYTHING! They are the quintessential comic book frenemies.
For anybody who was curious, (I'm guessing one or two of you!) The bald guy next to Gwen was one of Peter Parker's bullies named Kenny (or Kong by Flash Thompson) He was a major fan of Spider-Man and kind of figured out his identity. Eventually he developed a romantic relationship with Kitty Pryde for a while...
***** I actually knew that since I read the comics. I really like that character and it is a shame to think he's going to be killed soon due to Marvel's newest event, Secret Wars (the utter and full destruction of the Ultimate Universe). Spoilers, everyone is dying.
***** I hope. Speaking of which, Secret Wars is already off to a hell of a start. Killed almost all of the Fantastic Four besides Reed, Black Widow, Spider-Woman, Rocket Raccoon, Punisher is most likely toast, Deadpool and his new wife after he found happiness finally (he dies in his book, but it's ending it tied directly to do Secret Wars), I say all of Ultimate Universe is dead, and many more. Chances are the writer is going to pull a deus ex machina at the end and make every survive somehow, but it's going to be a LONG summer since this entire event is stretched over the next couple of months and almost all of the regular books have stopped or are tie-ins.
Man, the first sign that this comic was going to fail for me was when Iron Man up and out of nowhere stated,"Steve I wonder how practical it would be to take a bath in a Martini." Seriously, who says that?! Thing is though, I honestly don't blame Jeph Loeb for this garbage. He was probably going through hard times as it was written right after his son died, and when I discovered that, it made me feel sorry for the guy. I'm also sick of people criticizing him as he has written some truly great comics like BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN & DARK VICTORY, BATMAN: HUSH, SPIDER-MAN: BLUE, and SUPERMAN | BATMAN VOL. 1: PUBLIC ENEMIES. All writers have their high and low points, and while this was a definite low for Loeb, he does not deserve all the hate he gets. If there is some one to blame for this, it would be Marvel Editorial Staff as the whole ULTIMATUM concept was an editorial mandate and boy does it show! Violent gruesome deaths and clichéd awkward lines all throughout. At the end of the day, that's all ULTIMATUM is. Artwork by David Finch was pretty good though...
Yeah sadly I think if you look into the history behind some of the worst books in main stream comics 99% of the time you'll find that it was an editorial mandate
judgement boy Don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware that many bad comics were editorial mandates. Heck my most hated comic of all-time, SPIDER-MAN: ONE MORE DAY, was an editorial mandate! Because it was, it's caused me to declare eternal hatred on Joe Quesada. However, the reason I defend Jeph Loeb with ULTIMATUM is because for one thing, he's written some really great comics, and I'm especially fond of his Batman works. Just because he had a decline in quality (around the time his 17 year old son died of bone cancer) does not warrant fanboys to deride him as the "Hitler" of comics. Second was that ULTIMATUM was a result of a decline in the writing quality in many of the Ultimate books, as well as the developing continuity of the universe. That's why the editors treated it like a failed experiment and had many characters unceremoniously killed off in ULTIMATUM. So don't get me wrong, I know that most horrible comics are editorial mandates. The reason I defended Loeb for this story though is because the majority of the blame should not be aimed at him, but at the editors who enforced this comic (they're the real monsters!).
Naruto85RasenShuriken I agree don't call someone an asshole for writing one bad comic that was an editorial mandate ( ps I fucking hate one more day also I actually no joke burned my copy along with one monument in time they weren't worth being on the same shelf with watchmen the dark knight returns the killing joke my batman chronicles).
judgement boy I honestly wish I could set fire to OMD to. Unfortunately the copy I own is on the Comixology App and I don't want to waste paper to print it out! As much as I hate that abomination of a comic, it's not worth killing the environment. It be doing Mephisto a favor if you ask me since he's the devil! Also, OMD in itself was a crime against the environment. Just how many trees were cut down to print this garbage. It was not worth OMD Quesada (man do I hate him; he is my mortal enemy)!!!
I think the thing that baffles me the most about Ultimatum is Jeph Loeb as the writer. I have nothing against him (The Long Halloween is one of my favorite Batman stories ever, planning to but Dark Victory and Hush in the near future), but he has very little experience with the Ultimate universe. Regardless of your thoughts on Brian Michael Bendis or Mark Millar, those two guys were the ones who got the Ultimate universe going, they probably could've handled this better. Instead, Marvel went with the guy who wrote a single 5-issue story for the Ultimate line. Said story having numerous continuity flubs with the Ultimate universe like Pyro being evil, Valkyrie having superpowers, and talking like his 616 counterpart. Then again, this story was editorially mandated because the Ultimate universe was becoming too much like the main universe or something, so I doubt anyone could make this much better.
Looking at the comics in retrospect, it could not be more obvious from the ultimates to ultimatum that these were written with the authors constantly writing themselves into corners and then just ignoring the corner they wrote themselves in.
'They need to convince me, as a non fan, to get interested in this universe. After all, the best kinds of event comics are the ones that even though you've never red about the characters before, it makes you want to learn more about them.' And that is exactly why I picked up Hickman's run from Avengers all the way up to and including Secret Wars after not buying any current comics for at least 10 years.
Ultimatum, where to begin, let's see, kill like what 30+charcters for nothing. I mean daredevil, really, um doesn't he have a radar sense that stan lee even says is better than spidey's spider sense. Really wolverine, here's what i think happened; Leod is really drunk and is told to write this story and begins to write. 2 hours later he tell marvel and they say "sure man let's do this". Also ultimatum did give us good things like miles morales and um..........miles morales. Yeah ultimatum didn't really gives anything, but it took our love for the ultimate univese R.I.P ultimate marvel 2000-2009 you were so young.
Everything that Linkara said I agree with... except him dissing Hela's crown. Hela's crown is her most important part of her wardrobe. Without it she can't leave Hel without half her body decaying. It is accurate to how it has been since her first appearance.
''Marvel's equivalent to Countdown'' At least it didn't happen in the whole fucking multiverse like in DC. Ultimatum only affected the Ultimate universe (story wise); Countdown dragged most of the DC Multiverse and future timelines into it's awfulness! EVEN TIME ITSELF WAS FUCKED BY COUNTDOWN!
I know this is years later buuuuuuuut. On a side note with Captain America drowning but being fine and then collapsing, I think that's an actual thing. It's called "dry-drowning" or "secondary-drowning", the first one happens when you breath in water but although it doesn't reach the lungs, it makes one's vocal chords spasm after they lave the water and it shuts off the airway. The second one happens when water does enter your lungs where it builds up into a pulmonary edema, which is basically more trouble breathing. Dry-drowning typically happens right after you get out of the water while secondary-drowning happens anywhere from 1-24 hours after leaving the water. I can't remember if in the next issues they actually explain this or what, but still, the more you know type of dealie.
That stinger with the Entity was more alarming and gave me more of a feeling of suspense then anything in the awful squicky comic you reviewed. Geez, how is it a villain in a web series about a guy reviewing comic books is so freaking scary???
I continue to be very pleased with how you constantly voice IronMan as a drunken moron XD Also it baffles me how there can be such good ideas and sweet concepts - I especially love that it seems to imply Cap goes to Valhalla when he dies like a true warrior, which mirrors the stuff from the movie where Cap can shift Mjolnir and nearly lift it - alongside such ghastly deaths plied only for shock value. I'm surprised there was only one writer you've mentioned for this because it feels like a team of conflicting people.
It's kind of funny to hear Linkara lament how he didn't really care for how Miles Morales was gonna be the next Spiderman..when Miles is now the _biggest_ Spiderman out there, even more so than Peter (since Marvel loves fucking him over).
Out of morbid curiosity I DID try reading Ultimatum. It's as bad as Lewis makes it out to be. But there's ONE thing I noticed that Lewis didn't mention that makes the comic's most infamous scene worse. When Blob is eating the Wasp, her breasts are drawn big. Sooooo, we're sexualizing a female character who's being graphically killed and eaten. Big middle fingers to whoever had THAT idea.
I agree James, the sad thing is, the wasps death in Ultamatum is not the first tastless death that was sexualized! Sexist writers and artists really make me sick!
@@jakeproven256 They probably aren't sexist, just have sexual fetishes. Still, they shouldn't be shoehorning these in a comic intended for a general mainstream audience.
Poor Liz Allen, in this universe her father is the Blob and she has to live with the fact that her father cannibalized the Wasp and go into hiding because she was a mutant
Among other nitpicks, one sciency thing is, I think Susan Storm was overall DETRIMENTAL to saving people. From the sound of it (correct me if I'm wrong), she just literally pushed all the water out of the city. The problem, though, is that was a tsunami. And it had picked up tons of stuff in it. Judging from the flooding, the wave was a good 30-40 meters (about 100 feet) high, and we see later picked up cars and stuff. Unless Sue created a barrier, when the water was pushed back, EVERYTHING FLOATING INSIDE IT WENT BACK TOO. Cars, boats, people clinging to debris, hell, probably more than a few jets washed off from JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark! Congrats, Susan Storm! You just let about a million people get swept out to sea.
Ultimate universe:supposed to help new readers get into marvel with a more realistic universe, started off pretty well... Ultimatum:HEY WANNA SEE US DROWN EVERYONE BECAUSE WE'RE LAZY!
I could see Magneto kill Xavier. Mournfully, with his movements heavy with regrets, and with the full expectation of dying soon after, if only to atone for it. It must be the last step of his masterplan, the last sacrifice before checkmate. The only way Magneto would stain his hands with his old friend's blood is for the accomplishment of a plan so great, so perfect, it will fulfill not only his vision, but Xavier's as well. I submit that Magneto would not DARE end Xavier's life solely to destroy mankind. In short, I could see Magneto kill Xavier, but the conditions for it makes it a near-impossible hypothetical.
I came back to this review after the "Rumor" that the MCU is adapting Ultimatum for a film (I hope not), but I find it so ironic that Linkara says he doubts the new Spider-Man would get him interested. Like, that's hilarious!
Janet Van Dyne deserved better than this. She was already in an abusive relationship with Hank, her romance with Captain America ended badly despite it being one of the more healthy ones and now the Blob is devouring her corpse while she was being sexualized.
22:26 When I heard the Blob ate the Wasp I thought he swallowed her when she was small not eating her gets like a zombie. At least now I why people hate this comic so much.
9:04 Pfft, even if the liqueur distributor was killed, it'd just come back in a few issues. The other characters may not matter, but you can't do without the distributor!
14:05 The hip sway is actually slightly practical. I mean yes, it's to show off her hourglass figure, but it's also part of the way Marvel doesn't like having characters just stand there. Even if the scene requires the characters to actually be standing there, they'll angle something, t make it more appealing to the eye. Sometimes it's the camera, sometimes it's the eye candy's sexy hourglass hips
I am still pissed off about this trainwreck of a story because it killed off 99% of the cast for no damn reason just for shock value and plus was the finale nail of the coffin for the ultimate marvel universe as a whole
7:01 Welcome to the Kill Count where we tally up this victims in all our least favorite events comics this is Linkara and today we’re going to be looking at Ultimatum #1-2 and you’ll most likely see where I’m going with this Heh a Dead Meat parody for an event comic or horror comic save that for April Fools Days Lewis
Concerning the Hulk, I'm pretty sure he remained at-large after Ultimates 2, so I could see him laying low in New York. Not sure WHY Bruce would be wanting to do that in a high stress place like New York where he's got so many memories of destruction and death and his old teammates, but, hey, there you go.
This was what began the end of my comic book collections. There were other comics at the time with stories that seemed not to care about their own characters (and by that, I mean the writers seemed not to give a single fuck about what they were doing), but this obviously takes the cake. Now, I only look for what I know to be good stories, but I got fed up cherishing stories and characters, when out of the blue there could come writers and burn everything I love and throw it out the fucking window.
Miles Morales is only a few years old (publication wise)? The way he's become such an iconic character recently led me to believe he was a bit older. I mean, he's even in Marvels new Animated Superhero canon as Peter's black best friend.
14:24 The odd thing is if she had her hips swayed in the other direction The artist could've had her elbow rest on her hip because of the big country scaring the reason I say this is because I've seen it done before surprisingly on Wreck-It Ralph, Calhoun makes that exact position to rest her gun on her shoulder and it seemed like a smart thing to do for such a heavy weapon.
Jake Bryant well I got some bad news for you it looks like original wolverine is back and I gotta sneaking suspicion that old man Logan isn’t going to last very long
Charles Gorman yup I am glad original wolverine is back but personally I actually liked Laura aka x23 as all new wolverine because she’s a great character and plus she earned the mantle of wolverine passed down from her father but that’s just my opinion
Who kills off characters off panel and/or just randomly for no reason? That's horrible writing. It was Daredevil's death that probably pissed me off the most. He died in a tie-in and off panel, who does that to an important character?
I use to read ultimate spider-man but never kept up with the rest of the ultimate universe. In the pages of that series I only got a small glimpse of ultimatum but remember thinking if Peter was to die there it would have been a good , heroic death. I would argue better than the death he did get. Seeing what was happening in the meantime and all the pointless character deaths, it's just a shame they got it so backwards.
Wow, looking at the opening where Linkara talks about Miles Morales and not being a fan of the Ultimate series is pretty funny now that the same Miles is the de facto Spider Man in the main universe. Hindsight and nobody could have seen that coming back then.
Thanks a lot Jeph Loeb. Between your Ultimate Spiderman show, and Dan Slott's shitty run with Spiderman . You made Spiderman dead to me in the comics and cartoons.
The ultimate universe has its good and bad moments. In a absolutely equal ratio. Most other comics usually lean to one or the other but nope. Ultimate splits it right down the middle
@@thomasraines1396 Well everyone in the Ultimate universe is a cannibal already so I guess it doesn't really matter. Seriously though, why all the cannibalism!?
Does make me wonder if Lewis will ever do a review on some stories of Miles Morales, whether by review because of a bad story or patreon of a good/average story.
So I was reading through Ultimate Spider-Man , and then Ultimatum happens. The Spider-Man version wasn't as horrible as this, but the whole comic I was like, "Dude, why did Magneto suddenly snap for NO REASON?" And then they killed Spider-Man because...I dunno, confusing reasons. Then I was done with Spider-Man after that. They DID bring him back for four issues (same writer, but new, sucky artist), and then killed him off. Again. So they can replace him with Miles. ...so yeah, I don't think I want to read anything else from the Ultimate universe. It was a really poor decision of mine to start out reading that but it's all my library had...
This comic is SO EDGY that if if Ken Kaneki screwed an Apex Seregios and the resulting offspring ate Shadow the Hedgehog and starred in an episode of Devilman Crybaby with a theme song by Scarlxrd, it would still not be as edgy as this.
eartianwerewolf except that’s what most real deaths are. People being hit by drunk drivers don’t “contribute anything”. You can’t want comics to be seen as more than a child’s distraction, but then get pissy when it has realism. Senseless death is the most common and realistic kind of death.
Oh and about that Who's Next notepad, the monogram heading is Daredevil's legal offices. Nice to know that's the only way DD is supposed to appear in this book.
i think what makes ultimates suck is the same thing holding back injustice. there are so many deaths that are unesassary and plot points that don't make sense

If the tidal wave took him by surprise and knocked him unconscious then he could drown.
@@Trevin_Taylor Wolverine and the X-men nighcrawler would be calling bullshit.

Hey! Blob eating Wasp's corpse was my "f*** this comic" moment too!
It was a LOT of peoples f*** this comic moment...
The "this comic sucks" in this video has to be the most genuine he said in these 10 years
The worst part of the mess of an explanation for the tidal wave is that messing with tectonic plates is an established part of Magneto's skillset.
"Why are her hips swaying."
Actually, I've seen that pose so many times that I suspect there is a reference somewhere that artists are using for it.
I always love it when Linkara dissects the scientific validity of some of the more absurd things in the comics he reviews.
Maybe it’s Grab That Auto 5.
David Finch was trying to tell us something.

We know it was Dr.
SpawnRevenge92 good point
Good point
You're not too far off...
this comic was the ABSOLUTE worst. the only saving graces were:
-Cap and Thor in Hell fighting the undead
-The fantastic group shot of the Ultimates after Cap wakes up.
-Ultimate Captain America period.
Arc13 I guess the final writing of the first issue is right
Karl Hurd Ultimate Captain America was a crazy asshole and he topped it all off with his “you think this letter in my head stands for France” shit.

"Maybe."
Me: Ha!
At least not X-Men the animated series, X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men kept true to Xavier and Magneto’s rivalry/friendship.
For anybody who was curious, (I'm guessing one or two of you!)
The bald guy next to Gwen was one of Peter Parker's bullies named Kenny (or Kong by Flash Thompson) He was a major fan of Spider-Man and kind of figured out his identity.
BodySprayMan What a shame. Plus you just know they're going to recreate another a few years later when they'll need new readers...

After all, the best kinds of event comics are the ones that even though you've never red about the characters before, it makes you want to learn more about them.'
And that is exactly why I picked up Hickman's run from Avengers all the way up to and including Secret Wars after not buying any current comics for at least 10 years.
Ultimatum,where to begin, let's see, kill like what 30+charcters for nothing. I mean daredevil, really, um doesn't he have a radar sense that stan lee even says is better than spidey's spider sense. Really wolverine, here's what i think happened;
Leod is really drunk and is told to write this story and begins to write. 2 hours later he tell marvel and they say "sure man let's do this". Also ultimatum did give us good things like miles morales and um..........miles morales. Yeah ultimatum didn't really gives anything, but it took our love for the ultimate univese

8:32, it's worked quite well for George R.R. Martin. But then again I think he gets a pass since it's his own characters he usually gets to bump off.
Your reaction to the blob part was priceless
Ultimatum was tragic but when Spider-Men dropped after that it broke my heart.
*Linkara talking about Ultimate Peter Parker being replaced by Miles Morales*

Oh yeah I forgot about her. Also who fucking said it was a good idea to have The Blob canabalize the Wasp's dead body.
Say what you will about the Death of Ultimate Peter Parker at least he went out in a blaze of glory fighting to the death against his arch-enemy.
0:40 ha, wait until 2019 and 2023 linkara from the past, then you will care
Hey, Linkara, Have you read the 2003 Superman/Batman series written by Jeph Loeb? It´s actually pretty good.
At least in X-Men: Apocalypse, Magneto had a more plausible control of the earth's metals, thanks to Apocalypse enhancing his powers.
Please make a 10 hour version of "We should do something! Should we do something?"
Jeph Loeb, one of the four knights of the Quesadalypse along with Alonso, Brevoort and Bendis.
"I only wanted to marry Sue!"
I wonder if they made that pun on purpose.
As a huge fan of Ultimates I and 2, this even still upsets me after all this time.
9:04 Pfft, even if the liqueur distributor was killed, it'd just come back in a few issues. The other characters may not matter, but you can't do without the distributor!
Old video, but Magneto could move the magnetic material layered throughout the tectonic plates to cause earthquakes and those tidal waves

The hip sway is actually slightly practical.
Jeph Loeb wrote this?!? NO! He's a GREAT writer! Dang....
He was until his son died
I am still pissed off about this trainwreck of a story because it killed off 99% of the cast for no damn reason just for shock value and plus was the finale nail of the coffin for the ultimate marvel universe as a whole
7:01 Welcome to the Kill Count where we tally up this victims in all our least favorite events comics this is Linkara and today we’re going to be looking at Ultimatum #1-2 and you’ll most likely see where I’m going with this
Heh a Dead Meat parody for an event comic or horror comic save that for April Fools Days Lewis
I, for the sake of not going insane, like to think the wasp got transported to a better universe and wasn't caniblized.
Ya know, part of me hopes Linkara reviews more Ultimate Marvel books just so we can hear more drunk Tony.
Accurate event comic tagine: worlds will live worlds will die nothing will ever be the same crisis on infinite earths

How the fuck did the blob get to the wasp???
The flood would've given him a perfect opportunity.
5 years later and the Entity stuff still creeps the heck out of me.
Thanks a lot Jeph Loeb. Between your Ultimate Spiderman show, and Dan Slott's shitty run with Spiderman . You made Spiderman dead to me in the comics and cartoons.
At least we'll always have the older Spider-man stuff; you know the good ones.

The ultimate universe has its good and bad moments. In a absolutely equal ratio. Most other comics usually lean to one or the other but nope. Ultimate splits it right down the middle

These deaths Linkara is complaining about happen to characters with legacies that span decades and aren't the author's to play with.

6:36 that's from a comic called Ultimate origin. It actually covers the whole "mutants are Man Made".
+knifebladepresents Ultimate Magneto is FAR less stable than the mainstream version.
Suspension of disbelief can allow me to believe, this person is building an earthquake machine.
This comic is SO EDGY that if if Ken Kaneki screwed an Apex Seregios and the resulting offspring ate Shadow the Hedgehog and starred in an episode of Devilman Crybaby with a theme song by Scarlxrd, it would still not be as edgy as this.
That was so god damn edgy.
I don't mind brutal deaths. I just don't like senseless deaths that don't really contribute. *shrugs*
eartianwerewolf except that’s what most real deaths are. People being hit by drunk drivers don’t “contribute anything”. You can’t want comics to be seen as more than a child’s distraction, but then get pissy when it has realism. Senseless death is the most common and realistic kind of death.
