I remember seeing this movie on a whim when it came out in theaters. I had no expectations abt the story. I knew of Miles Morales but that’s it. I was absolutely blown away. Listened to the soundtrack for months afterward. Only thing that bums me out is how many of my friends and family are still sleeping on this amazing movie.
All facts I’ve been trying to get my mom and sister to see this movie so we can go see ATSV 😭
I was wondering how an animated Spider-Man movie from Sony would even be like, but expectations were completely blown for me! The next one, ATSV, is surprisingly even better too! I say "surprisingly" because most sequels usually don't do as well as the first movie.
34:07 the reason why Miles survived while Peter didn't it's because when Kingpin killed Peter he used both hands to crush him while with Miles he only used one.
Also Peter was vulnerable from going into the collider

@@idk-ye7ur I mean Peter was basically already dying when Miles got to him after the collider explosion, he was weak by that point already, it's no surprise a final blow like that by Kingpin would've killed him.
That line Spider-Ham says, "The hardest thing about this job is... you can't always save everybody." Really chokes me up, even to this day. In every single superhero story, someone important to them that they couldn't save (like Uncle Ben, or Gwen Stacy in the spider-Man comics,) is a traumatizing memory that stays with them the most, their driving force to do their very best and try not to let anyone else die. But it's an impossible task, the cruel reality, and a rather mature theme that I'm glad they touched on.
And it hits even harder because it's Spider-Ham saying it. If you knew nothing about this movie and were hearing about it piece by piece from the outside this is where you'd expect the tension break (instead of a few seconds later when the roommate enters) and you'd expect the funny animal character from the cartoon universe to do it with some sort of overly emotion fountain tears or something. But no, even that character is sad and somber as he delivers an important truth. And it serves to unite everyone even more and drive the point home. It's the subtle but important sort of thing that helps make this movie the brilliant piece of filmmaking it is.

They also improved upon Miles’s character spectacularly. His character wasn’t that well received in the comics and the sentiment was understandable unfortunately.

Game Changer
Have you ever sat through a film and you knew that films would never be the same going forward? For example, Terminator 2, Star Wars.. the first Toy Story... Iron Man
Well this is one of those. This is a almost rather perfect film. Let me just say the the stylished animation is just top notch. It as if the comic book leaped off the pages. I've seen practically all super hero films to include the DC animated ones. This feels as if they took comic books and Playstation animation and just came up with this perfect look.
And the story is great.. the pacing is so wonderful. It is able to tell the story.. and an origin without boring us to tears like Zack Snyder has done in the DC universe. The story is quiet touching. And it allows us to have a pretty interesting Spider Man in Miles WITHOUT thrashing or having a Peter Parker like experience.
Plus our the villains are so well done..
But I think we will see a lot more of this type of animation in the future from Sony. I think they announced their presence with authority.. like how Dreamworks did with Shrek.. and how Pixar did.
It's been awhile I seen something so unexpected and so cool.
Great reactions for an incredible movie. This and Across the Spider-Verse are not only my favorite Spider-Man movies but are straight up my favorite superhero movies period. A beautiful feast for the eyes. You can tell a lot of love was put into these movies
