I can't stand the fandoms treatment of Jackson after his and Exer's fight. Exer essentially phycologically tortured Jackson for months, but it's when Jackson reacts negatively to Exer's overbearing apologies that people get up in arms. It gives me such big victim blaming vibes.
In real life, that's how most victims react towards their aggressor. And no amount of "they're trying to change" or "they apologized" changes that. The victim is going to suffer from those scars long after the aggressor is done with them. In the story, Exer gives Jackson no time to heal, and tries to move on because HE wants to. Though, in reality, Jackson was the real one hurt.
This please, explain to me what jackson's diary is about? I see that it's called jackson's diary but almost everything is about David or axer
@@davidsalas6030Exer is connected with Jackson's diary. Basically, everything that Jackson write on his diary happens with Exer, that's the reason Exer is in everything. Jackson and Exer are the protagonists of the series. If I'm not wrong, season 1 was focused on Jackson and season 2 is focused on Exer.
@@davidsalas6030 honestly I don't even think it's about Jackson anymore because Exer is the authors and everyone elses favorite character and it shows so it should just be Exer and a bit of Jackson 👍

I actually like Exer a lot, he was a dick at first but I think part of why he hated Jackson was because he was so scared that people would find out about his magic. That doesn’t give him the right to be a jerk but imagine having this supernatural power that is unexplainable your whole life and being terrified of what people will do to you if they find out, that alot for a teenager. I also relate to his desperation to be forgiven, feeling like no matter how hard you try to be better it’s never good enough for anyone, And on top of that trying to control constant panic attacks that could end up with his magic hurting someone. Jackson has every right to be mad and not forgive him, but understand that this isn’t at black and white conflict, they both are going through alot. And physically harming someone should not be the answer. Also Exer never forced Jackson to forgive him, he just wanted him to know how sorry he was, and that he felt bad for screwing up. Jackson never really apologized for beating the crap out of him or knocking out David, which is understandable because of what ever put him through, but at some point Jackson just starts acting cruel writing in his diary that he wants Exer to feel as much pain as he did (and because of the diary’s magic, he does) and then tells Exer that the only way he’ll ever be forgiven is if he admits his bullying to the whole school, which he then does. And even after that Jackson refuses to forgive him, he goes back on what he said. The vibes I get from Jackson seem like he just wants Exer to suffer even more than he did, “do this then I’ll get over it”, “not enough, do this then I’ll forgive you”. And because exers so desperate to have people forgive and except him he can’t say no to any of Jackson’s demands, even going as far as to almost admit his powers to the whole school, almost putting his safety at risk. Who knows what authority would do to him if they found out he had magic, they could have k/lled him for all we know. So while Exer was a jerk I don’t think he deserved all of the pain that his magic and Jackson caused him.
Sorry if this was way to long, I just had a lot to say.

I love Exer. He’s one of my favorites.
But that doesn’t mean i and the other people in the fandom excuse his actions. He was a real jerk to Jackson in season 1 and that will remain engraved in history. Sure, he went through character development and apologized but that doesn’t change anything.

SAME. It really took me awhile to come around, I decided I would be ok with Exer only when/if Jackson decided he was ok with him. Exer was being really intense with his apologies. I know he just felt really guilty and wanted to clear his conscience, but that isn't how things work...he is not entitled to that after the awful things he did and he needs to give Jackson his space!
Yeah but exers didn't force jackson to accept the apology in the latest chapters it's said several times jackson dosnt have to forgive exer (exer says it himself ) and when they do talk about it they set the boundaries I really think exers has changed no question he's definitely grown and is trying to be better and learn from his mistakes but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for him idk why I think its because his charcter is so well written i just love him especially now cause he's trying his best to be better and his best is all we can really ask of him he's definitely not a bad person he but he's flawed just like evrey other charcter in the book even jackson isn't free of guilt I mean some of the things he said especially to exer about his magic and calling him a freak and a monster who is dangerous and should be locked away forever was completely disgusting behaviour wether exer bullied him or not
But tbh that's probably one of my favourite things about jacksons diary it's that non of the characters or guilt free or truly good or truly evil and its not black and white the entire cast is just a rainbow of confusing complex beautiful emotional messy ( and sometimes disgusting) colours they are all flawed but that makes them so much more beautiful to me
@@unfortunatelyidc6779 I already know that. I was just saying that he’s not obligated to accept anyones apology. A lot of the fandom seems to think that Jackson was doing too much and being too mean and should’ve just mended things (where was this energy when Exer was bullying Jackson?) while they seem to forget the reason why he’s acting like that to begin with. His entire friend group switched up on him just because of Exer. I honestly don’t care about the mean things Jackson has said either cause Exer had it coming after the bullying. But thats just me tho u can disagree.

I also don't think that inflicting pain and suffering mentally and /or physically as a way of revenge or getting back at someone is real justice. I also felt that jackson was acting a bit like judge jury and executioner when he wasn't even willing to hear exer out which he didn't have to hear him out of course but if your going to beat the shit out of someone you should probably let them spit out some feeble explanation before the face breaking begins. But I get where your coming tbh through out exers bully arc I just kept getting the insane desire to wring his neck out he was being such a little fucking prick

Okay, so we get that Jackson doesn’t need to accept the apology, but how does Exer suck? I’m not sure if you’ve read far yet, but he *DOES* try changing! He truly is trying to change!

First of all, this comment is everything. We could all learn from how you worded this! Thank you. 🖤 and yes you’re right! I had only read the first few episodes here, now I keep up with it every week and I’m so proud of how far Exer has come! He was admittedly a little too pushy with his need for Jackson’s approval, but they’re all coming around and I’m happy to see him own up to his mistakes and try to change for the better. I definitely don’t think he sucks anymore. 🖤
I think cornering Jackson multiple times to force an apology on him is pretty sucky. Jackson clearly set boundaries on who in the story is said to be his aggressor, and his aggressor still breaks them. It doesn't matter how well intended it is, he's still breaking his boundaries. Just because someone changes it doesn't change who they hurt, and if they're still showing a disregard for their needs, it doesn't feel that much like changing.
But exer is my favorite character😭

@@Burningpassion27 He literally bullied Jackson for the whole story, and forces multiple apologies on him despite him deliberately not wanting them (thus breaking Jackson's boundaries yet again). It just tells all victims anywhere, that if someone who does something horrible to you apologizes to you and tries to change, they're absolved from all crime. Because in the end, the victims still have those scars and still have to suffer from them while the aggressor moves on instantly.
