Absolutely smartest camper I've seen. Has a high end canvas kodiak like tent with air con and camping for two at that spot for only $1.75 per day. Beautiful un crowded camp grounds.
Loved that guy's camping style! For sure Thai people are so lovely. Fortunately they don't spend hours watching the likes of FOX or MSNBC etc 'shaping' the news and getting angry at the world lol
I’ve been traveling to Thailand since 1997 but you’ve definitely opened up my eyes to a coastal part that I’ve never seen, much less planned to visit. I might just pick up camping from this video alone! Thank you for great videos!

Sam Roi Yot is one of my favourite places to explore and then chill for a while before going to look around the conner, hill, beach, or cave. I enjoy your vlogs very much, and your sentiment attitude has the same perspective I have of Thailand . Please keep the content coming.
Hey brother. Thanks always for posting. As like everyone else, I continue to live through your videos vicariously. Can't wait to be in your position next year!
I do love what you're showing us in this part of Thailand, will definitely come and explore here next time from BKK later in the year. While Australian places don't have dual pricing for any foreigners (none I'm aware of) we do have concession entry for seniors and other official concession card holders -- but I would be more than happy with the farang pricing you have shown here, it's a lot less than our usual Aussie fees (when fees apply). Some places and attractions you can get memberships or annual pass entries, but that's about all (not restricted to locals, but tourists generally wouldn't be around long enough to benefit from these deals vs daily entry). We haven't visited an Australian national park though in a while, as we can't take our dog with us on or off the leash (in some places, not even if we just want to do a scenic drive through an area without getting out of the car). But most of our state parks are okay, and we live by the beach, and that's fine too every day.
Ohhhhh…to be a fly on the dashboard of your side trip life - it really doesn’t get any better than this! Thailand beach glamping looks amazing. Sometimes I watch your videos first thing in the a.m., other times (albeit it difficult), I save them for a p.m. treat. Either way, they are the BEST part of my day. Thank you for another winning video STL!
I am just back from there on my motorcycle. I saw that camping sign but didn't have time to explore. Wish I had now. On my to do list for next time. Thanks
Been to that beach campground a few times as a teacher chaperoning school camping trips. It a great place to take school kids for camping. Nice and flat, big enough to isolate the kids from other campers, enough shade but open enough to hold activities. Good buy on the car.
Thanks for continuing to inspire another Canuck with something to strive for in life. Gives me lots of ideas to achieve when I reach retirement to keep myself busy. Beautiful country. I love your laid back style and classic Canadian friendliness. Cheers.
Always nice hearing your cheerful commentary and attitude.😃 (Hope you got to see some elephants too! Lol😅) Great video. Thanks for lovely virtual experience. You are a great guide! 🤗
Nice show, I know alot of Americans that live in PKK. I should b back there again this fall. Cold and Rainy here in Michigan. Stay cool, kind and generous.
My favorite way to watch these videos is finding them on my Chromebook, then casting them to my 4k TV. The fact I can read all the comments afterwards is the cool thing.
After Hiring a scooter and heading South on the Island of Corfu, I saw a small road on my left, It looked more like someone`s drive, I thought I would see where it went.... There was an Old Woman that gave me Dark looks but did stop me...I kept going for about 2-3 miles..... I came out inbetween some cliffs to a Totally deserted beach.... It was pristine..... I stayed for about an Hour, nobody came I was alone on a Beautiful Beach..... Once in a life time event... Side trips rule.... :-))))
Hiya STL. Your videos always have great content and are informative. So much nicer for you to have the car. Definitely camping in style. Air con. Love it. Glad they found their dog. Cars go on for years as long as they're well-maintained. Happy Tuesday.
I noticed the video quality in your intro look much more crisp and sharp, like maybe 4K. Is it the camera or your post production (or my eyes). Very nice!
Great eyes! Yep, the intro is 4K. The rest is usually 1080/60. The reason is 4K files can be 4X larger thus a lot more time consuming to file transfer and cumbersome to edit. Many popular youtubers who post more frequently use cloud storage and have online video editors taking care of the heavy lifting. I'm still doing it the old fashioned way lol
I'll be interested to see your thoughts on PKK in the next video, as opposed to the one you made a few years ago! But I think I can say in advance, that nothing toooo world shattering happens there, it's a very laid back place.
Hi there, I'm a new member of your site. Love all the beautiful landscape, sunsets, great hotels deals and the tasty foods at wonderful prices.. I have a question I hope you answer for me.. your drone that you use. I was wondering what brand it is and if you would recommend it. I've been looking around and yes it would be my first time getting one.. thank you for making me fall in love with Bali and Thailand❤
Have a look online for HH Car rentals, also on FB etc. Can usually get a decent late model Vios or other compact for 800 baht/$22 day (or less sometimes, esp weekly or longer rates).
I'm on a yearly visa but from what I hear many are getting up to 180 days on tourist visas with extensions & renewals (milage may vary depending on imm officer, stamps, presentation, etc of course). STL
I love your vids but I gotta say that the train from BKK to Hua Hin is miserable. With the new train station I hope they've upgraded the train or is it waiting on the new Chinese High Speed expansion?
Uh oh, didn't take the 3rd class non a/c train I hope?? The one I took was the 2cnd class a/c, gotta book in advance usually. New carriages are on the way as well as new dual tracks (no more waiting on a siding off the single track). This should make train travel to HH less than 3 hrs (they're saying 2.5 hrs, we'll see).
@@SideTripLife Yeah, on that day the schedule wasn't accurate. The train was broken or reallocated or whatever. The train we took was barely faster than walking and without A/C. Dunno how another train would be faster as we never really got up to speed and it stopped continually.

I also brought photocopies of my Thai DL and Visa but some say only a copy of PP is 'required' (not sure). @SideTripLife hey STL thanks for the reply and information provided, I will look into it! Ps. Your video on Wizdom Connect in Punnawithi is the reason why I moved here so thank you🙏
20 yrs ago, I was cruising there with my bike....and my wife like to buy property and open some business...but we decide for childrens education in Austria (too expensive and difficult in TH) now we spend early ritirement there...😅 and no headache😂
They keep bringing up the possibility every couple years (perhaps just sending up trial balloons to test public reaction as is often the case here). Meanwhile, my own home of Vancouver plus Toronto have instituted restrictions on Foreign home purchases (and now Australia and others considering same). Makes sense in that if Thailand simply said ok foreigners, you can buy land now, it would have a dramatic effect and likely price the avg Thai out of their own home market (sound familiar?). Perhaps a modified plan and restricted to niche zones (ala Phuket Laguna area) etc may come around again, or married to a specific visa like the 10 year LTR visa program (ala Malaysia's M2H - but now increased threshold). We shall see. STL
@SideTripLife that's true it will most likely cause the price of homes to be out of reach for the many locals. I just don't like apartments and would love to live in Thailand permanently in a home. We'll see. Cheers mate.
@sidetriplife any Thai I have asked their opinion about this - they are All Against allowing foreigners to buy houses freely ( some very passionately against ) so I really can't see any official plan being ever implemented - despite our wishful thinking It would just drive up prices for locals
Sorry bout that! The stats tell me majority of my viewers are online at this time. Yet majority are from USA so something doesn't add up? Have tried a couple 8 a.m. EST Sunday drops which were flops. Might try again and see. Thanks
Bought a tent in Krabi at some sports store in 2015, took it down to the far South to Koh Tarutao and stayed on an idyllic beach for cheap at the second stop. The Park Rangers and their wives cooked for us each day. Great hikes and gave us mountain biked to go to the other side and an old prison camp. Nobody there, they all went onto the popular party islands. Stayed on a few spots for 10 days. At the end gave the park the tent and sleeping bags and they have us the stay for free. Came to a wash. The monkeys though, they'll get your tent if you aren't careful.
Love the videos. Port Coquitlam, BC native here. Do people not have fires when camping or hanging out at the beach? I’ve watched almost all you videos and have never seen a fire pit in any of them. Just wondering if people roast marshmallows or hotdogs🤷🏼♂️
Thanks SenorBeaver (great handle lol;). The camper in the vid said fires were not permitted at least at that site (officially rainy season btw). Poco? Love Golden Ears Park in your backyard too! STL (N. Van native;)
@@SideTripLife Yes Poco. Heading to Golden Ears this weekend actually for a night. The wild fires haven’t hit BC as hard as the East coast yet (hopefully not at all) so camp fires are still allowed. Love the content btw. Heading to check out some spots in Thailand hopefully in the new year. Your videos really help with planning and the price breakdowns are stellar. Safe travels and maybe we’ll cross paths in the future.
Love your work. I've 2 questions. Where can I see more details on this property: ruclips.net/video/UGULDGxOE0s/видео.html And where are you based when you are not travelling?
Apologies Scott. I get that the recaps & previews can be annoying esp for reg viewers. However, it's really for newer viewers to bring em up to speed on what's up and where. Will try to cut them down to under 30 secs from current 50-60 seconds. STL
Love your channel, but charging more for non-residents (your examples) is not the same as charging more for non-Thai nationals (who if expat are residents and pay the same taxes as Thai people).
Fair comment Frank. Also, for sure Expats contribute much more per person to local Thai communities and families. However, the other inequity would be Thai min wage which is still officially 353 Baht/$10 per day (Bkk). Since many Thais work 12 hours per day that works out to less than $1 per hour. Compared to the West that's avg 10x+ less. So to be truly fair, Thais would have to make 10 bucks per hour, not per day. Of course then Thailand would really become as expensive as back home and many Expats who complain about dual pricing would complain about equity pricing (not saying you btw). My own view is if my paltry subsidy allows even 1 less fortunate Thai kid the ability to access their own Ntnl Parks, great! Thailand will be like Singapore soon enough, meanwhile perhaps best to ante up a couple bob more once in a while and just enjoy as is. Cheers, STL
I love how you're immediately ok with dual pricing and don't even bother pointing out it goes against equality and promotes discrimination. Society decided making black people sit at the back of a bus and use different water fountains was wrong, but creating a two tier system (which will always create some people getting treated better and some people worse) is totally ok? Can a grocery store make you pay more for food because you are a man, or because you are white? Should Asians pay more for medicine or should gay people pay more for housing? Do you see how treating two people differently is a MASSIVE problem?
That was quite a gymnastic penmanship effort evoking civil rights etc with a Park fee lol. I'm simply pointing out the reality: This isn't just a Thailand thing and one can choose to get bent out of shape over it, or, pony up a couple bucks more and enjoy a day out at a fantastic site. Will paste my longer response to another commenter below: -For sure Expats contribute much more per person to local Thai communities and families. However, the other inequity would be Thai min wage which is still officially 353 Baht/$10 per day (Bkk). Since many Thais work 12 hours per day that works out to less than $1 per hour. @@SideTripLife You can ‘pony up’ all the extra money you want… I don’t think I, nor anyone else should ever pay a different price than any other human being, anywhere, anytime. Fair is fair.
Yep, fair is fair. Thus, glad to hear you're all for giving the Thai kids a 10x min wage raise to Western standards so we're all equal then. Of course everything else you pay for here will have to rise commensurately and exponentially, ie food, housing, hotels, transport, etc etc etc. But we'll all be equal, earning/paying same, good stuff. As we've both had our say, let's call it a done discussion and thanks for sharing your views. Cheers, STL

@sidetriplife any Thai I have asked their opinion about this - they are All Against allowing foreigners to buy houses freely ( some very passionately against ) so I really can't see any official plan being ever implemented - despite our wishful thinking
It would just drive up prices for locals
Awesome editing and video, as usual 🙏👍 Great job!
Great video but stop going on about the new car and dual pricing!!!
Noted :) PS, don't watch this vid: ruclips.net/video/ZQzlx-KoHeg/видео.html
All my favorite Asia vloggers put their vids out at 5am lol.
The monkeys though, they'll get your tent if you aren't careful.
try dual charging in the UK. there would be riots blocking the road.
$6 to sleep till Brooklyn! Courtesy of STL boys...
Every single video you make is to long... This one is NOT to short...
lol! JJ, one of my longest subscribers, always hits the mark ;) STL
I’m arriving at Hua Hin 5 September if you want to sell the car I’d be interested 😊
Mosquitoes ??
Wasn't bad at all but mossie spray in case of course
$1,500 for a car? You scored big time…..noice!
Love your work. I've 2 questions. Where can I see more details on this property: ruclips.net/video/UGULDGxOE0s/видео.html
And where are you based when you are not travelling?
Thanks! Based in Bangkok. Pls see: ruclips.net/video/4hsZiL3q2Bc/видео.html

@@SideTripLife Thank you
Cut out the recaps and previews
Apologies Scott. I get that the recaps & previews can be annoying esp for reg viewers. However, it's really for newer viewers to bring em up to speed on what's up and where. Will try to cut them down to under 30 secs from current 50-60 seconds. STL
How long you been a #UTUBER ? I see you never # in front of your titles
Cheers, STL
OK, got it! Enough about the duel pricing stuff. Lets move on to something more interesting please
Will paste my longer response to another commenter below:

Cheers, STL
@@SideTripLife I was going to continue to subscribe until you decided I shouldn't be able to speak anymore. You're a real gem Pal, it was a good ride while it lasted. Oh, and also feel free to always share your opinion and say what you feel like. Unlike you, I have no interest in squashing what others have to say, Cheers!!!
they might have dual pricing, but i vote with my wallet and they're not going to see my money, so their loss. anyway, the sheep will pay as always.
