I know years ago people were upset over cars getting more computers, but you know whats beautiful about these computer systems? Awesome plug and play equipment like these remote start kits and the amp kits like installed in the Ford without having to booger up a nice clean ride. I put my plug and play remote start in going on 5 years ago now, and I'm a little jelly steve, being able to change the settings through the factory cluster on a 3rd party unit is badass as hell. Love the other smaller content you put up, been following around 13 years now and still here for it :)
Hello, one of the key benefits for those with a Sprinter RV is now, you can look your doors when it's running. For those that don't know, before, you couldn't lock your doors if the vehicle was running. In NY, it is against the law to leave a vehicle running unattended but if you have a remote start, it is not. That used to drive me crazy. The install was super easy and the alarm place where I got my other remote started wanted about $300 to install, I'm so glad I did it myself. Also, the guys at MidCity are excellent, called them and they will walk you through the process, super easy. Wish they had remote starts for my other cars. While it is expensive, the Drone app is nice.
I'm loving these van mod videos! Keep em coming Steve! I really enjoy watching your journey bro, been watching since the tahoe had the first 4 18s and was still that tan color and when you even got rear ended an ill keep watching!
I love my remote start. I drive a new Hyundai, commuter but when it's 28 outside and you can start your car from the house? Love it. Like the different content Steve, thanks for always replying. Let's us know you care what people think!
Remote start is an absolute must in freezing conditions. I hate sitting in a cold ass vehicle waiting for it to warm up. Plus, having to scrape the windshield fing sucks.
at the old house, i didn't really need it. It gets cold down there but not like it does up here. NOT like Alaska though! LOL! But cold enough...plus, having the windshield defrosting before i get out there is a major plus. :D
just wondered if your putting a system in this, what's in it now, just factory? probably sounds good. I was hoping you would of hooked up one of those 33s in it but ultimately wondered if your putting some bass in the sprinter?
Great piece of kit. Thanks for doing the video! What’s your work around for sleeping in the van? Do you now have to lock all the doors manually so the alarm isn’t switched on? I’d imagine if you use the default way of locking yourself in the van with the remote, the alarm would go off with any slight movement….
I installed the MidCity Engineering remote start myself and it was super simply. I was worried about the shock sensor if I locked myself it, so I wired switches for shock/tilt, Rev, and valet. I ended up removing all three because, if you ground the valet, it only works if it is on (grounded) and you can turn it off via Drone app. The same with the shock tilt, I wanted to be able to turn it off and on with the switch, so I just left it off in Drone (I don't think it will be useful unless you plan on storing your vehicle). The idle can be toggled through the onscreen menu, off, 1250 and 1500 RPMs. One thing I did notice is, I took my physical key out when you supply one remote and if you unlock the door manually, it set my alarm off. So I have to figure out was that a one off or is that normal. I had to turn it off by the remote.
what's next for the Sprinter NAV TV or something Similar for get your toslink , remote wire and RCAS. be cool if you integrate subs into the sides to keep Cargo space, lots to consider and think about, PS: i've been watching ever since the first tahoe upgrade back in 09. keep up the awesome content and i've have put some beat in the back of my 07 rav4. slaps real nice
Does anyone know of a way to calibrate the temp sensor, my temp has been off. My Govee Temp sensor is in the back of the van near my lithium system and it is usually off by up to 30 degrees. Example, my car on Drone shows 28 degrees but my Govee sensor shows 52.9 degrees. I try to keep my lithium battery above 42 degrees. I know the sensor is located on the wall under the drivers' seat but I wish I could adjust it to a more center reading.
Did you know about the aftermarket for the Sprinter and bought it because of the wide array of easily integrated components compared to other vans, or did you buy and then find out?
I program them for 25 minutes on all of them and if it’s a diesel 35 minutes. But they run the full runtime they don’t just shut off if the driver doesn’t tell it to continue running. What would be the point?
I just did the same kit on my 22 sprinter and love it! Def nice to have remote start , high idle and alarm! Keep them sprinter mods comin!
Hey looks good. Nothing bets getting in a warm seat on a freezing morning. Now you just need a remote bass knob, and you are set!

Thank you for your help because I bought mine for my Mercedes-Benz 2023 it works great. I did it myself.
Now thats cool being able to adjust all the aftermarket settings through the factory screen! New tech can be amazing at times!!!

I can’t hardly wait for the turbo installation so we can burn those stock tires 😁
@@dcraexon already has a turbo...stock. LOL. Turbo v6 Diesel.

I did a remote start on my dads Cadenza... Literally plug and play too. Same style interruption one.
I live in Alaska and I totally understand the need for remote start lol 😂

That firstech piece id key. Nice install. Edit i said that before 100% watching. Really good install. A grand? Or close install? Rock The Bells.
That went in there like it was factory. Nice!
I remember always hearing "Viper armed" back before vehicles came with any factory security.
I have smart keys on my old fj..works nice I will have to look into this one
Great piece of kit. Thanks for doing the video!

Hello, where did you purchase the Firstech? I don't see it on the midcity website. TY John
Google midcity engineering
What’s good
Shop in sac that you trust get some mids highs done upgrade from stock
Do you know if there's a company that makes similar plug and play for GM ? I didn't see a video for your son's suv alarm/remote starter install.
firsttech makes one depending on the year, id recommend them with compustar remotes

cool setup ...can u get one of these systems for all makes and models..?..
Will this work on a 2015?

Do I need a new alternator if I’m running the Skar 1200.1 d and 2 12” 2400 watt Skar SDR-12’s? I haven’t installed the system yet.
So why not diesel aux heat install? It makes a lot more sense. And it comes with factory setup, and even has a sms-receiver
what does that have to do with this? so random. LOL
What’s the model number of the remote start kit and can you put this on the 2023 Sprinter?
I was going to say if they had an app platform it would be amazing. But they do have it they thought of everything
Did you know about the aftermarket for the Sprinter and bought it because of the wide array of easily integrated components compared to other vans, or did you buy and then find out?
this is my 2nd sprinter bro....
I just did a remote starter Saturday and I had to connect 26 wires. It was a pain in the ass
Where can I buy this?
From what ive seen all the auto starts run about 10 min before turning off after no response from the driver
I program them for 25 minutes on all of them and if it’s a diesel 35 minutes. But they run the full runtime they don’t just shut off if the driver doesn’t tell it to continue running. What would be the point?
That’s awesome
Yeah ,extra bonus on that and loud af ouch
What’s the system called? Where can I get it installed?
Nice👍👍
