I think I am late but join CSE, not CSE AI. I am saying this because CSE is there in Amrita for many years and AI is there only for past 5 years. All faculty in CSE are experienced(also well experienced in Amrita environment) but in AI, its mostly of new faculty and there is a shortage of faculty. For AI even the syllabus was not stable for the past years. In general, there no qualified faculties for AI in any University. If you only want to get into AI, then take CSE core and choose AI related subjects in electives and then get into AI field. I have heard from my AI friends that faculty from AI department are not qualified enough and that there is a shortage of faculty. AI is a separate department and faculty form CSE do not take classes in AI department.
