This part makes me emotional due to the fact that it reflects the ridicule I faced cause of my ASD and anxiety. It also reminds me of the sad fates of the woman of the Salem witch trials.
@@DiamondAviator4 while yes woman back than didn't have rlly any rights but if her husband or male kids defended her they would get blamed too so sad how brainwashed people are now and back than were
What I really enjoy about this scene is that for a movie aimed at a young audience it tackles very difficult conversation involving bullying, nihilism, isolation and trauma in a way that’s understandable for young viewers but still feels poignant for adults as well. I also enjoy how Aggie’s character feels real in how she became a vengeful spirit but at the same time it’s believable that she’s change with talking to someone like Norman as in reality she just needed a friend to talk to.
What parts does it involve nihilism? Like how the cycle of torture and suffering repeats over and over again until it feels numb and dull until one decides to say,”no more! Im putting a stake on this and making a change!” Is that it?
@@jamestolbert1856 concerning nihilism I was referring to the more humanistic element and not to Nietzsche classical philosophy that it was originally known for. Modern nihilism which is its own separate ideology is the “no point to life” argument. Aggie clearly views humanity as that as it’s beyond redemption and wishes others to suffer along with her to experience what in her view “humanity” is . Norman shows how this isn’t the only option to have in the world and shows her the alternative. Naturally I’m using a more modern approach to the term nihilism that also to some can be viewed as cynicism but with Aggie’s experience I thought the former term was more applicable to her as she more of person who lost hope and embraced darkness rather than someone who was just always dark and sad.
I love this storyboard so much and if they’re planning to make a Paranorman series but can’t do stop motion but 2D animation I want to designs to be like that!
