    I used your base model and made a pumpkin that is about twice the size of yours, and I made the legs detachable to save storage space and be easier to transport. It was displayed in one of our neighborhood common areas (lit up with a UV floodlight and some red for accent lighting) and got a lot of great feedback. I left out the "leaves," but it still look really great. Thanks for the inspiration!

    I would still like to see and think a great idea would be a giant pumpkin/jack-o-lantern snowman. Three pumpkins stacked like a snowman with the top one a jack-o-lantern for the face, add a hat, scarf, stick arms. That would be so cute and cool. Hope you'll think about it. Thank you 🧡🤎💛🍁🍂

    I watched this 3 times and it's awesome...but I was really hoping for some details on painting the legs...er, roots. What kind of paint did you use (just plain exterior latex?) and how did you create the detail? Because that's what I can't seem to master and yours look great.

    • @IsaacAlexanderDIY
      @IsaacAlexanderDIY  Год назад +1

      I just used plain exterior latex paint and it was a brown paint that was on sale. For the main “roots” I used brown and for the smaller offshoots i used the same brown but mixed with a few drops of black paint to darken it ever so slightly. I used a regular paint brushes and painted all the legs brown, I didn’t add any other details

    Wow. Pretty cool. This is one pumpkin that escaped the patch! 🎃 Now if you somehow really make those legs walk, it would scare the begeebers out of me if I saw that moving across a yard. Terrifying. (BTW - saw a Big Lots skeleton and thought of you. Wonder how you would rate it. Ball joints on arms and elbows and other weird gear joint on knees. $50. I only looked bc of your last video. 😂)

    • @IsaacAlexanderDIY
      @IsaacAlexanderDIY  Год назад +2

      Correct, it won’t work the same way as Loctite. Wetting great stuff, expanding foam won’t form a skin that allows you to mold it.

    Issac, I absolutely love your tutorial videos. However.....I have looked EVERYWHERE for these styrofoam blocks you use, and I don't know if Canada packages things differently than they do in the USA, or if stores here have some kind of environmental laws and get rid of them, but they just aren't available anywhere in Canada. What can we use instead? Or maybe could you consider making your props and decorations "styrofoam block free" in the future? ......So that us Canadians can join in making the stuff too?
    The ONLY place I have seen them, is on Amazon,.......for $25-$30 EACH.
    Thank you again for sharing.

      I’m so sorry for my slow reply, it’s been so busy on my end. I think that’s a good idea you’ve brought, for me to create a styrofoam block free version. I think rules might be tighter in Canada with styrofoam and that’s why it’s harder to find. I’m sorry that you’ve not been able to find some 😣

I had 4 people last year searching the entire state of UTQAH and NEVADA looking for these foam blocks, i even put a Facebook marketplace add offering a reward, and have never seen one that isn't very small. I'm sorry i bought your book for my grandson, and watch all your videos even did 12 lighted Christmas trees, but bam you crossed that line and as my old 1989 drill sergeant said to mew once you cross my line you crossed me, so i'm have to get out of this block video rabbit hole and back to sanity.
