I am so looking forward to this show. Star Wars has always been about fun adventure. Most of what we loved from the 80’s is about fun adventure. This seems to have that. This may also be the first time my 7 year old daughter actually wants to watch Star Wars with me. That means a lot to me. She watched the trailer with me and is excited to finally be a part of the magic I have loved since childhood.
Not gonna lie, this did more to get me excited for this than any of the trailers did. Before I was only going to watch this because it's Star Wars and the idea sounded entertaining enough. This actually got me invested in this show and now I am actively hoping that it is really good.
Jon Watts is very underrated as a director and as a storyteller, that's why I will always regret not having seen his version of Spider-Man: No Way Home with Kraven and Daredevil...
The dynamic of this whole group is so fun and wholesome! I’m feeling much more optimistic about this now. I also think Skeleton Crew is exactly what we need right now. I just hope we get Hondo.
I Love how all of them know each other so well and they're all actually friends. Great Show! Skeleton Crew seems like you're righting the ship. Its giving something we havent seen in a long time. A sense of actual adventure. Thats the stuff I love in Star Wars. It's Great. My Wife who has never liked Star Wars, loved the first Episodes! Loved that you finally are showing force sensitives that arent Jedi or Sith. There would be people in the universe that would touch the force like this. Good that you're finally tapping into something a bit different. That was the fun in the first two seasons of Mando. While lightsabers are cool there are SO many other stories to tell. This is just pure fun and adventure. I love the tone you've set. Hope to see more Star Wars like this in the future. BTW.... I grew up on Star Wars from OT. This IS THE WAY. This is the stuff that made Star Wars Special back then and captured our imaginations.
It's not a project I'm super hyped for, but I'm definitely curious. Seeing kids grow into this time period sounds very interesting. With us knowing all the history of the Clone Wars and the Civil War seeing these kids trying to navigate and find their place in all that sounds very relatable. I hope that aspect can connect with kids today who grow up in today's asinine politics and have to figure out how to understand all of it. Maybe that's not something the series will do but that's what I hope for. The fact that it's Jon Watts is also a huge draw for me. He did so perfect with Spider-Man, very interested in seeing him do Star Wars. And the Daniels? That's wild, I did not know they were working on this. Will for sure be tuning in!
I wish the zeal and the feeling with which the directors have designed the show resonates with both the people who are unaware of Star Wars and those people whose first love has always been Star Wars and they both these communities can come together to give us the most wholesome union of Star Wars story to date. May this show be a banger and fires on all cylinders and makes everyone fall in love with Star Wars again. We need this Win, I would say we all deserve this win.
Proud of David Lowery. He’s a filmmaker who grew up not too far from where I did. He has a ton of underrated movies. If y’all haven’t seen The Green Knight or A Ghost Story I couldn’t recommend them more.
