      This is one of the reasons why a lot of people in those countries wish that they have a Second Amendment like we do. Although I do agree with something such as background checks felons and ones with mental illness can’t access guns, although if they prove they’ve changed in the long run they can get their rights back. Honestly as someone who lives and is accustomed to laws of Florida, I don't see the controversy. They happily left out the facts:
    1) Stand your Ground it is always equal or lesser force. it's not legal to kill someone if they punch you for example.
    2) You can't shoot someone without going to jail unless your door is locked, and they forcibly enter. otherwise "equal or lesser force" laws apply even inside your home!
    3) the fear from leftists that gun owners are so timid and fearful and will just shoot if a butterfly surprises them is quite demeaning. 🤣
    4) If a stranger is in my home I will shoot without question because I have a family to protect, I always leave my doors locked, and it's always obvious who is a guest in my home vs someone creeping around.

      The law allows a person to use deadly force anytime they are at risk of bodily harm or they feel their life is threatened. A person does not have a duty to retreat. As long as they are not trespassing onto someone else's property, they can use deadly force to defend themselves.

    In the context of a home invasion, then yes, the intruder takes the risk of encountering an armed occupant. However, while they are rare, there are instances when people might end up in your home without you being aware of it. I am reminded of my time working at a housing authority, that was required by law to perform unit inspections. There were notices posted and letters sent out, but there's always a possibility that an occupant didn't see the notices. Our agency had legal authority to knock then enter if no one answered. What if they were sleeping and awoke to people legally entering their homes?
    There are caveats to this.

    • @incipidsigninsetup
      @incipidsigninsetup 2 года назад

      No knock warrants are an issue as well. Cops get the wrong address of the address where the person of interest has long moved. They bust through your door and you start shooting and the outcome is predictable. You could ask Breonna Taylor all about that if plain clothed cops hadn't gunned her down in her home.

    • @DarthxKoolAidx
      @DarthxKoolAidx 2 года назад +3

      The outcome of this is that you may possibly get shot. It is so funny when people say they have a "right" to do something, but honestly if you go into a person's home without them being aware whatever happens to you is your fault and in FL if you get shot, that homeowner is eating dinner with their family that night while you get prepped for a box. Your right to enter isn't protecting you, knowledge of FL law just might.

    • @DarthxKoolAidx
      @DarthxKoolAidx 2 года назад +1

      @@incipidsigninsetup I mean, there are several instances of homeowners shooting cops that no knocked or made mistakes on the address and still did not get arrested. Including police fatality incidents. The outcome would have been more predictable for Breonna Taylor if she, a former county employee and by law required harm reporter due to her medical licences had not maintained a relationship with two known trap stars, one of whom was an ex boyfriend, and the other whom she allowed to receive mail and packages at her home. From which, whether a related drug package or not it was a suspect package nonetheless, said suspect would then drive to a known trap house.

    So when this Sheriff's department has a search warrant and makes a forced entry to someone's home, if the home owner shoots dead one of the members of law enforcement I'm guessing they will quote this sheriff's comments and they will be let off of any criminal consequences.
    It will be really important that law enforcement announce them selves when making a forced entry, but criminals can also shout out those same words.
    Also if someone is deaf or if there is loud music then whatever law enforcement shouts doesn't matter, the sheriff prefers that you shoot people making a forced entry to your home.
    As for the police wearing uniforms when they make a forced entry, you won't be able to see the uniform with a torch light shining in your eyes, and if it's night time then dark blue uniforms might be different to see.
