That was a great tour in 2004. I saw two stops during that tour, and probably would have seen more if I could have gotten off work. What a great triple bill. Average White Band, Michael McDonald and Hall and Oates. Every band was just cookin' and sounding great. Was hoping there was going to be a release of these shows, but there was not.
Daryl is totally getting into singing this song! He's said it's a spiritual thing for him, when he's onstage singing. You can see it, real clear here. So good! It's probably just me, but it seemed like he stepped back from the mic, right when it was time to belt out, one of the most fun lines in the song, to sing, (if I do say so myself.) But, it was Michael's turn. Seemed like Daryl held himself back, in case he couldn't help himself. He wanted to belt it out too. I feel ya Daryl 😊 🎶Boop-boop-boop-boop When I want to🎶
It’s mostly the mix, imho. Likely straight from the FOH board, mixed for the live audience. Not pitchy (esp not the lead singers) ...that I’m hearing, just a lot of vocalists and a live mix. Admittedly Daryl & McD were 25 years past their first hits when this tour happened and a teenie bit rough at the top end of their ranges. I always gave both guys credit for not lowering their hits original keys live, always going for it, hitting it and always utterly soulful. I saw this tour, no way I was going to miss it. The entire night was wonderful. Remembered the hits & fave tunes collaboration of the 3 acts at the end, forgot they ended with this great Sly tune.
Nothing better than these guys together love Michael singing these songs !
Thrilling, chilling. I'm a huge fan of Michael, Daryl and John since the 80's. This kind of show is a dream
Oh me too!
Loving this video, getting a real kick out of seeing Daryl loose & having so much fun. I really like his voice as he ages also, it's raspy, loving it.

Boy, all the vocalists are a little ragged. You can't cheat time. Still a decent listen.
They are all older men and its a great listen!
