      anyway i think it’s weird to me!! u don’t gotta love my opinion but what did X do fr? he wasn’t a saint but such a talented young artist who had prolly the biggest potential compared to his peers so idk why being an X fan is a bad thing. i’m not even that big of a fan, just remorseful for not his artistry while he was here and see now how great he was and coulda been.

    The song is called "Teen Spirit" so listen to the lyrics. Maybe she's talking about peer pressure and puberty and how kids are rushing each other to grow up. "You don't even know me" sounds like something a lot of teens would say to their parents, like they don't understand them. And it kinda sounds like she's in denial through out the song. Like she knows what's right and wrong but she wants to fit in and be something she's not. idk

      To me I see it as she got raped or something like that. You hear stuff like "creeping on my shoulder, I hear you breathing." ( similar to that ). And "don't come close." But she loves that person and become some sort of slave to him hence "just do it." And she knows it isn't healthy but she can't stop. Or some kind of trauma has happened in her life. Idk just my thought

      I have no clue what sza is talking about specifically, whether that be rape, depression, suicidal thoughts, an actual teenager or demonic etc. but I personally think it means for example how teens can be manipulated,foolish, easily influenced, and whatever sza is referring to she feel its consuming her, taking over her, she doesn't feel completely in control of herself, it's so powerful her inner being or soul feels childlike. so she refers to her spirit as a teen, teen spirit.

    For me, this song represents the depression and anxiety I've been going through for the last few years. I'm only 15, so I've spent most of my pre-teen and now teens years depressed. Yes, I often feel lost and lonely without a lot of friends, but I really don't have a major reason to be depressed and can't explain why it keeps coming back. This depression doesn't know me, but it keeps coming closer and closer. It's killing my teen spirit.

    The song is expressing the usual stereotypes of a teen. Suicide, depression, and troubled behavior. Maybe it's a personal explanation - but the song uses an excuse if "voices" in your head, meaning it's just who I am. You think you know me. "Don't come close" is technically saying that the spirit in the teen is just depressed and doesn't want anyone around. Like when a teen tells their parent that they don't know them when they are going through an emo phase.
    Sza just took her unique neo soul sound and made an eerie yet awesome song. If you think it's demonic... well that's your opinion.

    She is literally has the female vibe of Kendrick on lock. She has the bass and beat with the eery feel Kendrick has but she has a different way of delivering it which makes her unique. She gives you the vibe that she is always daydreaming and never fully "here" in her songs. Sza is so on point, I would love to meet her.

    • @eluvv91
      @eluvv91 10 лет назад +25

      really? i see her as more as having the female vibe of Ab-Soul...with the imagery she uses in her lyrics and all. kendricks music doesn't sound anything like this to me.

    • @Belihoney
      @Belihoney 10 лет назад +4

      geeth4ng Ah- see, I raarely actually process lyrics just the instrumental, I could literally listen to a song with just humming and love it but for me it's that dragging, sloth like, hazy melody vs. the hard bass beat which gives me the same vibe as Kenderick but her melodic up and down delivery with the high pitched voice gives it the feminine touch. Abz music is really hip hop - fast layers of beats instead of the melody in my opinion.

    I don't think SZA is trying to corrupt any spirits, and I think music does have the ability to effect it, seep into you sorta speak. Personally, I don't think I can be an active listener of hers, her songs move me the wrong way. I'm not getting positive vibes, and I bet im not suppose to considering where she is pulling this rawness from! it might be bc of the pain I harvest in myself gets a bit rustled when I hear her, and that REALLY makes me uncomfortable. unsettled. Not my wavelength. I hope one day I can use my voice as a form of expression!
    I appreciate what she is doing though yass! so nice to see a woman of color portraying herself in this light!
