Beautiful. I am just starting out, another retirement hobby. I just got a 5” SCT. Photography has been a big hobby of mine for many years and seeing how you transformed in a few short years is inspiring.
@ thank you! Im keeping notes on cameras and recommendations so will add it to the list. I want to get a bit more proficient with the scope before I buy one. I have lots of photography experience but this is a whole new world
Such a good video. We really all started the same! I started with a manual scope and my phone camera. It revealed to me what you can truly reveal with the help of cameras. I’ve only been doing astrophotography for about 3-4 months now, and seeing my own progress is an amazing feeling.
i just got a heritage 130p for christmas and i was thinking of buying a camera for it... but how would it work for long exposures? do i have to do multiple short exposure photos?

Thankyou, good luck with your adventure in astrophotography!
Paul on a side note, I got the ZWO seestar S50, I have been into observing for years. The S50 from low Bortle skies takes amazing images.

If it is a goto yes you can do lots of 5/8 second exposures
@universewonders1 it's not the goto one sadly...
@TheCartelsWorstEnemy you cant really do astrophotography without goto
@universewonders1 instead of a camera I'm thinking of a phone adapter actually, it would just be cheaper and better.
@TheCartelsWorstEnemy That's how I started, get a good phone adapter man. Enjoy
That's amazing. Btw how your view of mars during 2022 was so clear. Which telescope u used
I used my first telescope, the skywatcher 150p, i sold that telescope and i kind of regret it it was a really good one
I just got a sky watcher P 250 and not able to see anything except the moon
Make sure the finderscope is aligned well to find planets
