Excellent Review! I waited for this one. While I defer to you as the Vetiver master, I go deeper in the tobacco realm. I think they went back to the EDT and deepened it. Going side by side by side I see the progression. Im not defending the price, nor fragrance policies. Also, I only have the old Guerlain Vetiver. It feels darker and more claustrophobic than the TF. I think the Parfum has enough of a lift to make it interesting. These are just my feelings. I like it. Love all of the content! Cheers 🎉🎉

Strange thing is...I'm 62 and this smells exactly like my old dads hand pushed lawn mower did after him, dripping 3 in one oil into the mowers oil cups in his shed after a few weeks of lawn mowing in the summers of the 70's. But I'm paying ££££££ to remember that smell.. It's cut grass and oil mixed, but I love it!
I love this fragrance!!! Bought the 50ml this summer and it’s great and also my first Tom Ford fragrance I’ve every smelled.
There are some Tom Fords that smell incredible to me but I just can't imagine dishing out the cash they want for their stuff. Even their 10ml minis are ridiculously expensive. This is one house that I don't mind buying the clones. I need a clone house to make a clone for Myrrh Mystere, Noir De Noir and Vanille Fatale ASAP.
Typically I wouldn’t touch Tom Fords but found a 50ml of Beau de Jour on sale at Nordstrom over the summer for $130. Worth it? Absolutely. Am I breaking open the wallet every time for a Tom? Nah.

Uh.. Dua brand has the myrrhe clone, Club de Nuit Intense Woman is the Noir de Noir clone... and Im sure theres one for the Vanille one... do some research.

Thanks Ash! Vetiver is one of my favorite notes, so I’ll check this out but I don’t have high hopes! Glad you mentioned Vetiver Sensuel at the end there, that’s one of my faves. I really like the new Issey Miyake Vetiver too. 🤘
You should check out Vetiver Insolent by Miller Harris if you haven’t already. Amazing stuff, unique, high quality and (depending where you live) can be picked up for great prices. 🙌🏻

I never had the chance to smell SWY absolutely so I would def choose that one. I like intensely but after seeing how much you like absolutely, I would love to add it to the collection!

Coming from a vetiver fan boy, I possess all of the other alternatives you mentioned at the end of the video, with only the TFGV still on my list. Like for many, it's the price point I can't justify quite just yet. So this video has been eduational. I'm thinking perhaps you may have to steep it a little bit, and only then after a few months, before it shine brighter? Excellent review as always!

Totally agree. I prefer the EDP for it's sparkly freshness. I also love Guerlain Vetiver. TFGV Parfum felt too redundant and tbh fell flat vs Guerlain. If you want sth darker just go for cheap Encre Noir.
I love that scent🤤it reminds me a lot of my all time favourite parfume Bottega Ventta Essence Aromatique that was released in 2016 but unfortunaly was removed from production a couple years ago. This comes very close to it.
I tried both the edp and the parfum the same time a few months ago.....I was blown away by the edp👌🏿
The EDP is more sensually earthy .. ❤..

Great review Ash! To me though, Grey Vetiver edp very similar to Guerlain Vetiver in a drydown 👌

So I also love vetiver. I’ve smelled both the Parfum and the OG grey vetiver I like them both and definitely want one however I also know mancera vetiver sensual is amazing too. Do you think it would be redundant to own one of the Tom ford and the mancera ?

My thoughts precisely. GV still the gold standard ashy vetiver soap. Pun? 🤔 Layers extremely well with Eau de Rochas Homme too. Give it a try. I find that it fills in some of the aromatic gaps.

I tries this the other day at Macy's and it was nice, I sprayes that and Ombre leather parfum on my hand, I liked both actually but I likes the ombre leather more and it lasted forever, after washing my hands a couple times.
Flankers of higher perfume concentration, to my experience, are often if not usually also a different formulation which can make them a bit or almost completely different.
The flankers being named after concentrations are rarely changed concentrations of the original. Generally as the name reflects higher concentrations, the formulation gets a little deeper and more mature
I was at Douglas last week and they had it but no tester bottle & no samples. But most of the TomFord Parfums in the Signature Line are just a cashgrab. Nobody needed the Ombre Leather Parfum & for me the Costa Azzura one is also obsolete. Only the Noir Extreme Parfum is an absolute banger! Next one could only be be "Beau de jour" and I have no idea what they would change with that since it is ideal as it is. If they do, it will be as unimportant as the Ombre Leather Parfum.

I was a big fan of the OG but I won’t be giving Estée Lauder that kind of money.

Edp is MUCH better, has the citrus note, with the smoky vetiver is amazing. The parfum lacks citrus and is darker, almost nauseatingly so. I have both, but only reccommend the edp.
