I'm writing from Florida in Miltons path. We are prepared and not in a flood zone. U19, I75, and US 301 traffic bumper to bumper! I75 Over pass on US 48 in Bushnel traffic heading in the north lane was stopped completely at 4pm. US 19 and US 301 North completely clogged with cars fleeing out of Florida. Wal-Mart and most grocery stores are bare. Fortunately, it looks like most of Tampa and coastal communities are evacuated. Our Withlacoochee electric company is working on power lines from Hurricane Helene. Everyone is taking this storm very seriously. We will most likely be like North Carolina this week. God bless all you folks up there struggling to survive! We will get through this regardless of how little our government agencies care about us! ❤

It could still easily hit as a cat 4+. The Yucatán will slow it down a bit but there’s still a lot of warm gulf water for it to strengthen back up afterwards.

He called it a category 5 storm several times. He is confused, it is a category 5 HURRICANE, Get it right! Peoples lives depend on understanding that Hurricane is more deadly than a tropical storm. Tropical storms have 2 categories 1 &2. A category 2 HURRICANE is not a Category 2 storm.
