    Do you think the ERP 2.0 framework was worth taxpayer's dollars? If you already have it on your bike, what are your thoughts about it, do you agree or disagree with my thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!

    I'm all for distance-based x congestion-based charging... it's fairer compared to COE and should work much better in managing congestion especially during peak hour. Disappointed in the lack of progress in the implementation of distance-based x congestion-based charging and gantry-free carpark system (which has been used in UK for years after they copied out ERP-model).

    cant believe this is what they came up with to replace something that is working just fine... personal opinion - waste of taxpayer's $. and the fact that it managed to get the authorities' approval... really just *face palm*....

    I'm definitely gonna install a cutoff switch at the battery level.

      I was told it's illegal to temp with the wiring... due to the "distance base" charging in the future...

    It is supposed to charge vehicle usage more fairly. Means increase usage cost and reduce ownership cost.
    The government should do a trail for a group of vehicles for a year first, why don't start with motorcycles first? Refund the remaining COE of all motorcycles to their owners and start charging ERP by distance, time and location.
    What are the evils of motor vehicles? The evils are traffic congestion, air pollution and traffic accidents, so why punish people who own cars and motorcycles with COE? There are people who need cars or motorcycles during odd hours like 3 am when they are doing shift work but never cause any traffic congestion. They should punish people who drive/ride during peak hours and cause traffic jams.
    It is high time government abolish COE and replace it with high charges of satellite ERP charging. It is easier to manage traffic congestion as the ERP rates can be carefully calibrated regularly.

    Ìs that screen always on? Does it at least dim in the dark? it seems very bright and potentially distracting

    • @ReizePrimus
      @ReizePrimus  8 месяцев назад

      Yes the screen is always on the moment ur ignition is turned on. It will not self adjust for ambient light, but you can set the screen brightness in the settings.

      @@ReizePrimus Grr. also: can it be used w/o a card, ie with vCashCard? If we need to leave the card inside, it will surely be stolen

      @ReizePrimus  8 месяцев назад

      @@sejtam as far as I know, vCashCard will also work with OBU based on comments from car owners with the new car OBU.

      @@sejtam Currently there is only 3 features for the obu 2.0 unit for motorcycle from the one motoring page:
      1) Linked payment account (seems like its for ERP)
      2) Paired devices (not sure what it does, connects to your phone)
      3) Notification to see your transaction (based on the rule you set e.g. consolidated transaction monthly, weekly or daily)
      I feel like its quite trash, as parking might still require the cashcard. (e.g. sometimes i forgotten my cashcard and would be stuck in the carpark)
      I feel that vcashcard parking will take awhile, since there is non-gantry parking spaces not sure how their going to implement it.

    These wires that goes to ignition and batteries tends to give an idea that authorities can kill your vehicle with the push of a button, let alone satellite track your speed by the second. Tyranical much.

    Hahaha....wait till the backlite display play-up in a couple of years. Again, is not about user friendliness, you are provided with an equipment like that and like that you have to use it. Don't like it, too bad. Same as in public buses, the seats are chia lat, don't like it don't seat. Not implying that you complain about everything on the OBU but it was role out as is, so what can motorcyclist do? It's Obviously Bad Unit (OBU) for operation compared to the older simplistic version.
