    The filming and editing and music is just exquisite: and in some way haunting. With each video I realise anew how little I'm settling for; how deep is the rut I'm in; how I could be doing so much better in terms of where and how I want to be. The world is so awful these days but my actual life doesn't need to mirror that: I can change things in my own daily life. Thanks, Rosie for reminding me.

    If you have to take off any more doors (I work alone too), put books under them and slowly lift them up. My doors are solid wood and very heavy. Then I just 'walk' them (or shimmy) until I can carefully move them aside and lean them on the wall. It really does work. Same in reverse when putting back on.

    Hi Rosie, your very skilled with wood , a natural , your designs are really lovely 😊, lift hinge doors , open them past 90 degrees it clears the door jam and architrave at the top , cut two long thin wedges make them so when hammered together they lift the door clear of the hinges , place wedges under the door close to inner part of the door ,it lifts easier that way bang the wedges together and the door pops off , also get 4 small castor wheels and make a long rectangular block of wood half the size of the door bottom edge ,fix castors on all 4 corners of the block of wood and you have a door dolly, you can run wood battons along the dolly to keep the door from slipping off , as a 16yr old labourer starting out i wasnt very strong a carpenter showed me this trick , and built the dolly i used it to move everything 😀 , your videos are so relaxing , just found your channel ,it's very different , 😊goid different. subscribed 👍

    • @repaid1317
      @repaid1317 Год назад

      Understandable, doing work by ones self isn't easy. One has to figure out how to engineer a helping hand. In this case she was taking the door off at the wrong end. Had she "jacked up" the door at the hinge side not the opposite as she did, it would have taken a few seconds to remove the door, it is simple physics. As it was she bound up the hinge points and created a much more difficult job for herself. One has to step back and work smarter rather than harder. Such as staining her flooring. It is much easier to move her drying and staging points right near her staining point, then she wouldn't be walking back and forth for each board from station to station for such a distance to each....Move the chairs once, or move each board several times several hundred feet along the cycle. Things most people can do if they just think about it. Take your time to do things easier thus faster with less effort. Again the key is to work smarter rather than harder, things go so much quicker when you have a plan first.

    The flooring you removed is quite expensive here in Canada, sheet vinyl, makes the best chicken coop floors, worth keeping around for future projects or a tent floor too

    That sheet of lino could come in very handy for something. Hope you will keep it. If I was to wear a new outfit to paint I would have paint all over it. lol

    I think this will take you about five years to get it to the way you want it, so do not worry about it, once everything is done you will feel so good and then you can give more time to your garden ❤

    Hello Rosie! You're so clever in your workstations. And your short set is adorable. I would need much more material. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts throughout your vids. I talk back to you, like in a conversation, then roll my eyes at myself cuz, yeah, you cant hear me! I wonder do you get lonely? I get to chat my husband and sisters ears off. I hope you have someone to do that with, even if they dont live near!
    Blessings from Tx!

    Very excited to see your wild flowers come in, you’ll be able to save all their seeds after they bloom for next years beds too! You can probably save the seeds from your tiny wild flowers already in your meadows on your property. There’s a big push here in the southern USA (georgia) to grow native wildflowers instead of short grass lawns❤
    Your matching twin set is sooo cute! What about putting inside slant pockets made from muslin? Would that be an option for them?
    So excited to see your home coming along you’ve done so much work in the last two years!!!

    Hi Rosie. Love to hear you enjoy making your own clothes, so do I.
    I hope when you have more time once your renervations slow down, you consider doing a how-to video on making patterns. Im great if I have a pattern to start. But not so much if I dont.
    Loving what I've seen so far. Im hooked. Kim x

    With wood for shelves or crown moulding or framing...it is much easier to stain ot paint them before they are applied...then you only have to touch up where the finishing nails were used
