The initial lag has been programmed to conserve the dry clutch dsg gearbox
Pete’s is working on a remap program for same. Told me it would be available in 2 months

The lag you are talking about in 1.5DSG is not actully lag. It has latest gen of DSG gearbox which keeps the car in Neutral (though it will show D) when the car is stopped. This is done to increase the life of gearbox.
Solution during drag race: leave the brake peddle a little early and the car will be in D1.

Dsg won't let you rev at stand still. For that you need launch control , which can be done through remap of gearbox.

1.5L Manual is the way to go for drag races. But try roll on from 10 or 20 kmph, which is what most people will care about. Then you'll see a clear winner.

As I'm seeing you are picking 1.5 by not reving rpm intially. Push brake and press half accelerator it revs up to 4000 rpm. This action will cancel 2 cyclider mode in 1.5. then check the results.

You always tend to take a half second head start ahead of Amit which leads to false drag results.. The 1.5 was standing still in the first race. Didn't even get off the line when the 1.0 was already gone but he blamed it on "lag".

I think you are doing something wrong. Because my experience on 1.5L Turbo is better than 1.0 L Turbo. 1.5L Turbo was much faster and had better acceleration. May be you should you test some other unit of these cars.

You should have compared manual transmission and not the DSG. In these cars the throttle is restricted while idling so avoid damage to the engine. You should be doing these drag races in a closed course and not on public roads.
