Everywhere in the film, the Zatoichi trademark is present, from gambling dens, gangster thugs, damsels in distress, and let's not forget that the sword is beyond doubt a "sword-cane" which is Zatoichi's unique trademark. The acting here however, can't stand up to Shintaro Katsu's acting and his directorial ability.
