Boy, those were mountains of clothes! I can see why you'd not want to sort them, but you powered thru magnificently! The closet looks amazing. You must feel such relief. Have your boys help you clean the crayon off the walls. Lesson in cause and effect.
I love a good declutter! I also love watching how other people organize. I may have to try the no fold method with my baby’s clothes! Cuz you’re right, I always fold my laundry and then 90% of the time it stays in the laundry basket and never makes it to the closet 😅 Also your comment that your toddlers don’t respect you had me laughing out loud 😂😂😂
I think you did a great job! You talk yourself through it really well and keep yourself calm and focussed and get it done! My favourite part was at the end when you we’re talking about the guestroom closet that is still messy and you just brushed it aside and said I’m focussing on the category! Awesome!!!!! Great before and after! Thanks for being so real and honest and sharing everything!
I usually look at clothes lots that are less than 3-4$per item. Since I can buy most Walmart brands at less than 8$ brand new. If it’s mostly name brand clothes I may be willing to pay 4-7$ per item if it still has tags or little to no visible wear.
I love decluttering videos! This is so motivational... I’m watching this on my lunch break and can’t wait to get off work so I can declutter my own closet! 🤣
I use those many bins too and even add one, the mending bin. I fold all the clothes as they come out of the line (no dryer only sun and wind), but the no iron method is great.
I agree about how folding and putting laundry away sucks!! sometimes I get ahead of myself and do 5 loads back to back and then look over at my laundry chair realizing that I have to put them all away 😅
Love the decluttering!! I found getting hand me downs for my daughter was way more work in the long run and much less special than actually picking out her clothes. So all I really kept out of her small sizes were the ones I picked that weren't stained or destroyed. I'm pretty minimalist though so it's not very expensive to pick out clothes and cat & Jack and Carters are pretty reasonable. Plus grandma's! And right now she will only rotate her 3 t-rex shirts. Oh 3 year olds...😆 Side note, while prices on cloud Island are good... quality is very lacking in what limited experience I've had with it. I bought one set of sleepers and one crib sheet. Both got holes after like one wash. Not impressed.
I agree. I would put the 5T on the top shelf out of reach. And if the 4T isn’t being worn right now, it would get put up on shelf. Less available for youngsters to pull out of bins makes it easier to keep cleaned up. I did this when my kids were young, I could rotate outfits if needed and it helped tremendously. Great job decluttering! Blessings!
I do a no fold method too. My two kids share a cabinet closet thing. And they get bins for each type of garment. My toddler helps me put them away😄. I also keep the sizes that they outgrow in lots for sale or donate. And lots I get for future use I keep them labeled in boxes... because they grow so fast!
100% no fold method. My 4 year old knows his bins and I honestly drop his clean clothes in front of them and he sorts and puts them away. He picks out his clothes the night before and puts the dirty ones in the laundry. I have one nice bin for each kid that has future holiday shirts or nice clothes he doesn't wear to daycare, and those I take care of and fold.
Just binged all ur decluttering vids! Love ur down to earth chitchat...not trying to be the perfect “RUclipsr” please keep decluttering love these!! ❤️🙏🏻😂
So glad you like them!! I just got done decluttering my pantry and editing it now. It was my biggest declutter yet, but I’m so happy with the outcome!!!!!
Love it! I just did the same thing to my stepsons clothes and am doing it to mine currently. Almost done with my closet but then will have my huge dresser lol.
I love Children's Place pants, my son tends to be long but on the leaner side so they have working elastic ties and th button over waist bands which he needs. And if you do clearance you can get a pair of shorts for $4-$5, it's awesome. Target pants always run so big, and Carter's sometimes the ties are real and work and sometimes they are just fake. Whereas onesies and shirts just are what they are I feel like pants are so key, nothing worse then them falling off
I love your videos! My kids are a bit older now, 12, 9, 9, and 5 (our last on the way) and we got the routine down that I fold and they put away. Which is way nicer than when they were little and I had to fold it all and put away just for them to rip everything out.. I love your no folding method and wished I used that when they were younger! Lol I love Walmart, cat and jack and also dip brand at our local Fred Meyer (Kroger) for cheap clothes for our kids. 😊
Oh I can’t wait till my kids can actually help with laundry!!! 😄 I’ve never looked at the clothing section at my Kroger, I’ll have to browse through it next time I go!!
oh 2020 😅😩 A Blippi Birthday would have been amazing! My mom bought us tickets to Blippi live and my twins were soooooo excited! but, 2020 😩😩Hopefully your son got some Blippi gifts!?
Loved your video, I used much the same method when raising my kids. Maybe someone asked this question already, did the 4T clothes bins get used before it was time? In other words, did the kids break out those clothes and mix them with the 3Ts? BTW, I kept up this method as they grew up. I had a big enough laundry room so that each of us (mom, dad, 4 kids) had their own clean laundry basket. So as the clothes came out of the dryer, the item was placed in the owners basket. Some kids took their clothes to their room, other kids dressed out of the laundry room. I also was able to toss holey socks as they came out of the dryer-love the all one color sock method! Eventually, they started doing their own laundry, then we only had to coordinate days. I had a donate box and a mend box on counter next to dryer. They were still using those after they moved out!
Oh my gosh Trader Joe's! Yes the nearest one is over an hour away but when we get there we stock up. Loved your video, I've got to muster up the energy to clean out our closets too! They're looking scary lol
Loved this video. Watched it as I started organizing my little one’s dresser. I barely have any extra clothes (either undersized or oversized) cos I declutter every few months. My space is very very small
I just love how relaxed you accomplished this mammoth task and applaud you! Aren’t you affraid your kids will pull out the 4t bins and it’ll get mixed up again? I would’ve but those up high, and also the 5t +. But maybe you’ve did that already. Anyway, new follower here! 🙏🏼
Hi Mai! I really enjoy watching declutter videos! That is a TON of kids clothing! Do you get 2 of the same thing for your twins? Or just have them wear whatever they want and not match? I have a "grow into" bin up in my son's closet (he turns 3yrs in Jan) I keep pretty organized by going through his clothes every so often. Or if I put something on him and realize it's too small, it goes in the "too small" bin. I then go through and add some pieces from the grow into bin that would fit him now. I also shop end of season sales to strategically buy for the coming years. Got that tip from Natalie Bennett here on RUclips! Eventually I go through the too small bin and seperate the sizes together for storage (if we decide on a second baby) Also textile recycling/donating stuff I don't want to keep anymore. I know that having 3 boys it would be way more difficult to keep up with their clothing though! I wish we had Target here! 🇨🇦 Thanks for letting us watch you declutter! So satisfying! Ps: I love folding laundry.... Is that weird?! LOL especially while I watch a show or RUclips xo
I sometimes get two of the same thing for my twins if it’s cute and on clearance! But for the most part they wear whatever clothes we hAve which isn’t all matchy. And I totally shop end of season sales too!! And to the part about you love folding I can Not relate lol! 😂😂 but I wish I could!
Love watching these videos that’s awesome you got SO much done in one day! 😍 I would probably pay $20-30 for the clothes lots, if they’re originally from Walmart, Carters, Target etc. How cute are those little cowboy boots!? ☺️ I just bought a haul of baby wear from Poshmark for my first lil one due in Jan! We live in Washington 🥶 shocked to see new baby snowsuits run for like $80! Found the cutest nearly-new Baby Boden one on Poshmark for $20. Cha Ching I love a bargain 😝
I couldn't not iron my son's clothes, no way could I send him out with wrinkled clothes on, he does his own now he is 32 after all and no he doesn't live with me and he is fully domesticated 😸 no way would I pass him onto another woman being useless in the home Like his Father 😸
For me the worse part of laundry is hanging clothes to dry outside in a line (everyone does it in my country), unless it rains for a week straight and i use the dryer lol
I put the Harry Potter set on my baby registry 🤣 we did a book in place of a card for my baby shower and my mom bought the HP set. I was stoked! My daughter has a small closet and an Ikea dresser I keep a tub in the bottom of her closet, actually its 2 diaper boxes, and I fill them with her clothes by size as she outgrows them. Then when the box if full I fold and put away that size in a clear bin that is labeled. I also keep an thread up bag in there and and toss in anything I don't want to keep (but I keep it folded over so nothing accidently makes its was in there) Then when its full I send it off and request a new one. I am way to lazy and not trusting of people to sell on Facebook. Ill take less money for no effort. I've never cashed in but I have a few hundred dollars on there and I think Ill use it for xmass gifts this year.
You are so amazing. What stores do you usually do your grocery shopping at? Do you ever stock up on anything like soda or water? Can you possibly do some in store grocery shopping videos? It would be awesome if you could show how you do your shopping
I do Walmart grocery pickup or shop in store at Target for the most part 😁 I live across the street from Target so I’m not super calculated when I shop there and go a couple times a week 😅😅
Same here! I love the creaseless and neatly folded look in my drawers. But then again, I'm a childless person in my early twenties.. let's see how I change if I have children :D

I would take their nice clothes from the dryer still damp, give a good shake, put on clothes hanger, and it finished drying in laundry room. Very little ironing. I call it work smarter, not harder!
I don’t really anymore. They have different haircuts right now and that makes it easier for people. Around certain family members I do put one in blue more often to help them out too :)
Girl I wish ppl donate or gave me clothes for my kids I’m the one giving n donating my kids clothes to other ppl. But I’m the type if I ask you do u want this come get it NOW lol I don’t like for it to be sitting in a bag in a corner of my house n have to look at it lol I want it out my house quick lmao.
I will put clothes up all day but hate folding. They stay in the dryer for a minimum of 48hrs due to me not wanting to fold. Unless we are packing to leave.
@@MaiZimmy yes! Normally when my husband is asking me where something is and I tell him unless you folded it then in the dryer 😂 Right before he deploys or we go on vacation it is the complete opposite

@@MaiZimmy well It's probably alot but I shop one size ahead so I can get the summer clearance stuff in winter and the winter clearance in summer for the next year. I shop walmart, target and patpat online. Walmart always does some good sales.
If you want to watch my last declutter video it is here: ruclips.net/video/F6aNynhqHQk/видео.html 😀
can i ask help? for your pre love clothes for my babies only?
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how chillax she is. 👏 LOVE how you started off w/ the crayon on the wall, “one crisis at a time” 🤣
😅😅🥰🥰 I like the word chillax a lot more than lazy, so thank you!! Haha
BAHAHA! Girl! No way! No lazy person cleans up ANY clutter. That’s how they prob become hoarders! Lmfaooo! 😅
Saw the crayon on the wall and subscribed. Thanks for keeping it real.
🥰😅🥰
Same. 😂

I love the way you do your decluttering videos. So many are just music and no talking through it, and it never keeps my attention.
Stellar job, Mai. YOU got this and I mean this all areas of your life and everyday.
i have been decluttering during covid and it has made a huge difference. We as a family are do much happier.
The bins you used for 5 t just label them and no need for plastic bins. It looks amazing great job
This was very satisfying and I don't even have kids.

@@Kygrl8 haha yes! I love it! I don’t feel bad about a load of laundry and dishes not done

😂😅Right!? When we're about to go on vacation all of a sudden I am a laundry master. but every other day of the year im looking for an out lol
@@MaiZimmy yes! Normally when my husband is asking me where something is and I tell him unless you folded it then in the dryer 😂 Right before he deploys or we go on vacation it is the complete opposite

50 bucks?!? Dang girl. Where do you live? I list my stuff pretty cheap.
I would pay the maximum of 30$ a lot. I get brand new stuff for really cheap so I won't buy used stuff
Can I ask where you buy your new clothes for cheap? I'm always looking for deals!
@@MaiZimmy well It's probably alot but I shop one size ahead so I can get the summer clearance stuff in winter and the winter clearance in summer for the next year. I shop walmart, target and patpat online. Walmart always does some good sales.
