I'd love to sleep there and it is a house. Building houses with traditional materials are perfect for the climate you have all around the world. And soon it will be a home too. I liked it a lot that you gave the children the opportunity to help. Their self confidence grows and they can see what they have achieved. I would even suggest that every kid that helped can leave a handprint inside or outside the house. To show that they were helping

You are mistaken Angella, you CAN call it a house. In the west, we call that a 'thatch' roof. Usually made from dries reeds/heavy marsh grass, just like yours. You can still see 'thatched' roof homes in Great Britain today. Very traditional and very good roofs. It's quite nice indeed. We would add a door (we get cold weather). Much love & congratulation! 🤗🤗

In Sweden we use straw from ray and those roofs last for 30 years and roofs from reeds last for 50 years. It's a nice little house.

Yup! In my village (and just outside) we have a few thatched roofs still standing. It's such an intricate art to make them and very admirable.
