      hehe, its because in the UK, well in 'England' we pronounce it the way its actually spelt in 'English' (which is actually our language and hence why the language you speak is not called American) So I guess its you guys who mispronounce it! lol. Examples (Nike) (Hike) (Trike) (Bike) You don't say Hikeeee or Trikeeee or Bikeeee do you? So why say Nikeeee? lmao

      History. The use of English in the United States is a result of British colonization of the Americas. The first wave of English-speaking settlers arrived in North America during the early 17th century, followed by further migrations in the 18th and 19th centuries. You will find you are trying to correct pronunciation of the language we created! It doesn't quite work that way.
