Before you boarded the plane, I guessed maybe 25 years old. But 34 years!! That's fantastic. Brilliant life for a plane. Will be sad when they're not around anymore.
Great vid of the 757! I love Jet2 and their service..I've flown many times with them on their 737s and 757s on SKG-STN, SKG-MAN, HER-MAN, MAN-PMI also flew leased A332 MAN-HER. Their seat-pitch on the 738 is way better than other 737s because of the curvature of the seats. And i love the fact that they give you the choice to pre-order a meal like Condor, instead of buying the usual toastie/sandwich/pizza only. Actually i found their meals tasty and worth the 10-11pounds for my flights that last 3,5-4h. Their crew is also very kind and helpful and so is their airport staff. Whenever i get the chance i fly with them.
@@martinquinn9007 ive not booked with jet2 for over 2.5 years easyjet holiday sells the same holidays as jet2 but a hell of a lot cheaper than jet2 and as i go away 4 times a year it saves loads compared to jet 2. jet2 have just hiked their prices since covid, my holiday to Lanzarote same dates same hotel nearly half the price of jet2
I was looking to make some flights with TUI as welll...but the fact that I cant see the seatmap before paying for the flight stops me from doing it... very sad that they do that... otherwise there would have been many more TUI flights on the channel✈️
@OnBoardHD well at least you can say you've done it. Nick of time to Jet2s 757s are going to begin the retirement phase with 3 gone in November and 3 in January but the final passenger service will be sometime December
I love Jet2holidays too. That's something the B757 is being replaced by the Airbus A321neo. Very nice trip report Manchester to Ibiza. Ibiza,Spain. The plane 34 years, 3 months. The B757 is being retired.
Especially when you compare it with ther other terminals hehe It is a pretty standard terminal to be honest if we compare it with other new terminals... but the UK airports, although easy to use (which is the most important thing) they aren't know by their beauty 😅😅
Hope all is well. I'd suggest giving Jet2's Airbus A321neo a try in the future, as it is Jet2's latest aircraft and will be replacing the Boeing 757-200. Hope to see a trip report of Jet2's Airbus A321neo in the future!

Nice report I really rate Jet2. We have booked 2 holidays with them next year to Turkey. They have made a profit during June/July. Very slick and I think have their own handling agents at resorts.

It's a real shame the 757 is being retired but given its age, it's kind of inevitable it would happen. The A321neo is just that much better in terms of fuel consumption, low noise and efficiency, but the 757 is still a beast of a plane. Maybe if Boeing gets their act together they might do a newer version.
The only budget airline I don't get back pain after sitting for over an hour. Plus, they do a decent sized cup of coffee, not the half measure served by BA
Great report, Jet 2 this year especially from Manchester have had a poor season, there poor 757 is way to long in the tooth nowadays and has suffered so many technical delays, along with there 737 fleet and also there new 321 NEOs have had there fair share of delays due to tech faults, flights have set of only to return to Manchester with issues. Only issue I have with Jet2 is the constant pre automated announcements throughout the entire flight, it really starts to get annoying, hence why I preferer TUI for holiday type flights, they seem more professional.
In my opinion, the 757 is the most beautiful airplane ever built !!💕🩷✈️ So sad that Boeing discontinued it !!😒😢 I wonder if they are regretting that decision, but the company has been making some very stupid and costly mistakes since 1997. I will miss the "5" when it completely disappears but I thank you for posting this.
