      if the owner wasn't running around the locker room dropping f bombs and worrying about how it looks on him. maybe he wouldn't be looking so much like an ass to his team and the company. hard to follow someone who can't keep it together and has to shove his nose into every bit of the team. i wouldn't play for that kind of man.

      @gsisemore 6 месяцев назад +1

      How is it luck that they picked him when no one else did? They didn’t want him to become a UDFA so they took a flyer on him with the last pick. Then he looked good during the preseason and they knew he would get grabbed off of waivers so they cut Nate Sudfeld and ate the 2 million dollars they had guaranteed him to to carry Purdy into the season on the 53 man. Everyone got hurt so he got his opportunity and hasn’t looked back. Are they lucky that everyone got hurt? Or are they lucky for being the only team who wanted him on their roster enough to draft him? I feel that they are as lucky as any other team finding their franchise qb.

    • @michaelmcguigan5278
      @michaelmcguigan5278 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@gsisemore come on man anyone taken in the 7th period is a flyer . It’s someone a franchise of course was somewhat interested in, but there’s no expectation. If they do anything on the field it’s all a net positive. Brock was barely a step above a kid that would be a udfa , and was certainly not thought to be the 2023 starter. Especially with the things they mortgaged for Lance. It was a shot in the dark that hit .

    • @AlexTrevelyan
      @AlexTrevelyan 6 месяцев назад +11

      In the free agency era, a coach that wins the Super Bowl is in the playoffs by year 2 of his tenure with the team he wins the Super Bowl with. This isn't the 80s or 90s, you can rebuild teams overnight. Look at the Texans under DeMeco Ryans or the Jags under Doug Pedersen. Pedersen won the Super Bowl in his second year in Philly. Steichen might have a Colts team that was putrid under Reich in the playoffs in his first year.

    • @joedepalo3230
      @joedepalo3230 6 месяцев назад +4

      I used to think the same thing, but then I looked at all the teams that win, look at the last 40 years of Superbowl teams, they all have coaches that came in and started winning within the first 2 years. None of them had a coach they hired and had a losing record for 3 plus years.

    • @thatswhatsgood24

      @joedepalo3230 yeah but those aren't poverty franchises. There's no stability to build cultures for teams. It's been a weird year where all the historically terrible franchises are actually doing well except the jets. They could be juggernauts for years to come or they could be one or two year flukes. Historically, they are flukes, but I would be glad to be proven wrong in the future.

    To all these teams having issues with keeping your QB on his feet. GET YOUR FREAKING O-LINE RIGHT. I'm tired of seeing good QBs ruined by bad GMs and Coaches. Don't pick a QB in the first round if you don't plan on fixing your O-line. If a veteran QB goes to a team with a bad O-line that's on him but if you draft a QB make sure he has a decent O-line. The scheme was terrible, and he did nothing to adapt it to the players we have. The play calling was even worse. Most games this seadon, we have scored 1 offensive touchdown. Everything else is field goals and defensive tds. Absolutely the right call, now get rid of Fitterer cause hes the reason we have no picks. @@jhinckle90I agree to an extent. Bryce has a lot of issues. However every qb is different and his issues can be fixed, sure he isn’t as talented as Stroud but it isn’t fair to label anyone a bust after one season. More pressing is the team. The o-line ranks bottom of the league. Stroud had 4 practice squad players at o-line and they outperformed the panthers starting line in every metric. The panthers wide outs get less than half a yard of separation most plays. Mingo, the number 2 wide out has the lowest catch rate on catchable balls in the league, and that’s Bryce’s second best target. It’s honestly sad to see Bryce extend a play for 10+ seconds and still not have ANYONE open. He will take a snap, his poor footwork doesn’t help him, he gets pressured in less than a second. Then he runs around avoiding defenders showing off his talented ability to extend plays, then look downfield and see no one open whatsoever. Then he throws the ball away. I honestly don’t see how ANY qb could operate in these conditions, let alone a rookie.

    Young only looks bad because of how good Stroud is looking. But the reality is that the Panthers traded for the #1 pick, not Bryce Young. They could have picked Stroud.
    The worst trade in History and no one talks about it, is the 49ers trading 3 firsts for the #3 pick. That year, Rodgers became disgruntled, and the 49ers would have had a chance to steal him for 3 firsts(or maybe 4). But they had already traded the picks away, and ONE #3 pick wasnt good enough.

      The difference is that owner of the Texans finally figure out that it about developing a good culture, on the team. You cannot buy a championship because it is so hard to see how a player will develop. In professional baseball you can watch them grow up from 16 to 25 and see them develop. In the NFL there out of high school sometimes they might play one or two years in college. That's simply not enough time to watch them develop. So it is a total crap shoot if they would make a good player.

    The Panthers balked at trading Brian Burns to the Rams for 2 first-round picks and a second round pick. Burns has never recorded a double-digit sack year in his career and is about to get paid. That's malpractice by the Panthers front office. Team should of drove him to the airport and flown him to LA in Gulfstream for that kind of draft haul. The Rams are terrible, imagine how high those picks would be and they said no!
    You can blame Young's struggles on the inability of the organization to build a quality team around him, but they traded the house to get a guy that no one thought would be a superstar at the next level. He was not an Andrew Luck/Trevor Lawrence/Joe Burrow level dude. Wasn't Cam Newton. Wasn't even Justin Fields. Just a completely incompetent organization. Bad process. Bad scouting. Bad coaching. All punctuated by bad ownership. Is Tepper another Dan Snyder? A petulant man-baby scumbag? Or just another clueless rich guy like Arthur Blank? Either way, not good for the future.

    My thoughts on this are that this was a needed fire… Neither of them believed in Bryce… This reminds me of the Dolphins firing Brian Flores. Flores was open in his feelings about not drafting Herbert over Tua and now that he’s gone Tua is a top 5 QB. It’s obvious that Frank and Josh wanted Cj Stroud but David made them take Bryce! They just need a staff that fully believes in Bryce.

    Even though Frank Riech isnt the absolute worst coach you could ask for. I wasn't suprised he was fired. He never seemed to adapt as a play caller and just made poor choices (imo) in certain situations.
    The Titans game was a perfect example. 4th and 6 with the game on the line and the play is a screen pass to Thielen. That type of play calling has been there since week 1.
    Sure, it could be that Bryce isnt quite developing how they want. Shit, I could tell you after week 3 that Young just seemlingly wasnt getting it. Not talking about the plays where hes constantly pressured but even when he isnt he rarely ever throws it past the LoS or a few yards in front of it. Its just tourture having to watch my team go down like this 😭

      lol David Tepper and Scott Fitterer don’t know how to make trades that benefit them so please stop making trades that’s not the answer. I’m fully on board with the conspiracy that Tepper was able to buy the team because the nfl majority owners voted him in because he knew absolutely dick about football, now those owners have a cattle team they can get trades from and then also one less contender for playoffs

Which would also probably cost the Eagles several position coaches. It would not surprise me in the least, if that happens to see Siriani, bring in Reich, Staley and McCown.

    NFL teams sell hope, nothing sells hope better than a new QB. Few things sell hope worse than an offensive lineman. This past free agent receiver class was one of the worst ever, there are some decent wide receivers scheduled to hit the market this offseason. Ryan Poles knew what he was doing, he needed a WR and knew that whatever team traded him that WR would be pretty dammm bad this year.

    Also you should never ever place all of your eggs in one basket. Especially like Mike said if you don't have a good amount of talent already in place. It doesn't help that they have a billionaire owner who's better at playing Monopoly board game than being an owner. The Panthers are starting to look like the NFC version of the Cleveland Clowns. While Frank Riecht might be a good OC that doesn't make him a good head coach. But he and Bryce were put in the very worst situation. I feel for them both. Young might end up on the draft "Bust" list unfairly.

    Panthers not having a 1st does suck but it’s not te end of the world. We just need to trade D players for more picks, draft as much young talent we can to surround Bryce, and spend money in free agency to get some good defense in the building. Having a high power offense and a bottom 10 Defense is better for Bryce and if it takes a season or two to draft defense so be it. At least Bryce gets to be productive and not look like a damn fool on the offensive side

    I get the niners drafting trey lance and obviously it didn't work out for either party's, unlike Carolina San Francisco has talent all across the board they just needed a better QB than Jimmy G.
    But with Carolina to trade all that away with 2024 been a better class for QB & wide outs & whatever player's u want to throw in, Carolina just needs to get out of their own way.

      The 49ers trade is the worst trade in NFL history by FAR. Based on who they drafted, what they could’ve had if they stayed in that original spot and especially all the picks they gave up to get a bum that barely started and looked incompetent.
