Lucille knew what she was going to do. She didn't want him to go. She just wanted him to stay and be there for it. She killed herself the same day he left. She had the same clothes on.

This episode was so unbelievably well done. Doesn't even feel like they were working with less than 1/2 of their production crew. Hopefully this is a taste of what's to come for season 11! Also, I now REALLY want a mini series that picks up after the events of the bar scene and shows how Negan built the saviors.
The first 5 episodes were also all really well shot and acted, but they did suffer from obvious restrictions due to corona. This episode doesn't feel like that though. It was like watching a mini Negan movie. I'd be down to watch a season-long spin off starting with what happens after the bar in this episode, all the way up to him coming out of the RV when he has our group lined up. End the season with him saying "are we pissing our pants yet?" then cut to black. Would be dope.
@@MFBloosh imo, episode 21 was the worst in the show. Carol chased a rat? idk lol. I heard it was bad and waited until Here's Negan released so I could watch them both lol

The fact Laura had such a big part of negans start makes her pointless death even worse
The one thing this doesn't explain is how Negan's group went from a doctor, his daughter, Laura and himself to...Saviours.

@@TheKannibalistic There has to be. Since him and Maggie will most likely be coming to odds soon, they'll have to show some more backstory for him.
@@robert04872 I’m guessing Negan joined them for a while and then one day Franklin (doctors name) got bitten and then he asked Negan to put him out of his misery and b4 he turned he told Negan to look out for Laura which Negan honored and then after that maybe they found Dwight and Sherry and then Simon came a long and then Gavin, Arat, Regina, DJ and the rest of the saviors came one by one and also it would be cool to see Negan first find the sanctuary and clear it of walkers.

I've been saying that since this episode originally aired. I would love a mini-series that takes place from Negan going to the bar to rescue Franklin and Laura and killing those bad guys to him walking out of the RV in the season 6 finale.
Easily one of the best episodes of walking dead. Could have easily watched a mini series on Negans back story. Love that Wills here for it too! Feels like old times XD

I think it's safe to say Negan is the best character in Walking Dead at this point. I actually got emotional watching this one. What a great episode!
Rick will forever be number 1, but Negan is number 2, no debate.

@@MFBloosh For sure Rick is number 1 because we've seen his character development for almost the whole show. Negan has been here for 4 years on the show I personally think he can't top Rick but with Rick not here Negan is the best character of the season and 2nd for the series.

the title is an understatement. i feel like everyone was kind of confused and less excited for these "COVID" episodes (which i disagree, i loved most of the new episodes), but they can't lie and say that this one wasn't good. we've been waiting for a Negan/Negan & Lucille backstory and we got it! i haven't even watched this reaction yet, but i know that y'all are going to love it :D

Me too, man. I STILL share that skit with people that ask me about playing "Willgan" on here-- that was such a great memory with these guys/gals (along with countless others). One of my faves is still the "Negan Wives" skit. haha
Without a doubt, this is one of the best episodes & probably one of the best redemption stories I have EVER witnessed. Ever since we saw Negan come on screen, he was this facist, horrible & unforgivable man. Now, he's a literal "savior". Such an phenomenal episode. Well done Walking Dead! Can't wait for Season 11! ❤️

Lucille was a good woman. Too good for even Negan if you ask me. After he cheated on her with her friend(Janine), she had grounds to leave him. I still don't feel sorry for Negan, but at least I know why he was so broken.

Loved the reaction, guys! I really appreciate that these bonus episodes have so many layers, including 10x21 (which I know you guys didn’t like but I loved). This one was even more layered than the others. When Lucille kissed him goodbye just before he left, she had already made the decision to kill herself. (It was pointed out on TTD that she was still wearing the same clothing.) That’s why she was asking him to stay. So she wouldn’t be alone in her final moments.
Negan couldn’t accept that and left anyway, knowing deep down she wouldn’t be alive when he got back. But he was in denial, because he didn’t want to have to stay there and watch her die. Trying to get the chemo meds was his excuse for not being there while making it feel like he was doing something. That’s why he apologized to her at the end as he was burning the bat, saying he was sorry that he’d been a coward (by not staying with her). This was discussed and confirmed by JDM, HBM and the writer of the episode on The Talking Dead.

This episode (along with greats like "Walk With Us" and "One More") makes Season 10 the third best Walking Dead season for me (after Seasons 5 and 4, in that order). This show gets a lot of flak, but two bad seasons (7 and 8) against eight seasons that are at least good (4, 5, 9, and 10 are great for me) makes it a very good show, in my opinion.
I love this character. And he's the best part of the show now. No one should forget what happened. But lots of people seem to forget how Rick and Co just massacred a ton of sleeping saviors... I mean, there are no angels in this show. ✌️💯

Not Glenn, that was destined. But I was fkg irate that they spared Abraham the arrow (thanks Denise!) And then took him out before All Out War. He would've been SO good!

I think Negan's wife was already planning to take herself out. She knew he would never give up on his own.
Bringing up that she knew about the affair and making the point to let him know that he's forgiven/made up for it was the tipoff for me...
I think Negan was too convinced that after those last 3 treatments, it would mean she was absolutely cured when that's not always the case and they would have no way to know. And Lucille knew that Negan would never give up on her and would have to continue going further and further out. And her telling him she knew about the affair and giving him the jacket was her way of giving herself piece of mind before he left and she killed herself. I think she knew she didn't have much longer and that she didn't want to die in bed next to him and bite him.

Maggie's son name is "Hershel" after grandpa
On the talking dead the writer and Hilarie Burton said the implication was Lucille killed herself the day Negan left as she’s wearing the same clothes and she’d been planning this a while as the walker she killed was with their last bullet which she had been saving for herself.

If you appear in the pilot disappear for one and a half seasons and then die at the end of season 2 you weren't in it for 2 seasons🤦♂️. "Like 4 episodes" is definetely closer than "like 2 seasons"
And then he still popped up years later. IMDB has it listed that he's in 13 episodes of the show, though I know in at least one it's just his voice.

Honestly if the entire COVID season of episodes were just a “Here’s Negan” 6-parter, I think it would’ve been better off. The rest of the episodes were pretty mediocre especially the last one being just survival tutorials. 10x19 was really good tho. I didn’t think I’d ever care that much about Gabriel & Aaron.
Character development is what this show needs. Obviously aside from Rick, Michonne, & Carl, the show was never the same after losing Shane, Hershel, & Glenn. If they could rebuild star power like that, then this final season could be very exciting.

I dont think his wifes death was an automatic switch. Hes said throughout that the saviours were meant to save people. I think he started off with good intentions and eventually lost sight of who and how he was supposed to save.

Okay, then by your take... Negan messed up using Lucille on Glenn... It's a different world.
The episode was good, but One More with Robert Patrick was far superior. It was smartly written and made you think by it's conclusion.
I hope Maggie will be able to come to grips with the fact that the person she wants to kill doesn't exist anymore. He suffered and rotted in a jail cell for 7.5 years. He got to his lowest point to where he tried to kill himself but couldn't do it. Then when Maggie came to avenge Glen she couldn't do it even when Negan asked because she was more satisfied with watching him suffer. And now since she's back and Negan isn't suffering anymore she wants to finally kill him. If she does go through with it it will be straight-up murder hands down with no good reason for it. The new Negan helps people, saves people, builds for these people, and will pretty much do any chore they ask him to do. Sorry but Maggie had her chance and she blew it. Negan did his time and saved everyone from Alpha. He deserves a 2nd chance.

Just a Prediction: At some point in season 11 Maggie is gonna hurt Negan but not kill him. Then at some point Maggie will be in BIG trouble with the Reapers and they take Hershel. I predict that Negan is gonna end up saving Hershel and Maggie will thank him but not 100% forgive him. Tell me your predictions! 😁👍

Best episode in ages. Loved this. Also on Talking Dead they confirmed she killed herself the day he left (same clothes were meant to flag it) which makes it so very sad and she used the last bullet to save him and so couldn’t use it on herself. Heartbreaking stuff and superbly acted.

One of my fave "Chris moments" was WAY back during a TWD reaction (OG Normies might remember). It was a Matrix reference: When a lady, in a red dress, randomly walked by us in the lobby, he immediately said "Were you paying attention or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?". His brain is instantly triggered to grab perfect comic moments like that-- it's uncanny.
So is there a specific reason why you go on a lot of these Walking Dead reactions and give out spoilers?
@@chrisnichols9840 Fine I will come clean...I have an Agenda against streaming services giving out content for pay early while those without have to wait for it to air for everyone else...so me and thousands of others are spoiling the episode in hopes fans retaliate and blame AMC+ etc for giving out episodes early so that they stop and we all watch together as one at the same time of course after it airs universally then you are on your own cuz well dem da rules

Should Negan have stayed?
Yes, he even says as much at the end of the episode. Lucille asking him to stay was her saying that she had made the decision to die - be it through suicide, assisted suicide, or letting the cancer run its course - and that she was ok with that, but what she needed from him was to have him be there to help her through it simply by loving her till the end. She was telling him what she needed from him, but instead he did what he needed for himself. Lucille recognised that Negan wasn't ready to let her go and acted selflessly by not insisting he stay. In contrast, Negan leaving was a selfish act and although he may not have realised that at the time, although he may have convinced himself otherwise, he had come to understand that by the time we see him apologising to her for leaving as he sits in front of the fire.
I thought that was a really human and really beautiful full-circle moment. It was wonderfully written and superbly acted by Jeffery Morgan. I also loved the symbolism of him burning the bat to indicate that he was leaving the cowardly, unfeeling, down-right terrible person that he had become behind and in doing so, would for the first time truly be "doing her fighting for her" (i.e. attempting to live a life that honours the memory of his late wife). I think Negan's gone back to Alexandria to be a part of the community if possible and to give what he can to help the community, even if doing that ultimately means having to give his life.
