This was fun but I felt it focussed too much on what suits Trinny, her body shape and her style personality. I would love to see a video featuring several models with different body shapes and styles, to see what flatters other people, too.
Agree. That would be really helpful to fill out these concepts more. Sometimes I try the Trinny look and realize it doesn't work for my body shape at all. But I suppose the spirit of this is to try and try again. Just keep experimenting, trust your gut, tweak until you feel fab.
I have long legs and a short torso, so most of this advice doesn't apply to me 😭. It would be nice to see her dress different body types 😁

For those of us who overheat in a “shoulder pad top” like Trinny has here, there are shoulders pads that just attach to the bra straps. I wear these a lot, they’re not extreme, just a standard small size, and they sharpen up the shoulders a little and make clothes hang better. My shoulders are too narrow for most clothes, but I can only size down so much because of my full bust. So shoulder pads take up that bit of extra fullness in the fabric there. I also put them into my beloved knit blazers, they make a huge improvement. A small shoulder pad can be great, but unfortunately, designers have already taken them to the extreme again. Bigger isn’t always better. I wish they would focus more on flattering fits, not just art pieces.

Any chance you have a link ? I found the Zara tee shoulder pad was too large. Looked weird on me.
With all the new jean styles i.e. wide, short,crop,crop straight,crop flair- I never know which shoes to wear without looking frumpy!

It's all about trying different things and seeing which combination is the best, the same way Trinny is doing in these Closet Confessions.
Though, I usually just use tennis shoes with the majority of my clothes. I'm sooo lazy.
When Trinny described why collars on shirts don't work on people like me who have a narrow face, etc. etc., I was so excited! She explained it perfectly and is why I never liked collared shirts on me!! I can't tell you how many times I am annoyed when influencers keep saying that a button-down shirt is an absolute necessity in your wardrobe! This video is absolutely the best!!
The end of the crop is the end of the leg for me; crops are incredibly unflattering unless they could pass as a skirt. High wasted skinny jeans would suit Trinny much better than the low waisted in this video. I have the high cheekbones etc that Trinny says suit collars but a mandarin or grandad neckline is infinitely better on me.
I have tried wearing wide leg jeans and I just can't get used to it I definitely feel more comfortable in a high wasted navy slim leg over any other style 😊Trinny you rock the wide leg jeans ❤
I heard recently (from Trinny even?! I can't recall) that wide leg jeans can overwhelm your frame if you're short. Maybe the height is why Trinny can pull off that look so well. 🤔 That said, I'm short and I wear wide leg and enjoy it, but I have to balance it with a tighter top and show my arms/neck to not get swallowed up by them.

Interesting about collars and their relationship to your lower face. I never thought about that.
My face is narrow too and I do feel that way about scarves...they're overwhelming, especially the big pashminas that were so popular awhile back.
I find the same with scarves. If it’s a cotton scarf I sometimes cut it in half so there’s less of it.

I’d love to hear about distressed or holey denim, when does it work or not work? For me, I’ve learnt I don’t like the fading that runs down the thigh as it makes my legs look chunky!

Trinny, you can 'go cropped' as much as you wish. Personaly, I think you don't have to wear any Tshirts at all and you will be dressed the most beautifully!

You always look great Trinny, but I'm not crazy about the very skinny jeans with chunky boot. Minny Mouseish? I'm the reverse of you...short waist size 18 top, 14 bottom. I often love what you wear but it doesn't work for me. What I really love is the way you analyze shape and manipulate outfits to make them work. 💕 Stunning

Trinny PLEEASE help us in the southern hemisphere when it comes to summer dressing - too hot for shoulder pads or jackets. What would you recommend in very hot climates? Will be entering summer in my third trimester 🥵
I just spent almost 2 weeks in a very hot and humid climate. It was a challenge to add a 3rd layer, but I wore some sheers silk or polyester blazers, vest and long sheer trench coat and made me feel good. But I can't see myself dressing everyday without a 3rd layer.
❤jeans. The problem is that now I find everything out of fashion except for wide leg jeans. So I have many that I haven't used for years. Is it worth keeping them? For me, the silver jean is a no. It looks old fashioned. Love this series. I would like more of these style.
Just a thought but with something like “how to find the perfect….” it would be great to include Chloe, Jemima and Molly so that there are lots of different body types (only if they want to obviously). I’m 157cm and so nothing like Trinny and so even though I appreciate her perspective, it doesn’t actually apply to me.
After losing half my body weight, there is no way Im going cropped with all the excess skin 😂 But Trinny looks fantastic 👌

The pcoket placement in the zara jeans is ok. Fit nice on you. Compares to the other dark color zara jeans that you always mentioned that you love. That jeans always drive me crazy just because of the very low pocket placement.

Been trying on jeans, at Zara, no luck 😏 still not know what works for me, 165/almost no waist torso length same as leg’s pointy 56 year tummy and big rack.With the high waist it seems like I am wearing a diaper at back and my crutch 🫣one thing I know cropped or full length straight or wider leg is good…will keep on trying to find it! I walked into Levi’s store asking to try on a bootcut Wedgie style- they had nothing bootcut so I tried on the Wedgie straight which did nothing for me. When I came out the sales assistant told me I looked great in the bootcut I was wearing and said he would ring Levi’s head office to request they make a bootcut style-- the young man knew what looked good- I just wish he was the designer.

@dianebaven2457 Interestingly, I've heard some good feedback about H&M jeans. Could be worth a look! /Sounds like a mid-rise style may suit you. In the case of a 'big rack' (as you say), it helps to visually create some space between your chest and the jeans waistband. A mid-rise jean will also give some fabric control over your tummy.

Maybe that’s why I love wearing things with collars, I have both high cheekbones and a square jaw. I also have a really small head and face and I like the way a collar frames it. I think your neck is elegant, Trinny, a long and columnar shaped neck like yours is an asset. My neck and shoulders are some of my favorite body features, my neck is columnar, too, with no widening at the base, and long enough for my petite size. My shoulders, though a bit narrow, have a nice square shape, and are exactly the same width as my narrow hips. I just wish I had your beautiful teenage arms! I’m not fat, but the serious collagen loss over the last decade has made them wrinkly (I went through menopause without hormone therapy, but not for lack of trying to get them prescribed, to no avail). Age 63, San Francisco. My request: I would love jean recommendations for a narrow-hip and thigh rectangle-shaped body. I’ve never found a pair of jeans that fit in 50 years, I just don’t have the curvy hips and thighs of most women.

It’s really important to show jeans and clothes on women of different sizes, shapes and heights. I love trinny but can’t relate to the clothing side of things. Would love some ideas relevant for me, especially now in my 50s.

Am I the only person who doesn't like jeans? I have one pair and I use them for outdoor stuff. I just find denim not comfortable. I do like chambray, though. Otherwise, I'll just get a demin-wash color in some other fabric.

The tummy is super toned but the crop tops don’t work for some reason.
I can say it because I'm the same age as Trinny. Crop tops only look good on young people otherwise you look like your trying to look young IMO.

Midlife crisis makes as do some weird things, wearing a crop top to show off a toned core is one of them, as much as I like the Trinnihood I hope ladies following it recognize it for what it is and not feel they are not adventurous enough. I really am not a fan of someone your age showing off their mid riff. It does not suit you at all Trinny, it makes you look less classy than you are. Crop tops are for teenagers and that's just the way it is.
Crop tops are for anyone regardless of size because they can add balance and proportion 😊
