How to make the LCD screen rotate back 135 degrees so you can check critical focus, framing, and exposure. Takes less than 5 minutes.

All those extra steps take away from what the vlogging thing is about, you should be able to quickly whip out your camera and press record. Not whip out your camera, go through sony's crap menu system to find the wifi connection options, grab your phone..bla bla bla, i couldn't even be bothered typing the rest.... you get where im going with this?
Zero Point Productions Nope. I do not get where you are getting with this. You don’t have to go to camera menu. You just connect to camera wifi on phone with one click and click on app in mobile if you paired phone with camera before any time. Have you ever been vlogging or used that app on phone? Never seen anyone need to start recording vlog in 1 sec. With phone it takes me maybe 10 sec to make camera ready for vlogging and I don’t have to lose camera warranty and make it not easy to sell.

Really it probably has to do with lack of opening and closing doors and keys and that kind of B-roll. And also because he rides a semi-dumb transportation tool only for the functional value of getting the smoothest gimbal shots in the game, as opposed to riding all kinds of bullshit one wheels and stuff for no reason.

I heard that Canon own the patent for the flippy screen you see on their cameras. Apparently Panasonic licence it off Canon but Sony aren't willing to do that. I think this is the reason for the completely different design where it flips upwards rather than out.

Just ordered an a7III and I blame you fully! What is your view on lenses since E-Lenses are often way more expensive than EF? Should I get an adapter and EF-Lenses or is that a disadvantage (I guess in regards to focus and stabilization). Starting from scratch for I only own MFT-Lenses so far (no Canon lenses to re-use). I'm also a youtuber and a7III owner... Actually don't need that much of a flip for vlogging but for SHOOTS... I always shoot from low angle and it's kinda hard when I need to lie mid street cuz I don't have a flrip LCD... If I die during this kind of shoot I'm gonna add a flip in the heaven :DDDD

I have been using that string trick for my sony a7riii but using the drawstring from my hoodie it works pretty well but I still want a proper flip out screen

I'm told the reason Sony does not have a flip screen is that Canon holds patent to the flip screen on _full frame_ digital cameras. Not all digital cameras (so GH5 can have a flip screen), just FF. Makes no sense to me, but that's the claimed reason the new FF Panasonic won't have a flip screen either.

We should call this the "Alpha-A Hack". To tribute the Alpha A-mount Sony's DSLT cams that have the articulating screen that goes down all the way, and a couple of others that go Down and UP (a77, a99)!
I just do something similar to your string hack, I just hold the camera with 1 hand, focus on the other hand. Then turn the camera around! More reliable than auto focus 😎

You know what's funny? They do already have the BEST flip for camera on Earth. It is on their latest A mount cameras, a77, a99 marks I and II. Go check it out, it's literally insane. Rotates, swivels at insane angles and hinges close to any friggin way you want.
And they abandoned it on their best sellers. I really don't understand why. :(

Why the need for this ribbon, I have a Sony RX100 and that has one but my canon PowerShot G7x does not and the canon flip out screen is more sturdy, flimsy Sony ribbons must end.
Would it be possible (for someone who actually knows what they're doing) to buy 2 ribbon cables for the screen and connect them together to extend the length and range, then make a custom hinge, perhaps by bolting 2 hinges together to make a screen that fully flips up and over the viewfinder or even out to the side?
The cables that are available for the a7s ii and a7r ii are super cheap, if someone had the knowledge of how to connect both ribbon cables together to double the length this might potentially work...
I don't yet own this camera due to the non flippy screen limitation so can't try for myself, but if anyone has the balls to try this, let me know how it goes 😂

I think Sony would have to pay royalty fees to canon for having a side flip out screen. That’s probably why Sony and other camera brands don’t do it.

Bro what is the next best camera next to sony a7 iii. I know I wanna buy it. But it's too much as I'm starting out. I know my photos are amazing. But i need the charity. I won't be satisfied otherwise. I tried D3400 nikon for some months and I really enjoy but the clarity is not at all great with the kit lens. 18 55 and 70 300. Kit lens. I have some good 1st time using dslr captures with this camera but I still wish I could buy Sony please let me know your suggestion. Mirrorless and Full frame these 2 are my priority but keeping budget in mind I wish I can have something for half the cost of sony a7iii with kit 28 70.
Or just get the body of a7iii but kit is cheaper or get tamron. Any suggestion just incase I still have to buy sony a7iii

Not sure about this. I shoot manual mode mostly:/
face tracking works just in 1080p 60 on my a73. autofocus on fields or focus points works even in 4k and 120p with an external monitor...

Don't need a longer cable. It reaches to the maximum that the articulating arms will move as is.

I see a lot of very anoyng and stupid arguments why Sony should not add the flippy screen all over and over again. If it was there from the beggining there would be no argument whatsoever. I've never seen any complaints for Sony a-mount fully articulated screens, so what's the freaking deal with the e-mount one? People are just retarded funboys, that's what is going on...

The thing is (someone said it) that Canon hold patent for fully flipable LCD displays for Fullframe Camera's, thats why sony doesn't have it. Dunno if its true. :)
