- How to Fix Error 0x800700EA [ English ]
***Apologies for the crappy audio!
Just rename your file to something simple so your destination file (external hard drive or USB can understand it)
Hopefully, this helped you out
I am sending *love* and *positive energy* of gratefulness to you, wherever on this planet you may be. *THANK YOU!*
I had a problem deleting a file with Japanese characters from my external HDD, I originally copied it there from my laptop as a backup. I tried renaming it, but I kept getting the _"0x800700EA more data available"_ error. I had this problem with several files, on both of my external HDDs. I solved one situation by formatting the HDD, as there were only backups on it, but on the other HDD I have backups plus other files, so formatting it was not good.
I tried all kinds of things, but I couldn't do anything with the problematic files, I kept getting the _"0x800700EA more data available"_ error. Finally, I came across your video and your suggestion in the comments below. I went to Control Panel -> Region -> tab 'Administrative' -> Change system locale... and I unchecked "beta:use unicode utf-8 for worldwide language support." I restarted my laptop as prompted by the subsequent dialog box and I tried deleting the problematic files after restarting.
*IT WORKED!* I could delete the files right away! *THANK YOU AGAIN!*
