AWESOME video. God bless you. 😂. Seriously. All of a sudden my sprinklers stopped coming on at 7am and started coming on at noon on the set days. Couldn’t figure out why because I was not the one who set it previously and hand NO experience setting the timer and frequency. After watching your video I’m now educated on the matter and was able to put 2 & 2 together and realize that the guys putting a new roof on my neighbor’s house must’ve rotated the clock without asking me so that they wouldn’t get wet when they were working in between our homes. I'm trying to find a "smart / wifi" controller that will replace this one and turn the pump on and off with an app. I think it's a 220V line. Can you recommend one inexpensive? Great instructional video; thank you for sharing your knowledge. Now I am a bit frustrated with our Intermatic R8806P101C Sprinkler/Irrigation Time Switch with 14-Day Skipper. I am testing my settings again for the %& time; I set the pins according to the time-slots I want to water the lawn; however, when set in "Automatic" mode and after the clock-wheel advances to the next day - I expect to see the sprinkler's spraying water in the front yard on the contrary our system will always commence watering in the backyard. I am beginning to wonder if the backyard is the system's default "First Zone"? I am wondering if I have to add two-(2) additional gold pins for Index Valve Rotation; then that means I am watering two areas of the backyard before the front yard. Our system has the ability for four-(4) index valves, but whoever installed the irrigation system many years ago installed only three-(3) index valves. I just tested the Index valves; they rotate according to my test - yeah, but after midnight I am not too encouraged for tomorrow morning the true test if the front yard gets watered in the morning and the backyard gets watered in the afternoon.

Hello. Thank you for the help. Do you know how can I shut up one zone? I have 6. One I will cap the pipes and make a side walk. But than I still have 6 zones pipes. Im thinking about having only 5 clips of 12 min each . will it works?
The inherent problem with an index valve is that you do not have individual valve control. If you've got a 5 zone valve assuming you also have a 5 zone cam... you'll need to use 5 zones worth of pins.

Hey bud. Just bought a house with this timer. Thanks for the info. The directions in the door suck. One question for you. You said you like to start watering at 4am. In the video it looks like you set the first pins at 4 but proceeded to set the rest earlier in the morning until the first zone kicks on around 2am. Did i miss something or did you have the nervous while filming brain farts? Lol
I am renting a home in south florida and there is the exact same timer installed. The first day we were here the power was shut off thus messing with the timer.I was able to set the time correctly but noticed the system wasn't turning on anymore. All the day pins were pushed in.They have 4 zones but the timer had 8 pins starting at 4 AM. Am I correct in assuming there should only be 4 pins with one space in between each and not 8 pins with a space in between as it is now? Thanks
The timer is motorized. If the time isn't changing the power is off or the timer is broken. If your near 33327 weston we can handle the upgrades for you
@@markrogge3098 You state that you like to start watering at 4 AM but the way you put the pins in you are actually starting a 2 AM. Wouldn't you put the pins in moving toward 6AM and not backwards toward 2AM, right? Also if I can ask, the way it was set up before you started pulling pins, the system was watering each zone for 24minutes if each pin waters for 12 minutes as there were 2 pins together then a space, then 2 pins etc. You said they were just watering 1 zone but that doesn't seem to be right. Just trying to learn. The way they have it here is 4 zones but 8 pins 2 together then space then 2 etc. Is 24 minutes per zone too much? Thanks

I would like to upgrade my sprinkler timer to a smart timer that I can control from my phone. I was told that I have a 220 outlet but I need a 110 outlet for the smart sprinkler. How do I make it possible to upgrade to a smart timer? How expensive will it be? I'm in your service area.

Hi Mark, Great video. I'm new to South Florida and have never used this type of irrigation controller. In Charlotte, they are installed in the garage and are digital. One question so I fully understand what you've done. YOu have pins inserted from 2AM to 4AM. Does this indicate that watering will start at 2AM and continue for 12 minute intervals per zone until the last zone at 4AM? Thanks in advance. Mark.
You have to skip a pin in between zones to advance. But I would say that there are many better alternatives 954-599-2602 of you want a quote. But I dont provide free tech support!!
Not asking for free technical support, was asking to clarify what you said in the video regarding the watering schedule and how you actually set up the watering scheduling, which were different.

Dirty rats!

super helpful video thank you so much :) ... it's been years since I've had to change the pins/ times sprinkler goes off and honestly I was afraid of breaking something if I messed with the timer box :) ... your video gave me the reassurance I needed to go ahead and change the times (have a family member working a very early shift who is getting water sprayed at her now when she goes out in the morning :P ) .. thanks again :)

Great video Mark, thank you. However, you said you wanted to start watering at 4:00am but you put the pins backward making the watering start at 2:00am instead of 4:00am, just an observation..
Glad you picked up on that. Truth be told... i hate these timers and replace them all day long with smart controllers

If your trying to do it manually , flick knob to permanent on and to switch to the next zone turn off wait about 10 seconds then flick it back on and it’ll advance to the next zone

This was very helpful. Thank you. I have the same indexing valve setup, how difficult would it be for me to switch an individual solenoid setup?
Difficult, not for a professional. Expensive, sure. You would need to replace everything including the internamatic.

Hey. I have this exact same scenario, down to the paint. Lol. Except I only have 2 zones. Thanks for this explanation. The days are still confusing. I'm trying to find a "smart / wifi" controller that will replace this one and turn the pump on and off with an app. I think it's a 220V line. Can you recommend one inexpensive? The ones I see online seem to just be timers or something and can't figure out if they're for a hardwired electrical pump switch or not.
Thank you very much !!!

HI Mark - great video, thanks! I have a timer like this (model R8806P101C) and everything seems to working EXCEPT that the time does not advance. There's power to the unit, but when I flip it to auto, it just sits there on whatever time I set it on. Am I missing something? The timer is only about 6 months old.

@@markrogge3098 I can't. Your content is very specific. Your subscribers are professionals or people who are dealing with these issues every day. I am not the one. But I can help you by giving you customer feedback. You should create good-looking thumbnails for your videos. Hire someone who knows how to do it, and you will have more views and subscribers.

Can we upgrade from a Intermatic controller to a rachio or does it require sprinkler system change?
Where are you located???

Mark, I added a new Intermatic sprinkler timer here in sunny south Florida. However, it's not watering properly. I set it to water Mon, Wed, and Fri, but it's watering every day. So I adjusted it and the same problem. I pushed all the pins in to test it and it watered every day I pulled all the pins out and it watered every day. Should I return it to Home Depot? I hate disconnect it. Help.

Thanks

Hi Mark,
Great video.
