- A great sketchbook idea for beginners or anyone trying to get started sketching. I'm using Caran d'Ache Neocolor II water soluble wax pastels, and Stabilo Woodys to draw fast sketches from reference pictures. Sketch along with me as I complete 2 minute realtime drawings of 4 different pictures of animals.

I drew along with you. I think the hardest one for me was the tiger. The angle and getting the stripes. My elephant and donkey turned out best. I love your elephant and tiger. Very cool! I think your tiger turned out really well.

Thanks! I do critique myself a little too hard sometimes. It’s not until I’m editing the video do I notice how much better everything actually looks. My perfectionist brain hard at work! 😆👍

Considering you drew in 2 minutes, I'd say you did great. My faves are the bunny, tiger and elephant. The donkey Im sure you can keep working it!

Wow these came out so good! I love the tiger and the elephant especially. Love the idea of limiting yourself to one color too. Fun thing to mix it up from the usual 2 min sketches and I bet it’s a great exercise to really focus on sketching and value skills!

I also drew along with you. I loved your tiger. The hardest thing about the tiger is the body angles down and the head is tilted up.
I agree! Very hard angles. I couldn’t get my tiger’s face tilted up enough to match the picture. I’m still happy with how it turned out though! Thanks for drawing along with me! I hope you enjoyed it! 😊👍

As someone who draws animals photo realistically, I'm impressed. I don't think that I could have done something like that in such a short period of time. I was super impressed with your elephant and your bunny. The tiger the only thing that I could find is that the rear leg needed to be a little longer and you were missing a rear leg LOL. As far as donkey it just needed a slightly elongated face and a little more shadow in front of the rear leg.
I love that you do this it is so inspiring to pull me out of blocks and ruts that I get into because I'm too detail oriented. When I can afford to get a watercolor sketchbook even a cheap one that I can do these with you I'm definitely going to participate.
