  • The Medieval Engineers software is amazing for any gamer/lover of history. With some time & patience, its whole basic engine can be modified to the shape of whatever era or culture you want. This video shows my ongoing efforts to create a sort of "Roman Engineers" within the M.E. framework. It also highlights some of the power already in the game's core mechanics, and how that power can be harnessed & modded to create just the kind of gameworld (or teaching world) you want. Your work never ceases to amaze me. Without your mods, and those of wolfgar, this game would be far less interesting.

Twentenaer Thank you much! Yeah wolfgar is always putting out great new sets. It's fun pushing the game & seeing what it can do.

Wow how convenient i just got done watching Radioman03 start his series in the new update and thought to myself i wish there was a mod that adds in some iron/steel armor and why stop there and add some bronze armor pieces. Wished they would add into a system into the game where you could craft it and it actually give you more health or an armor stat. Till then this helps makes the world seem less empty.

I'm glad someone is making working upgrades instead of just hacking. Love these additions, keep up the great work!

I wish I had watched your video prior to recording. I did manage to get the plumed helmet and red shield made and on my character. I will show more in the next episode. Looking forward to having guards placed on the Morning Star Pass.

It will be great to see them guarding the pass! Yeah as I was working on it I thought, "You know, this really needs some kind of instruction video." After you do it once or twice it makes sense, but that first time it can be a whole bunch of "huhhhh?" :)

Really cool idea the only problem I have with modded stuff is when yjere is a major update the modders never update their item.

Yeah that is very frustrating. I have seen a lot of great mods break and never get fixed. It's extremely frustrating! I try to make sure to keep mine updated as best I can. I've only lost a few over the past year that got too out-dated to be fixable. Some of my earliest ones I'm still actively working on. I started them in 0.2, and have kept them alive through 0.3, 0.4, and now 0.5. It just seems like the right thing to do, if I can.

hi could you please update this mod, as in survival mode you can not craft the mannequin and several of the weapons/armour. :)

Hi bex. I just tested, and I'm able to craft everything OK. This video is a bit out-of-date now in how to do things, unfortunately. It was made for the 0.5 version of the game, and a lot changed in 0.6. But you should be able to craft the mannequin from your own personal inventory easily. You only need to have 4 "dish" items of food -- like goulash, salad, shroom steak. And I tried crafting different arms & armour and it all seemed to work. (Most of these are crafted at the smithy or the forge, but a few things are done at the regular craft table.) If it's still not working for you, let me know some more about what's going on.

Imagine putting dozens or hours into making mod(s) for a game only for the devs to say: lol bye
